Debbie, you say here that you wanted to live till your grand daughter 18--go got your wish and more! God Bless You sweet good lady--may angels fly you to heaven--you gave joy to so many!
She is 68 here and discusses preparing for being in "Mother" with Albert Brooks. That was a meaningful and funny movie! See it if you haven't yet. Another generation saw her in Will and Grace as Grace Adler's mother. She's one for the ages in the classics of Singing in the Rain, When the West was Won, and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. Still, late in her career, she transformed herself as Liberace's mother and had a talent as an impressionist. We have a little record of her stage performances as well.
what a classy LADY--- i remember Debbie tellng us about her 3rd husband-- how she thought he was going to push her off the balcony and claim the insurance $$$$$-- but she sensed it -- and hid.....--how frightening and psycho he was..... and thankfull she never remarried ....
Like most of them Debbie Reynolds talks about transparenc but can`t bear the thought of being transparent. Harry Karl understood her all too well. The last husband thought he knew her, had watched every thing she had ever done, had read every word she ever spoke. When whatever it was showed him he had been conned and he did not know her at all, the whole marriage went haywire and ended in divorce.
Such a very nice interview. I am so glad I found it. Rest In Peace Debbie. 2016. You made it age 84. Good for you.
