Absolutely wonderful storytelling and acting. 🎭
I'm just glad that I lived this long to be able to watch as if it were a new series in my life. 😊

As with much British television of this era, an excellent production could be still be achieved with good actors, good script writing, good direction and an almost non existent budget.

Some nice little touches in this production: The incomplete jigsaw puzzle in the opening credits which is completed at the closing is a satisfying piece of symbolism. Also the theme music from the Prokofiev ballet lends the right atmosphere and fits nicely.

I absolutely love this show, I am a huge fan of Clive Swift! I must reccomend First Among Equals, also with a great cast and The Wilderness Years with Robert Hardy, Eric Porter and Swift.
