When I first played this game, my 9-year old mind was blown away by the graphics and music especially the music, man. The town theme really hits me hard the first time. It was one of the first games that made me truly feel strong feelings as it really made me feel like I'm on an epic journey. Epic Battle Fantasy III may not age very well when compared to its sequels but it had a very big impact on my childhood.
I mean, it's true, the game might not be as good as the sequels are. However, considering this game is over a decade old, and a pretty old indie game, it's stood it's ground pretty well, if you ask me. Graphics aren't terrible, has a moderately healthy humour, all things considered and the music is exceptionally good, keeping in mind the lack of seriousness during most of the game. Nostalgia surely hits hard, but I've presented this game to some friends that never played the series and they actually liked it, and to say that today, when we have indie games that have made such a huge impact, such as Omori, Undertale, Eastward... This feels like an old gem to me, you cannot judge it by today's standards, but based on how good it was back in its age.
I remember every time I decide to do a new run of EBF3, I would just mess around with the settings and artwork for like 20 minutes, because this main menu theme was so good lol
I was just 6 when i started playing Epic Battle Fantasy.. My life was so boring being in a very strict family, this game made my life a bit enjoyable, im turning 18 this November 13, 2023
I may not admit it or even realize it but this is my childhood. Or rather, part of it. And hearing it makes me feel saddened, as if longing for the past to happen for the first time a second time I don't like this feeling but I'll let it sink in. Nostalgia is ok sometimes

This Song to me is Nostalgia in it's purest form one of the very first games i have ever played and it was glorious those simple days of sitting infront of my laptop and booting it up to play this masterpiece no words will ever capture my gratitude to the dev i owe you not only my childhood but my life thank you truly for this masterpiece

Sure, the game is quite humorous, but as you get further, it then breaks the illusion to show you what the true threat lies. All I can say is, Epic Battle Fantasy is such a good game.

This is my favorite track in EBF3, and honestly, I don't know if it is the second or first one of the whole series because I also love Falled Blood, but they are very different songs... But focusing on this one: I like it because it is sad, and it emanates it's sadness through my body. Sometimes I cry listening to this because it awakens deep emotions inside me, it's like... It is the start of a journey, but at the same time the end of it. Not that it is the end of the life of a legendary person and the start of an adventure by the ones they defended, but something that you hear at the starts of everyones lives, and at the end of them. We lost and forgot many things when big things are happening to us, but in the end we'll remember, even if it is at the very end, the edge of everything. If I could say what I feel about this song in an even more personal way, I would say that this is the theme of my history with videogames, how I lose some of them, how I have forgotten others, and sometimes I lost and forget all of the memories too. I can remember one or another randomly and at random days, it brings me with sadness because I probably won't play them one last time, or come close to even see them. But I also rejoice that some of them are still here, even if it is just in my mind. The first times I played each games in the EBF series is one of my best memories, they'll always be, and even if I get tired of replaying the games someday, even if I lose them, even if I forget them, I hope that someday I remember and simply smile and say to myself "Thank you all, everyone who made this series so great and enjoyable."
