  • A crafty friend asked if I would share my process for creating shaker cards... so here we go. This video goes through the process of creating what I consider to be the three easiest, but different styles, of shaker cards in card making. I walk through each different style and give tips and tricks to help make it easy for you. Let me know in the comments below which style you like the best and be sure to share your tips, too!

Fantastic shakers! I love all three, but the last one with the floating pocket is my fave. Adorable! ❤

Thank you Charlene. I love floating parts of the card, it's a fun feel to the design.

Wow Rebecca.....your first card is so elegant!!! I love the insert!!! And a beautiful selection of shaker bits. I love it!!! I love that you upcycle....I do too 😊 My contractor finally caught on that I'm a "trash to treasure" girl and started saving all kinds of things for me.....he even made the electricians leave some things too 😊 I like that you add a variety of shaker bits.....it looks so cool. Technique #3 is my favorite.....I call it a shaker pocket. I like that they can be made to any size you need, and you can see if you have enough shaker bits in it, and it's not messy 😊 Genius way to thread the ribbon!!! Thank you so much for sharing these techniques. Yes, I have been making shakers for years, but it's always nice to watch someone else and maybe learn something new 😊💗🤗 Hugs....Janie

Thank you for watching Janie. You’ll have to do a video showing some of the construction goodies and what you use them for… especially from the electricians! You are so creative I’m sure you’ve got some plans for these things percolating in your brain already. ❤️🤗❤️

I've used the tape method on ribbon before, but have never used the thread method. Thanks for the great tip. Love your cards my friend. TFS ❤

Stunning cards 🤩 What is the little white and yellow thingy you use for the double sided tape? 🤔

Thank you for watching Christina. That little yellow and white thing I use to tear my tape is actually a Cricut Scraper tool. It is so old, and I don't think they make them yellow anymore, now I believe they are lilac colored. I do still use it to clean my Cricut mats... but I use much more often to tear tape with. 😄
