Martyn, at the beginning of this episode, the reason you died in one hit is because Darkness Beckons has a chance do do a random status effect. One of which being the 'death' effect, which has a chance to automatically kill the target.
Actually, in the game, the energy itself is never given a name, simply 'MP'. Drippy, however, explains the gauge as the "MAGIC" gauge. The word "Mana" is carefully never used, as that is the name of the White Witch's forbidden spell.
Sometimes it'll be more efficient to do healing touch rather than healing hand because healing touch is three mana and healing hand is eighteen of your mana. Also, healing touch seems to heal a good chunk of your health.
i just learned something you can change your mircle moves where you can change a fammilairs tricks you can look in the bottom left cornner and it will show you how
Beat the main story line about an hour ago. I bought the game after part 55 of this series..... probably played at least 10 hours a day grinding my ass off. I did love this game and I cant wait to see how martin fairs against the final boss!

Martyn, you can solve riddles you get from Horace (the guy you get the spirit medium spell from) for some very good spells. First, you find him in Ding Dong Dell, or was it Al Mamoon? Any, just use google to find his first location. You won't regret it!

@inthelittlewood I hated those zombified bosses, but in my opinion King Tom was the thorn in my backside. He was just a major arse when he kept casting his Itchy Scratchy repeatedly and you had to heal AND de-poison your whole party! Luckily, I had the spell Draw Poison (which I got from Horace), which hellped a lot.
I have a question. No hate intended or anything, I was just wondering why Martyn never lets any of his partners or partners familiars use a golden glim?
God dammit Martyn, I would of thought that you would've realized after 56 episodes that Darkness Beckons is a 1 hit KO. Not only that, but its a relatively inaccurate move that can easily be avoided, but when ever you see it, you either stay still or (much worse) RUN. RIGHT. INTO. IT.
During this battle I was almost yelling at the screen "USE MORNSTAR MARTYN! TOM'S A DARK TYPE FOR THIS BATTLE!" But you still did on try one though. So Grats!

A lot of people have been telling him that he should've used that :P I don't really follow what the spells do, so I just see what Martyn does but I read the comments and like the ones that tell him to do the right thing ;)
the problem I have with your build here Martyn is that Esther, as dim as her AI is most of the time, has the ability to capture little mobs. Incase you run across something really stompy.

I belive strippy had a piece of eqquipment that can recover health when it hits something

I love what king tom looks like as a zombie! soooo cute in a evil eating flesh type of way.
She can only sackify on the source(crystal).Doing it on Tom won't help.
Besides,she is in real danger if she does than with King Tom still up.

You should consider using Evenstar, Martyn! It costs quite a bit of mana, but it does a lot of damage so I think it's worth it :)

Mornstar is a light attack and since Arrow of light didn't work I think we can assume Mornstar wouldn't work.

You should probably have Monny know Upsy-Daisy. That trick revives a player just as a phoenix feather would.

nope , it do the same amount of damage as mornstar so its a waste of like 9 mana compared to mornstar
It just heals all enemies. It's called the Prince's Blessing
