I started my Mario Maker 2 journey by watching Ryu and a few others. I got the game for myself. At first I sucked too, but now, I make Super Expert levels. 750+ hours in the game makes me a good player. I believe in you, Jessica. You can do it too.
I bought the game and only have about 2 hours playtime lol...watching him suffer troll levels is the best part but it's not so enjoyable to do alone xD

On the topic of glitches Nintendo patched, I really don’t think they should have patched tech like frame jumps and phantom jumps. Phantom Jumps got it worse since you can’t even perform them anymore even in old levels. Now there’s a handful of levels out there that cannot be cleared ever.
8:48 Ryu out of practice not having done a frame jump in 3 years lol. I just use to spam both the jump buttons (+shoulder buttons if NSMB/SMW for spin jump). This is one of the nice things they removed.
I wonder if that pow throw was so inconsistent due to a combination of overlapping hotboxes and the platform making it easy to incidentally clip the pow into the lower hitbox, which triggers the game to allow it to pass through without contacting the hitbox of the muncher as it looked like you had a higher chance of landing the hit when you purposely jumped high and away from it?
The explanation is simpler than that. You'll notice that Ryu kept throwing the POW through the *clown car*(not the muncher) and the clown car does not count as part of the hitbox of whatever's inside it. As for the times when the POW went through the muncher.....idk. Janky game, lol

We have something in common: if the instructions on microwave dinners say to cut the film for ventilation purposes, we puncture it with a butter knife (point being it's more convenient that way)

I don't have Super Mario Maker, so I couldn't test if this works, but I saw a video with a similar situation (door leads to spikes at the goal), and they said: Just hold the jump button, while entering the door.

I dont understand why so many people design levels that are just frustratingly hard to play and 0 fun. Like hitting the plant at the top of the hitbox or then landing a frame jump. Its literally just abusing dumb mechanics to make the level really hard but its literally zero fun to play.
Phantom jumps were retroactively patched, making a bunch of levels impossible. Was Nintendo inconsistent with the retroactivity of the patches, or were frame jumps NOT patched out?

Watching Ryu play Mario maker is just so relaxing & fun. I've been watching since like 2018 & it's comforting watching Ryu.
The levels are crazy in Mario Maker 1, but Ryukahr doesn't back down from any insanity. He just puts all the levels down one by one!
