We use a very similar seed storage box that you can get from Hobbycraft in England (for fellow non US peeps). - We agree, we just don't think you can beat them for seed storage. -G&R,x
I just recently found your channel. And let me tell you, you are a godsend. I believe its so important for all of us to learn how to grow our own food, but it can be so overwhelming. You gave me hope. Thank you.
Hi Bre! This is very helpful! Wondering if you could share the links to the two spreadsheets you showed in the video so we can download for reference. First year starting seeds
After watching ur seed organization last year I went out to Hobby Lobby and bought 5 of the plastic cases like u have. It was wonderful to have everything organized like that. Plus it saves ur seeds from rodents that sneak into ur house in the winter. I live in the country and everytime they mow down the fields in the fall them little things sneak into ur house and they will sniff out ur seeds. We even have Orkin come out all year and set traps because of living in the country, all sorts a little buggies like to come in. So this is a great idea to keep your seeds sealed up keep them fresh I was so happy Bree did this last year I love following her she’s so smart and she has so many great ideas!
Ah Bre! I don't know why I didn't think to parse my seeds boxes out by planting or transplanting date; all of my seeds are organized by large categories then alphabetized; so when I need to pull seeds to direct sow or plant indoors I have to go into each box and grab the seeds I need. I like the idea of having them all in one place alphabetized, but then using one of my photo boxes as "in progress" seed storage that I organize for the upcoming season and then I just pull the dated box and boom all the seeds I need for that day are in one place nice and tidy!
You're awesome! Thank you for sharing your process. You really helped. I kept getting overwhelmed and confusing myself but I'm totally young to follow your method.
Great tips! Still waiting for my new seeds to arrive and then I will do something like you just showed us! Thanks. I live in Chicagoland and my zone did not change, I’m a 5 b.😀🌱
If you like pickled eggs at all I highly recommend growing dill and trying jalapeno dill pickled eggs they go so fast in my house!!! I know you have chickens too so not sure if you’re getting an over abundance or not. Just a suggestion if you get stumped on what to do with extra eggs eventually 😊
Bre! You’re such a great help. This is only my second attempt at growing seeds and it’s been confusing as to when to start. I am not a computer person at all, but will put your suggestions to work for me on paper. Thanks for all you share and am really really enjoying your Chanel. Are you planning on doing another temperature blanket this year? And if so will you take us along from start to finish?
I really L9ve this video veryyyyy interesting I live in Louisiana so I know my zone is 9b Im trying to figure out how this is gonna work for me 😂😂 on starting seeds n for cabbage, broccoli etc...
How much do you typically spend on seeds for your whole garden. First year planting, and I'm not sure if I'm over spending or planning to overspend on seeds.
Can you make your spreadsheet downloadable for others? Our frost dates are similar and I would love to use your template!
I was coming to comment that also 😅

You have a really nice seed-starting setup!
Omg you’re a Kansan!!! I’m a native Kansan as well, now living in the south. The grow season down here is incredible. Love your channel 🌻

There’s a calendar like this on the almanac website. I printed it out and added to it- theirs is more general but it’s a good start!
This was so helpful thank you Bre! Also your jumper is beautiful 😃
Great idea to organize by planting date. I’ve never thought of that but will be working on that tomorrow. Thx

How do you prep your garden beds before planting (and when)? Do you till the soil??
If you are able to share the spreadsheet or make it available to purchase I would happily buy! Thanks for sharing these tips!

While it's not quite as sharp, you can write directly on those containers with Sharpie permanent markers and take it off with alcohol later.
What do you mean by “plant out date”? Thanks! Got my box from Michael’s and building my own spreadsheet. ☺️

Would you be willing to share your spreadsheet. We have similar frost dates and this would be amazing
What type of lights are you using? Been looking around for some.
