Lennli was such a great personality in the tournament. So happy he was able to join in and do so well. Big fan of the whole event, and look at you Zig, you're a keystone for this whole community! Thank you for your excellent content and genuinely wholesome commentary.
@@kingofmontechristo i dont know why that last part was necessary lol, but no, i think its good financially. my theory is that he actually believes he cant contribute much to the fast paced guessing that pros do, due to his slower playstyle. just for the record i think thats wrong and he would be a great commentator for an event like this!
@jasperpercabeth9140I think from rainbolts tournaments (the two or three when he casts) some of his personality shines through and i think he is quite nervous and excited in these videos/at the worldcup so he might not have fully know how to act (if i had been there i wouldve been super nervous too).that being said, I personally find him very funny
@jasperpercabeth9140 Have to agree with you. I tried my best to find the humor in it, but couldn´t manage it. Seemed awkward and rude. Hope I´m wrong and he´s an amazing guy :)
@jasperpercabeth9140I thinks that’s fair, but also some of these people are very young and perhaps neurodiverse and in an unusual setting, so it’s okay to be generous to them in our takes.
@jasperpercabeth9140 I'm pretty sure that if he was seriously rude towards anyone, there would've been consequences, given how much the community seems to value niceness, and how professionally the tournament was organized. As for me, personally, I think every event like this needs some piss-taking. The whole thing was presented as something really huge and grandiose, and in many ways it actually was, but it's good to have some humor and irreverence about it, to remind ourselves that it's ultimately not that serious.
Hey Oscar. I’ve been a big fan of yours since you started. Geowizard was originally my favourite player, but you’ve now taken that spot. Your content is so strong. You are an amazing player that has better instincts that most. I would not be surprised to see you become one of the front runners heading into next year’s tournament if you dedicated more time to the craft. Like I said, you have exceptional instincts and seem to be able to memorize/absorb a huge amount of information. I’d love to see you really give it your all. I wish you much success in whatever you choose to devote your time to. Cheers!!
Hey man, i really enjoyed your vlog of the whole experience, i find you a genuinely wholesome guy who really cares too educate people on the game, keep it up with the content :)!
Hey Oscar, if you're really thinking about going full time on TH-cam/Geoguessr you should definitely keep in mind that it would be way easier to burn out. I'm guessing based on views that TH-cam pays slightly less than a normal fulltime job, and that would mean that you would have to upload even more videos. Uploading more videos isn't a problem by it self but when you have to, to make a certain wage, it could certainly be harder to keep motivation. On the other hand I can clearly see from your videos that you want to follow this dream, and I don't want to hold you back from doing that. A small comprise could be to start working parttime, which together with TH-cam would probably be enough money to have a comfortable wage, and it would give you more time to work on your dream. We all love you and want to see you happy - so do whatever makes you the happiest!
This needs to be the top comment. I pursued my passion full-time and while I still love it, the burnout is overwhelming a lot of the time. Zig, keep the government job as long as you can, save up, keep grinding geoguessr and make the jump when you've got a very comfortable cushion of savings under you. Huge fan here, I hope you win next year!
Been loving your content for over a year now, I'm sure it'd be super fun to see you getting #1 in the world and the journey there, but of course it's your choice if you actually want to grind that much! ♥️
1. Yess I definitely support the idea of doing this full time, you'd be unstoppable! 2. Loved the vlog, debre is a menace lol 3. When is your merch coming? 👀
2 minutes into the video and it's so interesting to see you as a Geoguessr pro analyzing the vegetation, architechture and landscapes of a place you have seen so many times in the game, IN PERSON.
GOATED vlog, Oscar, thanks for this. I had a big dumb grin on my face watching the vid as your wholesomeness and enthusiasm translates across the screen. What a truly monumental moment for the community. We are all chilling and feeling.
Great vlog. You definitely had a good assortment of clips from there. Debre really is a menace.... definitely was not chilling and feeling. As for winning the next World Cup. I think theres going to be a lot of people thinking the same thing. Unless they dramatically boost the prize pool..... is it worth quitting a job for? Reducing your hours/days, sure... I could understand that. I know Mika mentioned in a Geoguessr stream that he felt "99.9% sure there will be another World Cup next year", so I'd say its a sure thing....... fingers crossed its in North America, so I can go easier, than Europe. This was 1 of the rare times I had some post-FOMO. I saw a lot of players got sick after the event, not a shock. You put that many people together for that many days & hours together, its almost inevitable. I did wonder, if the devs had a back up plan if someone got sick before it started.
Would love to see you winning the next world cup. But the most important thing for you is to keep the enjoyment factor high :) Really love your content!
Hey Zi8gzag, amazing video, truly a part of Geoguessr history, what i think you should do is follow what your heart says, its pretty simple, everyone can see that you absolutely love the game and would love to spend even more time playing it. The question now is: Do you like your job as much as you like Geoguessr, and does the job make you geniuenly happy? Personally i think doing youtube full time would be such an amazing idea. Cheers mate. Stay Chillin' and Feelin"
You did an awesome job vlogging so much! I can't say how many times I've had amazing experiences in my lifetime that I either forgot to take videos/photos at or that I forgot to journal about, so this was a super entertaining and wholesome watch! Can't wait to see what next year has in store
Im quite sick right now so I really don't have the energy to type a lot but I just wanted to say thank you so much for this video it really brought me loads of joy! Such a cool experience and memories that last forever! Thanks Bigzag and congrats on 60K
Just wanted to say thank you for your consistent and high-quality content here on TH-cam. Without you and your efforts, I believe the GeoGuessr scene wouldn't be the same. Watching you playing in the World Cup was even more exciting than the whole event (which was pretty damn well put together by the GeoGuessr team) already was. Regarding your thoughts at the end of the video, I really think you have everything one needs to become the best player in the world (and I'd be looking forward for some more Zi8gZag livestreams on Twitch), however going full into GG and content creation is obviously a big decision to make... regardless of how you decide you will always stay in our hearts as the GeoGuessr 🐐!
9:07 i just love how people keep popping up it's so cute 😂 geoguessr pro meetups in person are such a content . . . and whatever the decision you make, we're here to support you 🫶🫶
hey Zig, thank you so much for this vlog!! Was a blast to watch it 😃 Personally I see a possible danger of growing tired of Geoguessr if you really put in 9 hours a day for it. You know kind of like growing sick of your favourite food if you ate it every day. Also unfortunately being a content creator full time is a risky and hard job, but I mean you know better than me for sure. Also I can totally see how much you love it and your consistent upload rate is insane already now! I personally would recommend cutting down working hours/days first and seeing how that feels but ultimately do what makes you happy bro ❤
Was waiting for this video and and so glad it's finally here! Thanks a ton zi8zag for keeping your viewers updated and entertained! Was rooting for you throughout the World Cup.
1. I had no idea you were a CS player, Launders is awesome. He's actually near me right now (Seattle), but I couldn't afford tickets to TI this year because they increased prices by like 10x. I'd love to meet him! 2. That's so cool to see y'all sharing knowledge with each other during a tournament! Just shows how friendly everyone is in the community, and that it is really a community!
Great video!! Started watching you back when you only had about 700 subscribers and seeing how far you’ve come is just incredible! You are truly one of my favorite players and TH-camrs! ❤ Can’t wait to see you improve over the next year!!
Amazing video!! Loved watching you play during the tournament. I think it'd be sick to watch you try to become the #1 player next year. I think you should definitely consider making a patreon or something similar if you do decide to quit your job. I think me and many others would be willing to support you on your journey ❤

Thanks for the vlog! I need to give another shout-out to the guy in the second row (behind Chicago Geographer) wearing the Minnesota Wild hockey jersey. I was really surprised and happy to see my local team represented! It was also cool to see Geometric as a caster. She's a blast!
Idk hwo feasible this would be with your job, but I had a friend (in America) who also wanted to leave his job to start his own thing full time. What he ended up doing after talking with his bosses was being able to work part time (20 hours/week) to keep benefits, and then working 30 a week on what he really wnated to do. He out in extra time until he was fully on his feet, then left his job and went full time on his own and it worked out perfectly for him.
Zi8gzag, I really do believe you are on the cusp of breaking into the top tier league of players. I watch a significant amount of geo content from other creators and I am constantly impressed by your ability to learn and recall information quickly. I think you really do have what it takes, and I hope you keep growing!
Hi Oscar, sure this has been suggested already but on the full time YT/streaming question worth reaching out to others who have done this. For example I heard DarkViperAU (fellow Aussie!) recently talk about the evolution of his channels including discussion of grinding for game improvements (in his case GTA5 speedrunning but similar in terms of optimising strategies, practicing techniques) vs growing a channel through other types of content which may have wider appeal but take your focus away from the grind. He might be able to provide some specific advice. Good luck in whatever you decide!
I could envision you gooing full time on streaming and youtube and actually grind like nobody ever grinded before to be one of the best players in the world!
I'm a casual geoguessr player ... play once a day at work for maybe 20 minutes on my break... However i watch you, geowizard, peter, CG when i can .... i really enjoy watching GG content more than i do playing... The world cup was great to watch, i didnt watch live, but did it over 4-5 nights .... when i first started watching the coverage im like why isnt rainbolt playing?? But the expertise he gave during the matches was awesome (better than any of the pro casters) - and then the pro casters who filled in the gaps between matches did a good job (better than any of the GG community) ... so the balance was really good.... I saw the peak live viewers during the 2nd day was 71k across platforms (correct me if Im wrong) ...... i think with more promotion, that could grow hugely... I agree with another comment in here about somehow getting Tom there - pay the man... he easily has the biggest following on youtube / socials ... if he promotes it, and appears, add 20% viewership easily.... I'll never be as good as you guys, but i sure enjoy all the content.... looking forward to next years world cup now
For normal people, if you play 10,000 games of Geoguessr, you WILL be very good. You don't have to know any car metas or such (you have learnt them by that on your own) you just have the feel.
That particular species of larch is widespread through central Europe (and introduced throughout Scandinavia) but only as far east as Lithuania - the Siberian larch is the one you're familiar with from Russian coverage. Complicates the larch meta a bit!
bro i'm so glad he put that dj khaled clip in after that vid of him pointing at the food and naming it and also asking what it is. it reminded me exactly of the same thing 😭
2:48 is that a mf BLADEE snippet!??!?! actually the last thing i ever expected to hear in a geoguessr video edit: yea just realized this is from the nardwuar interview, insane
Say hello to your Mum she messaged me in the rainbolt coverage ,I am David’s mum one of the Australian fans who went to world championships. David just completed 800 daily challenges in a row last night all uploaded on utube as Arsnicly.
Chillin' and feelin' 👍

Damn you really did film way more than me lmao. I had such a great time hanging out with you and everyone else, thanks for this vlog mate
Did you get upset that the guy standing behind you in the crowd was wearing a MN Wild jersey and not Blackhawks? :) Go Wild!
Your video was so good too and touched on a lot of details that I didn’t. They go well together for the memories, I reckon.

The World Cup wouldn't be able to handle Tom cracking out an impromptu Straight Line Mission across the studio mid-competition.
3:41 “you guys know how i am at 5king” is one of the best, most accurate and funniest things i have ever heard🤣🤣🤣🤣
So wholesome how Jupa was teaching everybody that meta in the practice room, love the cameraderie between players overall.
great vid, so much fun watching this back 🥰
Next WC, all the games are played with screen colour settings being off. Yeah?
You were so much fun to watch!
