I know doing tv all the time has to get old and disrupts y’all’s personal life all the time but I have to say that y’all have definitely went above and beyond being ambassadors of the Christian life and representing God in a wonderful way! I couldn’t wait for the next episode to come on every week! It was just about the only wholesome, family tv left and me and my entire family would sit down and watch it together. Wish Jep could have talked more, don't get to see him much anymore and it was a real treat to see him on here, miss him and his family. Lead by example for sure. My dad had a saying ( The best kind of pride is when a man is complied to do his best even though no one else is looking. ) my dad was self employed and hit every lick that his guys hit and then come home and do chores around the farm. Love you guys !

Stone, you should try putting your backstraps in a cooler of ice, drain water off everyother day and add ice. Five days and they look like porkchops and no gamey taste. Soaking in milk other night before cooking works too. God bless yall, keep up the good work.

If you have a problem with the gamey taste in meat after you kill it, put it in a ice chest and leave it on ice for like four days until there’s little to no more blood in the water when you drain it. Me being from Texas the aging stuff just doesn’t happen unless leaving it in the freezer is aging lol

I played golf every day when I was 15 years old. Threw my clubs in my golf bag and got on my 10 speed bike and rode 6 miles to Auburn Hills golf course. It was a 9 hole course and I spent all day until almost dark playing golf, loved it. Now I can't play because of my back.
Venison shouldn't taste gamey if you cook it right. We've been hunting for years and have never had to age a deer, esp leave it hanging for weeks. That's crazy if you ask me. Normally it's just cut it up and freeze it. Cooking it is usually just salt pepper and butter, occasionally it'll get marinated esp the tenderloins and Backstraps. But if you cook it right it shouldn't taste gamey at all

There's a product called Umai Dry Age. Looks like a vacuum-seal bag, but it's actually a membrane that lets moisture out while keeping pathogens out at the same time. Wrap your large cuts of venison in that, vacuum seal it, put it on a cooling rack, put that rack on a tray, and put the whole shebang in the fridge for 30 days. Once that's done you take it out of the bag, trim it up, and it's ready to cook, freeze, or be made into jerky.

Interesting tidbit about Jep's experience with nearly drowning, and Phil being mad.
I nearly drowned twice. Once when I was 11. To put it short, I got sucked into a culvert in a low-water bridge that crossed a river. I was fully submerged, and barely managed to hang on to the edge of the bridge with the tips of my fingers. Dad grabbed my arms and pulled real hard, but couldn't get me out on the first tug. He said he didn't think he'd be able to get me out and was afraid he'd rip me in half if he pulled harder.
Then he pulled with all of his strength and finally got me out. Lol I bawled and was terrified, that I nearly drowned. As soon as he got me out, he gave me his very intimidating, intense, angry look, while balling his fists. Thankfully I didn't get whooped like Jep. But in that moment, I couldn't understand why he was intensely angry at me when I nearly drowned. But I now know he was angry because he was nearly scared to death because of me doing what I did that nearly caused me to drown.
I remember him telling family members that he couldn't hardly sleep for a month because of that.

15:00 Gahlee!. I wish I had kept the ones my dad brought home when I was a kid. One time he brought home a few grocery bags full of golf balls. He collected them when he was doing some kind of odd job. I think he said he was cleaning out a pond at a golf course.. Didn't know those things were so valuable.

I've never had that experience.. I killed everything from a yearling to a very old buck.. The Tenderloins are always tender.. now for the rest of it.. for your steaks, hamburger meat, jerky.. here you can literally just gut it hang it upside down in your shed.. for like 2-3 days and they're good ..now that's depending on temperature but our deer seasons are during the winter..
Jep is young and going gray. I hope he's not under too much stress.

One of the BEST Duck Call Podcast EVER! Notice the noise level wasn’t there? The rudeness and obnoxious noises, the cutting people off, the “Look at me, I’m louder than anyone”, the ignorance of JD wasn’t even there today! It was AWESOME! Didn’t have to turn anything down, cause his loud gibs wasn’t pegging out my volume! That ought to say something folks, GET RID OF THE GAR HOLE, as uncle Si likes to call things that isn’t any good!

When my oldest son was 4 we had a 13 year old black lab.she would see me get my hunting gear on and grab my gun and get all excited.she knew her and dad was going hunting
