- Army Recognition went to ULBRICHTS’ factory, located between Salzburg and Linz, and attended a series of firing tests on ULBRICHTS helmets, with and without additional shields, and on classical NIJ IIIA helmets currently issued to nearly all armies… which we shall prudently not name, considering the frightening results we personally assessed.

The following tests were executed on November 23 at a distance of 5 meters for handgun ammunition, and 10 meters for rifle ammunition, with various helmets, put on a ‘’normed soap head - specified by VPAM HVN’’, the material commonly used to relevantly represent the human head density, with the results indicated after each test:
Handgun performance from 5m:
• 9x19mm frontal hit on ULBRICHTS OPTIO helmet. Result: not a single impact is visible, thus no perforation and no lethal trauma.
• 9x19mm side hit on anNIJ IIIA helmet. Result: more than 50 joules (at survivable 25 joules) which means lethal brain trauma and death!
Rifle performance from 10m:
• 5.56x45mm frontal hit on ULBRICHTS OPTIO helmet with FORTIS (forehead shield). Result: no perforation and no lethal trauma.
• 5.56x45mm frontal hit on an NIJ IIIA helmet. Result: full penetration and death of its wearer!
• 7.62x39mm MSC frontal hit on ULBRICHTS OPTIO helmet with FORTIS (forehead shield). Result: no perforation and no lethal trauma.
• 7.6x51mm frontal hit on ULBRICHTS OPTIO helmet with FORTIS (forehead shield). Result: no perforation and no lethal trauma
• 7.62x39mm MSC front and side hit on ULBRICHTS ZENTURIO 7.62x39 MSC helmet (stand-alone rifle helmet, not foreseen to receive a forehead shield). Result: no perforation and no lethal trauma

Ever sense Oxide exposed OPS-CORE I’ve been looking for a replacement and this looks like it could be the prefect helmet
Ulbrichts helmets are way heavier than your average helmets but they offer greater protection as well so definitely worth it
this helmet is perfect for modern trench warfare
@@AVGVSTVSPAX The german in ww1 have a good idea after all, You know ww1 m1916 front plate helmet.
@@joecanteen7428 The Stirnpanzer
Good luck getting one
It's freaking incredible. Even though the Zenturio model needs a Fortis plate to stop that M80 round from nearly point blank (and more modern 5.56 ammunition), the fact that it could do it reliably without much back face deformation is a feat on its own. Quite a milestone regarding head ballistic protection. American ballistic helmet manufacturers are crying in a corner.
They are smiling in the corner with mad PROFIT. Those scamming scumbags
@@fizzleshizzle8314what’s the scam?
@@allycatnaranjo8960 duh. American ballistic helmet manufacturers
@@fizzleshizzle8314 But they shot it with real rifle rounds. And it is German, not American.
@@allycatnaranjo8960 dude. You need to learn how to read and comprehend. I was replying to the original comment you silly man.
Hate to say the .308 knocking the shield off reminds me of vidya gameplay where you need 2 headshots on enemies wearing helmets.
To help prevent backface deformation, it is advised to wear more advanced helmet padding that is rated to help cushion impacts
An amazing product!!
Amazing. I'm always very curious about the price of such great things.
mid 4-figures
Deff above 5 grand
I'm guessing about 2-3 months worth of an average mortgage payment or about a month and a half of average wages
Hello and thank you for your amazing content.any estimation on price?
Might have to get one if possible
Holy moly 556 did nothing to the helmet plate
Is it available for Civilian purchase in the US?
lol of course it is
@@ZaMonolith1986I haven’t seen it
Austrians make some fine headwear!
Best gear.
Where can I get one?
its will be great than a facial protection match the helmet
considering the resistance of transparent material maybe a video indirect sight will be requiered what seem not a big chalenge exepted for the global weight
not sure than a grenad or sniper will privilegise top head instead of eye shoot
In Kashmir Indian army Faced Terrorist with Ak 47 with 7.62mm bullets in CQB, it was a big problem.
But DRDO and some private company's have made Helmets and BPJ that can not just stop The normal 7.62mm rounds but 7.62mm mild steel core bullets as well.
Smpp, MKU, Jindal defence and DRDO has Been pioneer in this field.
U should make video's on them as well.🇮🇳
Может со стольным сердечником а не сягкой пулей?
@@denisfalcvein09 Iam sorry I don't understand Russian.
you canot compare 7.62mm*39 from ak47 to 7.62mm*51 from snipers
@@rajatdani619dude. Stop bullshitting. Indians make curry not rifle-rated helmets lol
Awesome 🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
nice but a modern helmet needs to be proof against 5.45 and 5.56 not just the old 7.62x39 round
It's actually pretty damn good if a helmet can resist both 7.62*39"s penetration and backface deformation, your typical american helmet is rated mostly for handgun calibers and 12 gauge. That Zenturio model looks quite advanced, it can even stop .308 with the additional Fortis plate. Which Team Wendy, Ops-Core, 3M or Crye Precision can do that?
i agree it is good by the standards of today but things need to change to a higher standard of protection@@RonJeremy514
tell that to ukranians
Do u survive these shots or will u break ur neck or will ur brain bleed from shock?
Your neck won’t brake because of energy distribution. How do you think people have survived rifle shots even with helmets not rated for rifles?
I would like to see the helmet without the additional protection because the additional part is too big
🫥
the hole in your head will be bigger
Rather bulky than dead
Too big? It's meant for intervention forces willing to use ballistic shields, neck, belly and shoulder armored flaps, along with ballistic screens or mandibles because there is no such thing as "enough" protection in CBQ against terrorists. This is not for your average american tacticool guntuber lacking physical fitness who thinks he knows shit about clearing rooms and rescuing hostages because he bought an Ops-Core helmet and a plate carrier along his gucci AR-15 to make videos showing drills ,shooting paper and steel targets in the open, then reload every 5 shots fired and switch to their secondary like they are doing IPSC or something.
It’s around 600 grams I’m pretty sure
soooo what does the 7.62x51 do to the helmet🤔
Without the additional plate .308 would most certainly obliterate the helmet
@@an000n With the plate of course. Its very suspicious they left out one of the most widely used and effective cartridges out there. Being used by all sorts of guns like asault rifles, battle rifles, light machine guns and gatling guns. Many soldiers will face this cartridge on the battlefield, so to say this helmet protects from rifles, it has to stop this one too.
@@froschreiniger2639 308 is no where near as widely used as 5.56 or 7.62x39
@@an000n but it is one of the most widely used and any soldier that enters a warzone has a good chance of encountering it. Many common soldiers carry weapons chambered in 7.62x51, even older weapons and now the trend is going back to full size rifle cartridges.
@@froschreiniger2639 7.62x51 is normally only used by a designated marksmen. But either way having protection from 7.62x39 is a huge step up from being barely protected from 9mm
what idiot decided to use velcro for attaching the addon armor? that thing would fly off your head into the wind after a couple shots let alone a well placed angular hit
Beach
This video gave me a headache
diformäischna
m855 will go through that im not watching a 9min stupid vid
Все это конечно хорошо но если не за преградное поражение то перелом шеи вам почти обеспечин. Всему есть придел.
Is any limit of russian Illiteracy? 🤔
People have survived shots even with non rifle rated helmets and suffered no neck injuries
Acoustic comment
That was definitely not solid lead core ammo
