It's just like Chuggaconroy said Torna is like a trainwreck in slow motion. You know what's gonna happen, you know its gonna be ugly but you cant look away.
The scene where Mikhail pulls Milton’s body to him and preventing Mythra from properly mourning the one who she essentially saw as a brother makes Mikhail’s scene of him saving the cast of 2 in the base game hit so much harder. Cuz it probably hit him that he contributed to Mythra’s mindset of wanting to destroy herself and that he ultimately is doing what Amalthus did to the Torna cast, just like what Jin realized during his battle with Rex. Honestly the more time passes the more layers xenoblade 2 as a whole gets cuz it’s so fascinating. It really just makes it so much more tragic that Mythra was basically viewed as a weapon feared by people in Torna even to those who were her friends, and that it wasn’t until Rex came along that he didn’t fear what she was capable of doing but rather befriended her despite it all.
From where you are now in your life, and seeing your Xenoblade journey from the beginning until now, i truly think Xenoblade 3 will be something truly special and magical for you. Its something that will truly resonate with you and maybe be something you never forget.
I really hope so. XC3’s story really left me wanting and wishing the story had a few more passes with another year in the oven. Future Redeemed, though… Excellent. I can’t wait to watch Dee take it on, and I hope he enjoys it more than I did.
I cant wait to see you play thru Xenoblade 3, but believe me... you are not ready for whats to come in 3. Torna is a masterpiece and Im glad youve come back to my favorite franchise for you to enjoy!
@grandpm9270 it is the Truth, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 December 1st 2017-2024 December 1st I was Twelve that Year 😃 and now i'm Nineteen, come Next Year on August 2nd i will be Twenty 😊
DB, you're right. Counterattack, the song in the final battle, *never* gets old. I've listened to it hundreds of times and it's really, really, incredible. XC2's OST is one-of-a-kind.
So passes Hugo, Emperor of Mor Ardain. So passes Milton, Squire of Prince Origo. And so passes Lora, Knight of Torna. And so too passes Torna, the Golden Country, it's people, and it's legacy. May the future be kinder to those who follow after them.
The scene at the end of the game where jin is journaling is one of my favorite scenes the series. Makes you realize that him and several other blades do not want to loose their memories and hate the current cycle of life they have to live.
You are right about the song being from Lora, but your wrong about Jin never moving on, and secondly another thing you didn't notice in the song is that the song says "Promise me that you’ll walk again Won’t you show me that smile? And I know, you will find that someone Who will help you move on Since that day you came and took my hand Our story began So don’t be scared to reach out for someone I know you will be fine, just go on, that person to help him move on was Rex, and at the End of the Credits it shows him.
@@rghennig1 Did he ever move on? Maybe emotionally at the end he did, but that was also at his end. He did not get to live life much past that. Part of moving on is to allow yourself to move past a obstacle, to continue living... At most he died with peace of mind.
@Spartan1312 The entire point to way he still kept living is because he couldn't move on from the Trauma of Torna and Lora, so he went on to resent the world and wanted to bring it to an End!, until Rex showed him a path!, that Humanity is still worth saving! So yeah!, Jin did move on! 🕊 Also please take a listen to the song again 😉🙏
So happy to see you back in the world of Xenoblade, Dee! I loved this video and CANNOT wait for you to play xenoblade 3. Also, side note about Gort (end of torna spoilers for the viewers): Gort (the creature that fought Lora and co after the Malos fight) was turned into that form by early blade eater technology, assumably by Amalthus. Amalthus eventually improves this technology and this is why he has Haze/Fan la Norn's core crystal in base game.
"The piano is not helping" is such a mood. I think I've cursed Xenoblade music more than once, it really yanks on your emotions. Mythra's scream at the end always gets me, it's so visceral. Not enough to make me cry, but close. Yikes. Also, don't know if you knew, but Mythra has DID. She created Pyra as an alter ego to deal with the trauma she just suffered. And she created Pyra to be "perfect". Pyra is nurturing and kind. She can cook. She's all the things Mythra believes she should have been. You can definitely look forward to more amazing music in Xenoblade 3. That soundtrack is in a class of its own.
I think it's one of those cases where the king sees to it that his people escapes first in the same way that the captain is the last to leave the sinking ship. Think it's one of those things that separates a good thing from a bad one.
I’m so glad you got to experience the full story of Xenoblade 2. You can easily argue that 1 or 3 are the best in the series, but 2 is by far my favourite, and a game I hold near and dear to my heart. Speaking of, Skye Bennett’s performance as Mythra is something that always brings me to tears. Seeing her so broken and hopeless is utterly gut wrenching and Skye nailed every emotion, but it makes Pyra and Mythra getting their happy ending so much more rewarding.
People that don't play Xeno 2 and Torna The Golden Country just cause they have some silly issues with fanservice or whatever are seriously missing out. There is good reason many of us refer to them as peak games and why the whole series is so beloved :-)
Remember when Dee said he wasn’t motivated at the time because this was a prequel? Pepperidge Farm remembers. Also, the release of this is perfect since it’s the 7th anniversary of XC2. I’m also glad at 3:11:02 that the mod team helped teach you about Driver Combos since they make such a huge difference in combat. You didn’t really use Launch or Smash in your XC2 playthrough, so some battles ended up being harder for you.
What an absolute treat to get such a long DeeBeeDad video. Love watching you interact with your son, so precious! I'm so glad you played it as well. Torna fills in little gaps from xc2 and adds so much depth and context for main game. The community building is tedious but makes everything hit so much harder. The ending of Torna is so devastating, even the small details, like when Pyra is created and Addam is going to Leftheria, he has no lilt in his voice at all when he speaks. He speaks sternly and seriously and it really sets the mood in stone. I'm very excited for you to play XC3 and can't wait to be a part of the journey! Just know... you're not ready for xc3 😂
@enzoforgets9456 Like for reference I'm pretty sure it took me until the 60th hour before I realised I could actually cycle between enemies like I could in XC1 by holding down an extra button with the shoulder buttons. Prior to that I just thought they decided to force the player to unlock and relock onto the enemy you wanted lol
Been waiting for this!! 😭 Intentionally stayed away from play throughs so I can watch it with you man💪 welcome back buddy Can't wait until XC3 on Tuesday let's go!
Holy Gonzalez! A 6-hour long XC2: Torna video by Deebeegeek? My goodness. I gotta get some snacks for this. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to the ending and to your return to streaming for XC3 on Tuesday.
I finally watched it all. It's been a pleasure Dee and I look forward to watch your XC3 playthrough. I played all the Xenoblade games and I still rank Torna on its own on the top tier alongside XC1 and Future Redeemed, as to me it has the perfect mix of story and gameplay (I personally didn't even mind the community quests since I do that stuff anyway). The story is of course the highlight and the ending is just peak fiction and the way you handle tragic prequels (instead of whatever Age of Calamity did). The way it ties with the events of XC2 is just perfect.
Back when Xenoblade 2 came out, I remember playing around 80 hours or so before I took a year long break. I don’t think there was a specific reason, I just stopped playing it for a while. When Torna was released, I came back and finished it but never played Torna until a month before Xenoblade3 released so I kinda rushed it. Watching you play through it and getting ready for Xenoblade 3 before I replay the series has been fun
I think Xenoblade 3 in a few particular moments are really going to resonate with you, especially with you being where you are at within your life and now being a Dad and all. Its a game that has such a grounded and relatable theme and the way Xenoblade 3 explores it is so moving and magical
1:21:50 Oh gosh, the tone at which you said that reminded me of a voice line from the base game so strongly, now I’m questioning if it’s an intentional reference! When Rex discovers the true Elysium up at the top of the world tree, he says NEARLY the exact same thing, I had to look it up to check. “There’s nothing…. Nothing here at all!”
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and the Torna The Golden Country expansion DLC are my favorite in the Xenoblade Chronicles series because I love the anime style, story telling, characters, soundtrack, cutscenes, and it all just flows so well and the gameplay is fun too. Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and their DLCs are good too but this is just on another level emotion wise and in terms of investment. It's so good. I'm glad I chose to buy both Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Torna The Golden Country physically back in early 2019 at GameStop and I had no idea what I was getting into since I never got to play the first one until later with the definitive edition on the Switch and the then the 3rd one. The second one was the first I played and I've replayed it so many times along with this expansion DLC. 🙂
been waiting almost 2 years for this :-D shame im working late shit Tuesday so will miss start of number 3 ill have to watch it later when home from work
Some of these lines go under the radar but go so hard. I love the King. "Mark their honor above their frailty." This man just drops the wisest perspectives mid sentence and keeps talking.
After beating this game for the first time, it took me 3 days to start the console again. I was simply too heartbroken. I personally had a very strong connection to Hugo. And, of course, Mikhail.
Sometimes easy mode is the right choice. As someone once said, sometimes after a hard days work, I just want to come home and feel like a badass. Nothing wrong with that. As a dad myself, some of the most fun I’ve had is putting ratchet and clank on easy mode and tearing through the game with my kids.
Six and a half hour. You would think i would watch bit by bit, so i can enjoy it over a long period...nah, i am totally gonna watch it straight through.
This dlc... is one of my "Crisis Core" cases in gaming: a tragic story that you, as the player, knows how it ends, but seein all the details and living the moment with all these characters, it hurts way deeper that when the main game tells you. And they way that ends is just perfect, completing the circle.
After Future Redeemed the DLC to 3 is it infact Xenoblade Chronicles X DE time. I can't wait for Deebeegeek getting stuck on the creation character screen.
Last comment I’ll leave here. So glad you created this Dee. I honestly don’t remember the ending of this DLC, so it’ll be fun to relive, and I’m incredibly excited to see you play 3. Enjoy the ride!
I started watching your Xenoblade playthroughs while I myself was playing through the whole series this past year for the first time, and its been a blast experiencing the games and falling in love with them while watching your own experience with them, probably my favorite reactions to the series I've seen. I completed my adventure with the trilogy back in June and I can confidently say you are going to LOVE Xenoblade 3, Torna is a masterpiece, but 3 and Future Redeemed are truly works of art. I can't wait to see your reactions and experience it all with the rest of this wonderful community(sadly I'll miss the Tuesday stream but I'll wait patiently for the vod/video😭).
It would've been great to see you react again to the flashback in Xenoblade 2 main game when Jin tells the story of what happened to Lora. It ties perfectly with this ending and it's great
3:03:35 Yeah...Yep. Felt the same way. The only reason I don't think I will ever replay Torna. 3:04:15 I wanted to get through the story at that point. I didn't care about sidequests much at all, and I had so many I needed to complete! Torture.
Thank you for playing through and sharing this experience you had with us. I'm glad you came to appreciate the community system for its emotional impact, despite the pressure it added to you as a content creator. It's a controversial choice to block progress for sure and very valid to feel frustrated while you're doing the quests. At the same time, seeing Malos "bring it out" of Mythra by destroying so much of what you put your labor of love into elevates the end sequence to another level. You put your all into this Dee, so I'm glad you got all that you could from it too. Looking forward to XC3!
I really think Torna should be played before starting chapter 8. There's litterally a spoiler for Torna at the start of it, and Torna gives you SO much context for Mikhail's character. It's just how I suggest you play if you haven’t.
I watched the whole video to collect timestamps and I'm not ok.

DeeBee: I'm ready for Xenoblade Chronicles 3!
Everyone who has played 3: No you're not ;)
WE'RE SO BACK

DeeBeeGeek the Movie lesgooo
Yessss, XB3 is upon us lads!
I really think Torna should be played before starting chapter 8. There's litterally a spoiler for Torna at the start of it, and Torna gives you SO much context for Mikhail's character. It's just how I suggest you play if you haven’t.
THE XENOBLADE IS REAL (TORNA) ‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
Oh...Oh dear, you sweet summer child
