Although I would be a little bit afraid, my dream is to have an experience like that. My favorite animal. I live in Washington. I would like to know about some places to go.
The sound was an underwater recording that I added on top. The whales in the video are Transient but the calls are from the southern Residents (fish eaters)

I was wearing a go pro on my head. I was swearing a lot so I added the sounds to the video. I also recorded the sound with my gopro but it's from a different encounter. (Southern residents)
G Roz the dorsal fins on transient orcas tend to have a rather sharp or pointy end, resident orcas tend to have a shape that resembles a butter knife. And are sort of rounded. Also on the saddle patch behind each type, transients tend to be solid white or grey, whereas residents will have black lines that split up the colouring

Incredible. I found it breathtaking to see orcas swim under a boat I was in... I could only imagine the same experience out in a kayak!
If that happened to me, I would feel like I was now happy and ready to be beamed up. Such a soothing, ethereal experience.

Once the borders open up again, they do kayak tours out of telegraph cove on Vancouver island. One of the best orca hotspots in the world.

Yeah,I was. I cut out the audio because i was swearing too much. But they don't attack humans and I see them regularly
