I love the way Hayley looks at Alex all knowingly when she rushes upstairs to respond to the "work" thing. It's amazing how these actors have practically grown up on the show.

I like how Luke, the smallest sibling, became taller than his sisters and Haley stayed exactly he same.

It's pretty often for younger brothers to grow much taller than their sisters once they grew up. I'm exactly the same as Luke. The youngest & having 2 older sisters with huge age gap(13 & 17 years older than me) yet somehow I've become much taller than them now(I'm currently 25 years old).
My 13 years old brother is already taller then me and at 21 I'm definitively not gonna grow taller

Well guys are taller than girls on average but haley and alex are weirdly short, likely because the actors who played them were older than their characters

I've grown up with this show. My parents discovered it back in 2009, and my brother and I started regularly watching with them in 2013. Between 2013 and 2017, the four of us sat down together to watch the new episode every week. Modern Family was a constant throughout my four years of high school. I grew and changed so much during those 4 years, as did the show.
In Fall 2017, I packed my bags and left for college. My family and I agreed i would visit for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and summer, and the 3 of them would continue to watch the show while i was gone. They would save the good episodes for me on the DVR though.
And that has been the routine ever since then. I'll be finishing up college soon, and because of the current pandemic, i came home early this year. For one last time, my mom, dad, brother, and I sat around the dinner table to experience the series finale together.
I'm at a complete loss for words, but let's just say, Modern Family has been a solid show, and this decade-long journey has been one hell of a ride. Thank you

Alex to follow a job to Switzerland with new boyfriend/boss Arvin, Luke attending the University of Oregon, and Haley to live in a million dollar-ish apartment (Cam and Mitchell's old place).

Then a couple days later cam got an offer for his dream job in Missouri (for which he got rejected earlier), they decided to sell the house and move there. Manny went to some art college in london and jay and gloria moved to a new house in palm springs with joe

The Dunphy kids are now grown adults now so no matter where they go Alex, Luke & Haley will always be siblings so in the series finale Haley said Alex & Luke can call her anytime Alex said Luke can visit Switzerland and Luke can still count his sister Haley for relationship advice so he can find some girls to marry with and love him and finally Luke hugs Alex & Haley before they move out they were like a duo so there 2 sides of the original Modern Family kids both on screen and in real life Sarah's/Haley's skin are light brown & Alex & Luke's/Ariel & Nolan's skins are white

After the all years gone, I just used to watch the Modern family show, that’s so sad to say goodbye, so many memories not only the show but also my real life , everything’s change, I do wish all of us would be good in the future. 👌🏻

watching this I understood why parents are so excited when their kids come to visit them or why they wanna visit them.
to be honest it's sad and I feel bad for all the parents out there who had to leave their kids to move out.😢
That moment when you realize your kids are grown up and leaveing home and your gonna miss all of the little things that make you crazy but you don't want to give up
Watching the shows final episode left a sadness and tightness in my chest. I'm 29 now but at the time I lost my dad, my family had all moved around, my childhood friends already had lives and families of their own, and my bf of 4 years had just started finally living our own lives.
I sat there staring at the TV remembering my childhood, my teen years, my friends and lost loved ones. It felt like everything I loved and cherished was all coming to an end. Watching this family grow, love, change, and end was it.
THANK YOU MODERN FAMILY. I’ve been watching this show since I was in second grade now where here 10 years later crazy how time flies and will cherish these memories forever

one of the best and most fulfilling parts of being a parent is watching your children grow up and move out doing things they love.

I think its's hard for an actor like Ed O'neil to have twice a ''second'' family and leave this behind after ten years. He play'd a genieus role as the father in Maried With Children for ten years and of course the role as (grand)father in Modern Family.

I biged the show in a month, it really was like living 10 years in a month, seems like this characters have allways been part of my life
notice how Haley looked at Alex coming up to her room to flirt with arvin(because of y'all didn't know haley was the one that convinced her that arvin really had feelings for her and that look for sure mean't "my work here is finally done:)"
I’m the youngest sibling and the last to move out and it was weird growing up with older siblings and then not having them there suddenly, there’s been several times over my life where I’ve had to move back home or in with one of the siblings and it’s amazing how you can be the independent adult you are but still revert back to the childhood siblings you were and that there are odd little reminders of that.
For instance:
we had just finished my maternal grandmothers wake and we were going for coffee afterwards it was me my brother and my oldest sister and my mum, we were walking out to the parking lot when suddenly my sister yells I bags the front seat and ran to mums car to get into it I paused and said to her
“Sisters name dude we all drove here in our own cars it’s only you going with mum” and it was true if brought my car my brother brought his because we all lived separately in different places but the bagsing of seats was something we’d done as kids
I recently had to move in with my brother while I looked for a place to rent and I haven’t lived with him for 15+ years so it was weird to notice that both of us say and do things that show were definitely related

Last time I checked Alex was trying to fit in with the girls in her class and Haley getting drunk and luke jumping on the trampoline 😢😢

I'm 16 and I'd just started watching the show. Some people might hate how the show turned out but I feel like it's preparing me for the future. All my cousins are in college. They're not just pokemon fans who'd take me out to the park to play with their tiny bootleg pokemon figures anymore, they're studying abroad, music producers and interior designers and fish breeders and all living abroad in Singapore and France and I'm gonna be going to college next year miles away from home leaving my 50 year old parents with my autistic brother who gave them depression when they were in their 30's and it's all just going by so fast. My great grandmother is alive dammit and I have nephews. I haven't given my parents a meaningful anniversary gift since I was a child. When i was 12, my friends started smoking cigarettes with gangs around the district and they'd just started bullying me and belittling me because of my brother and from that point I felt ashamed of my family and just decided to have the least interaction with them when they're at my school. Hid my brother in the car, told my mom to just be somewhere, told my dad to just... Be somewhere. All of that until i was 15 when first saw Modern Family when on TV. In Singapore. Visiting my cousin. A few months later, I started watching it and boy, I started feeling prouder of my family. Joined a support group for people with autistic siblings. Moved to a new school in a new city and man, my friends there generally have better quality.
I still can't believe I'm going to college next year. Taking wildlife conservation. Animals had always kept me company during the dark phase of my family. My mom's depression, my little brother being super violent and my parents just figuring life out. But my parents had always tried their best to smile in front of me and my friends. It was turtles that kept me sane. Me and my parents. My grandfather got me one when i was 4 and it's still alive and well. My brother is also more cheerful now. He may be obese but he's been sweating alot lately. He's been baking cakes and cookies, going out on walks with me, he eats his cookies, but he deserves them. At least he's healthier and happier.

I still have my favorite quotes and the kids grew up well. Haley got her own home and family. Alex got a job where she can thrive. Like was given a second chance to get an education. Manny decided to see the world. This show ended so well
