Sony FE 24-105mm F/4.0 G OSS Lens

- I was so disappointed with this lens that I got rid of it within a week I believe.
However I am a year further down the Full Frame road and I feel I need it.
Got it again and I'm starting to learn to enjoy it.
This is my first vlog about it.
Check it out and remember I am not a reviewer or an expert!
However it is only f4 but I can say this is the best zoom lens of Sony in this range for travelling or walking (if you don't want to change lenses). According to sharpness, distortion etc... The new 20-70 f4 G lens isn't better, isn't so much better than it would worth its price. With 20 f1.8 G lens it's a perfect combo. I was also thinking about Tamron 28-75mm f2.8 G2 lens, but it's AF system isn't so good than this old 24-105's. But Tamron 17-28mm f2.8 lens is brutal. It gives the same quality at 20mm compared to 20 f1.8 G lens with fast, quiet and accurate AF speed. I had it but I sold it for the 20mm f1.8 G lens at the end. I've got 4 primes next to my 24-105 f4 but I wouldn't sell it away.
F4.0 does not say anything.. unless you’re going to create huge posters. The F4.0 can be accompanied by a nice ISO and then it’s all fine. Yes. I’d like F1.8 best case. But for this age of social media it’s irrelevant imo. Thanks for the info
Thanks for the Video, just bought the A7iv with kit lens. Think I should get this lens first or practice a few months with the kit lens.
WOW A7iv, Nice one! Wishing you lots of fun with it. Because I am always very relative I will answer in this way: Do you really need the 24-105? I don't know what the kit lens is you got now I can imagine something around 50mm or 24-70, but it also depends on the kind of user you are. I got it simply because I need 1 zoom lens does not matter that much how far it can go as I use digital zoom a lot for my purposes so I can get to like 400mm with my 105. And also got it for the OSS, it is really a difference vs a lens without it. Plus I just wanted to have the native system package. I only pack Sony lenses now. So I would say check your needs and match them with this lens, if there are no matches and you just want it because it's a big spoken about lens, then just leave it. Curious, which kit lens do you have and what do you record mostly?
The kit lens is the Sony 28-70mm.

Wow sounds like an amazing deal. So good. It is really a lens I fall in love with over time. Definitely worth investing in and if you learn to use it (not saying you can’t ) but I mean like really use it for its full potential then I am sure you will love it for years to come. Have fun!🤘🏻
