    You make it look so easy and do-able. Thanks for sharing this method to use with QAYG - or - Quilting in Sections - without adding sashing. The results are amazing! :)

    Monica, you are such a good teacher! I love the way you take the time to answer the questions before they are asked! I really appreciate your attention to detail--it saves me so much time so that I can get straight to creating a new quilt. Excellent job again!

    You are a Master at the Quilt As You Go Methods. I can't afford a long-arm sewing machine and special table it fits on for use; plus, I don't have room for such large items in my little house. Right now, I have seven (7) quilt tops almost ready to start quilting. Rather than pay someone to long-arm quilt my quilts for me, I want to spend my Summer vacation quilting them myself using your methods. I hope to be able to master this method this summer and quit dreading having to quilt my own quilts. Piecing the quilt tops is fun; and, quilting them should also be fun. You both looked like you enjoyed every step in the process of making that beautiful quilt. Thank you for these wonderful lessons. You are a master skills teacher.

    May I ask? When you make a appliqué quilt, can it be used and washed? Your fantastic in your explaining, and calm nature! Thank you ❤

    • @PatternPooleTV
      @PatternPooleTV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! Yes an appliqué quilt can be washed and used. The light glue in most fusible web products that is used to adhere the shapes in place before stitching is permanent and stays after washing this combined with the stitching keeps the appliqué secure.

    I'm finished with my quilt and now just need to bind the border. The instructions mention that the binding is cut 3" wide but in the Island Home video that you're referring to, the strips are cut 1.5" wide. Can you please confirm what width I should be cutting the border strips? Thank you in advance!

    Beautiful quilt! I am just getting started quilting and want to do it all myself so quilt as you go will be my method. I have a question as I try to be frugal in my crafting. Since you quilt over the joins is the batting tape really necessary? Is it a cost that can be eliminated?

    • @PatternPooleTV
      @PatternPooleTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! You don't need to use the batting tape, it's really just a convenience but I fell that you will still need to hand stitch the batting even though the seams are quilted as there are spaces that are not quilted and you don't want the batting to move away from the join when the quilt is washed.

    This is a gorgeous quilt. I have a question: what method is used when you have pieced blocks and appliqué blocks like in the Peacock Garden quilt

    • @PatternPooleTV
      @PatternPooleTV  ปีที่แล้ว

      The patchwork blocks in the Peacocks Garden quilt all have a border sewn around them so you don’t have to use a regular 1/4” seam. To join the Peacocks Garden quilt I used the No sashing method with a 3/8” seam and hand sewing on the back.

    can I ask the name of the batting, you Iron on it I use polyester batting and I cant iron on it

    • @PatternPooleTV
      @PatternPooleTV  24 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Brands such as Pellon and Warm and Natural make a cotton batting with a scrim that won’t flatten under the iron when pressed.
