10k is fine but imagine the hustle of being deported back to Somalia and regaining entry all over again.
They pay 200k because it will cost almost the same price to come in again. In addition to that, once the courts rule your deportation, they don't specify which date. It means that one has to stay in a cell until they have enough people to be deported with you. It's a fair price for someone who was already convicted, it's a hussle and daring the police to clear such cases.

I don't know how this country will deal with corruption in the police service, where I leave in saika, our women cannot go to markets early in the morning, or we the husbands must accompany them armed with crude weapons, many have been robbed and stabbed up. Maybe the police service ought to be privatised or completely revamped. Ps be careful I have noticed "bumburusha" (and for those who don't know, this is not the latest dancing craze! ) Is fully back

Most of you are busy saying how corrupt blablabla this country is .
Here's the thing ; corruption only arises out of necessity .
In this case this guy should have been deported same day ; I didn't see the need of the sentence .
The problem with kenya is heavy fines .
For example if a road ticket was about 1000 ksh that can be paid let's say within 24 hours , no one would see the need to bribe .
If the fines for theft let's say for a chicken were like 1000 ksh no one would see the need to bribe officers with 10k .
    But see .
    In Kenya a thief of 100 ksh is fined 80 k .
Now even if it's you and and officer tells you if you pay 10k you would be free ; would you not pay it ?
The judiciary system is where the problem is . As well as the constitution .
People pay bribes to avoid the costly judiciary results .
If Today we lowered some of this fines , no one would be bribing anyone
