No official statement from Respawn or EA, keeping us in the dark while not reassuring their player base. I don’t know how EA gets billions with their lack of care.

That's exactly how EA does it. Eventually with enough lack of care, when something goes wrong, people will continue to follow EA.
      To give an analogy:
If a Shepard's herd spend there's days being shot in the head, in front of each other, covered on blood and remains. Simply while following the Shepard through the field. Eventually they'll become so accustomed to it that it feels normal.
That's what's happening here, EA is the shepherd, while us and respawn devs alike, are blood soaked, limping, following blindly in to what seems like a leisurely walk but that's just because, it's what they want us to believe.
The fact Apex doesn't have just a full multiplayer system like Titanfall is proof enough that EA are simply drip feeding everything. Minimum effort - maximum returns.

Youu can still play apex as a lot of streamers are still playing it. However, It is advised that you dont play apex for now until they resolve the hacker issue.

wait till respawn makes a statement, no one truly knows the scope of the breach its best just to wait if you are worried about any info being stolen or your machine being infected

I think Thor isn’t giving his truthful full thoughts on what’s going on because he knows the hacker is listening. We know he has access to Apex servers but also that he very likely has access to other people’s computers through the server because he added those chests to Hal and that other guy.

Thors clarified this in other videos, he thinks that the hacker hacking Gen and Hal are likely due to them specifically downloading stuff that they shouldnt have and are one-off cases, not RCE client side

probably if the hacker has access to the patch/update servers, the game client updater could be used as a vector for RCE (imagine your patcher downloading trojans to your pc)

@@timnoskill as we all agree, no one rce client side

@@exodusMT if he has access to patch/update servers, which nearly impossible, EA is done. yet this wouldnt be considered as rce in our area of expertise

Sorry for my invalid terms, but consider the below case study:
1.) target company is a software development company selling accounting software (w/ auto updates)
2.) infect an IIS webserver via exploits and plant a trojan
3.) use credential sniffing (mimikatz) to get AD administrator credentials from network
4.) gain access to their patching servers (cause their whole network runs on windows credentials via AD)
5.) replace their exe updates with a packaged-with-trojan version
6.) gain access to all their client's data and PCs
      7.) profit.
Really it's not easy, but it's not hard tho. There might be other OS equivalents.
      On the whitehat side:
"Nearly impossible" is not a good term to use in security. It's being over-conceited and it's the first step in the road to disaster.
