    Great video. It always amazes me the different type of people out there. The ones that want to preserve/record our history, and others that see theses spaces as places to trash. Thank you for recording these for generations to see !

    That's an incredible site. The silence of it at 13:31 is quite unnerving. 17:50 - That's called a Lamson Tube, gents.

    That plotting table was built in the shape of a map. The tube transport system you saw were known as Lamson tubes.

    I'll bet # 1 fan was happier with this explore than the last one, crawling through the drainage tunnels and the prospect of having to squeeze through that small pipe. LOL

    Looks a bit like Churchill's war bunker with the viewing room!

    :HMS Wildfire was the naval base at Sheerness during WW2. My granddad served there. I have also seen mention of a Wildfire in the Chatham region. I suspect this video covers that one. It would be of the cold war era I think.

    Help we are locked in.!!
    Those big steel sections with the massive bolts were made at Stanton Iron Works, in Ilkeston in Derbyshire, 5 mins walk from where I was born. They made all sorts of things. Streetlamps (Steel and Concrete). They went into specialist Concrete, when the call for Iron smelting/casting declined. They made the spun Concrete reinforced pipes for the Channel Tunnel, sadly its all closed and derelict now.

    Those burnt out areas underneath look like they might’ve been rest rooms, or maybe interview rooms or something. Very spooky bit of chain hanging from the roof beam.

    What an amazing place, so sad there has been a fire in there. Can't imagine how good that operations room would have looked with the maps and glass all still in place, the floor tiles were great. Loved the ventilation room. I knew one day Chris was going to close the wrong door he's got a real fascination with doors! LOL Great work guys!

    These places should be preserved or at least burred with a new landscape, sooner or later there be at the point of no return in terms of someone being able to turn it into a museum, looks like there's enough original features to save, but sadly I expect it will just continued to get trashed and that will be it gone for ever. I love exploring and visiting these places but I cant understand why anyone trashes them. absolute idiots

  • @CAPDude44
    @CAPDude44 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Considering how old the tunnels you guys explore are, you should consider investing in a air quality sensor. Old tunnels and bunkers can quickly run out of O2, and poisonous heavier than air gasses can settle in underground spaces that don't have air circulation.

      Miles Vohs not if the dust is on the floor and simply walking on it makes it airborne or it has latched onto many of the surfaces such as handrails and walls.

    The folk who set fire to these places should be banged up. It's criminal. We lost Barnton Quarry bunker in Edinburgh to arsonists when I was in my teens in the very early 90s. Tragic to lose this history.
