- Bill Johnson teaches on the clarity and perspective that comes from refining your focus. During the time of Jesus, Anna and Simeon were completely focused on God’s promise to them about the Messiah. Their single focus prepared them to recognize the fulfillment of that promise even in a baby; Jesus. In our world today there are so many things trying to distract our affection and attention from our love for God and sensitivity to His voice. Many of the things that compete for our attention are not necessarily bad, but can still dilute our affection for God and take away from our purpose. As we reflect on 2023 and move into 2024, refining our focus on God and what He has called us to do will prepare us to recognize His voice even in the most subtle ways. Hearing His voice enables us to partner with Him to see His Presence and goodness fill every area of life.

Lord only you know the burdens I face give me strength to get through this Christmas. I am a single mom and it can be hard to have everything on your shoulders. Both of my sons are autistic they require so much from me. I’m struggling to provide for them. But I keep faith even as I struggle to pay rent every month and as I struggle to buy groceries. My health is also fading due to heart disease and lupus. Jesus please help me to find strength when I am weak, hope when I am struggling, and peace in the midst of chaos. I have faith God will provide. I believe in miracles. ❤

No chat line but if anyone sees this please pray for my family. Two of my adult children haven't spoken in 8 years. Another of my four children is so addicted and is shooting heroin and fetanal. He is homeless. At one point while in jail he was strongly seeking God. First low and he ran back to drugs. His name is Zoe. He is a good guy who struggles with depression and believed this drug is what he needs just to feel normal. The deception is bringing such destruction. He hasn't seen his daughters age 2 and 3 in over a year. I covet your prayers.
And you keep praying God’s word over your kids with unwavering faith. Do not let the enemy put doubt or despair in you. Crush his windpipe if he makes this feel hopeless. God hears your prayers as a mother and daughter of the King. Your faith moves the mountain.
Pray without ceasing. Your mess will become your message.

Just when my “jigsaw “ had got all scrambled, this message put it all in the right place. I was looking at the wrong things again.
This spoke TO ME profoundly!!! I am an addict. I've been in recovery and began my personal relationship with Jesus about 12-13 years ago. This is my first time watching Bill. So much truth and revelation. I'm asking someone to stand with me in prayer for God and Holy Spirit to begin a new work, new song, new seed, in this One Thing. For my focus to be refined. It is by His Power and Spirit. AMEN

Part of your focus being refined, is determining in your will (mind and emotions) that no matter what, you are submitting, and will continue to submit (to hand over the steering wheel of your life basically) into His care and command. I'm awaiting results from a bone marrow biopsy that I had this week. Your prayer quickened me. I receive my healing by faith in Jesus' name! 🕊
One week later: The results are in my doctor's portal. I've read them but don't completely understand them, but I think it's good news! I meet with the hematologist on Tues to confirm how the Lord healed me. All glory to God!
I have been diagnosed with degenerative disc, disease, stenosis, and arthritis in my entire spine. But today I receive my healing in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ praise the Lord!

Now at 62, it's shouting what The Lord had been preparing me for my whole life! DISTRACTION & The SEARCH for SIGNIFICANCE were what I was slave to. NO MORE!! So Powerful. I would like to add something I read this week from an Advent devotional by Angela Hunt. She talked about the shepherds and what I am thinking about here is that they were honored with being present with the angels...at the birth. Bill, you are so strong on the testimony and Angela thinks that the shepherds would have been talking about that event all over the place including at the temple as they showed up with the sacrificial lambs soon there after. Yes, the waiting of Anna and Simeon would have heard the testimony of the shepherds and been on alert and excited that their moment has come. I was also touched by her telling of the status of the shepherds. I always thought of them with the status at least as farmers or fishermen but because they dealt with dead animals under the law they would have been lowered in status. Again I cried thinking about God using them, honoring them. God chose them and perhaps they were first to testify of this miraculous, ineffable event. I love that you said He wanted them to be part of the process. So powerful.

Awesome truths! You know what else I thought of, concerning this sermon, taken from Luke 2? Earlier in Luke 2, in verses 15 through 18, it is written, that the shepherds, after hearing from all those angel/s about the birth of the Christ, and having gone to see Him, "and when they had seen it (Joseph, & the mother Mary, & baby Jesus lying in the manger) , THEY MADE KNOWN ABROAD the saying which was told them concerning this child. And ALL THEY THAT HEARD IT wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.". . but what I'm thinking of, is why/how/where/what WERE the "all they that heard it" from the shepherds DOING WITH what they had heard from the shepherds, and with their own wonder??

Stay separate from the world. Your friends are in Christ. Your friends talk about Jesus! Your friends do not engage in deceptive activity to destroy the lives of others. The dragon gave the beast power over the earth and those who worship and bow to the image of the beast. Everyone will serve the beast except for those who refuse to because they are of the righteousness of Christ--those God called, elected, and chose before the foundation of the earth was formed will not serve or worship the image of the beast. Those who serve God are under attack, we have a death threat on our heads because we will not worship the image or idols of the beast. Revelation 12 & 13. That is hilariously ironic because this whole message was on being FOCUSED on the main thing: God's purpose for YOUR life. I am thinking you are probably a Christian or you would not be watching this video. There was SO much revelation and Godly instruction in this message, but your focus was hunting deer? It haunts me to even think about hurting an animal but were is that in the Bible? That was not what is what the Father or Jesus said to focus on. We cannot allow ourselves to be distracted an miss the what God is telling us what He wants us to do.
