    very good video in real time...so did service engine light go on when the old pump started going bad? or did car just not start at all one day... I actually have same car and have a $46 fuel coming ... But it turns out my pump is still good..i had a cam sensor totally fail and car would not start 1.5 miles from house... called 3 auto parts stores and the price was $359... i was lucky i already had a spare cam senor i bought a year ago...thanks for sharing

    My wife has a 05 Altima , new fuel pump put in yesterday . Now the car has a hard idle . RPM line shakes to 1 and lower . Sounds like it’s going to turn off until she hits the gas . And the fuel smells weird . Any help with info is greatly appreciated!

      I don't have a lot of experience with that car other than assisting someone with this some years ago.
      You might have a sticking fuel injector causing a lot of excess fuel.
      If you haven't ran it much since the pump was fixed it may just have air in the fuel rail that will bleed out eventually. (Usually doesn't take long).
      Also make sure you didn't leave something like the mass air flow sensor unplugged or the tubing disconnected from the throttle body. The engine may not be reading the air flow.
      If the mass airflow is unplugged it may be running a fuel table that keeps it running but not correctly.

    You should vac off around the pump so you don't get dirt in the tank ... good video .. she should have you change the in line filter if it has one

    TIP: After using a hammer and a screwdriver to get the ring off with great difficulty, I finally got it off but putting the ring back on with the hammer and a screwdriver was even harder. I got my air chisel out and it went on super fast at 100 psi.

    • @hackfreehvac

      Liquid fuel doesn't explode nor ignite unless it is mixed with oxygen.
      At worst an open pool of liquid gasoline just catches fire off of the top where thee vapor is.
      Any vapors allowed to accumulate in the space and mix with surrounding oxygen would flash initially.
      Fuel tanks don't explode like in the movies.
      I worked in an auto mechanic shop with a junk yard about 30 years ago.
      During stripping some vehicles sometimes the fuel tank would get ruptured. One time the owner punctured the tank (thinking it was empty, but needed to have it punctured before they could crush it) while I was using a cutting torch to cut the motor mounts to drop and engine out.
      Well, the fuel came out where he punctured the tan and ran down the frame over where I was cutting.
      All that happened is the fuel caught fire and ran back to the tank where the source of the fuel was, and burned as the fuel drained out. Until the fuel was used up.
      e weren't that worried. It just caused a fire where I was still working. LOL

    • @hackfreehvac
      @hackfreehvac  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      They also shot about every time of ammo into tanks with fuel. They never blow up.

    • @jeankeough845
      @jeankeough845 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No way no I didn't know I tht if a spark from u hammering would be explosive....im petrified of. Gasoline!!

    • @hackfreehvac
      @hackfreehvac  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jeankeough845 With the cover in place the fuel inside won't explode. At worst whatever vapor is in the air outside of the tank would ignite and flash real quickly.
      Probably loose some eyebrows.
      Which I've had happen a time or two with oil furnaces and whatnot back in the day.
      With changing the pump in the car just keep the car well ventilated to prevent fuel vapor from building up in a confined space.

    That wasn't a good example of replacing the fuel pump. First you should have removed the fuse to release the pressure and when you pulled the fuel pump out you should have had a pan to pour the fuel into from the fuel pump then you wouldn't had any fuel spilling in the car.

  • @Pucktechnology
    @Pucktechnology ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Pro tip: don’t use a metal on metal impact while theres gas all over the place

    • @hackfreehvac
      @hackfreehvac  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Pretty unlikely to explode unless the fuel tank is near empty to have enough oxygen for a spark to ever ignite it.
      I worked in the mountains with hillbillies for years who did stuff like this constantly and never had an explosion. Or even a fire.
      You can shoot a tank of gasoline with an entire magazine and you wouldn't get a fire until you spilled enough on the ground.

  • @kwd57

    I would advise you to not use cheap aftermarket fuel pumps. You even have to be careful of some places claiming to be OEM parts.

    That cold air intake is gaining you a bit more horsepower not ricer homie if it was a VQ35DE V6

    • @hackfreehvac
      @hackfreehvac  ปีที่แล้ว

      Metal intake pipe under the hood gains heat.
      Expanded gas means less air density = less power.
      And the common ricer type of "cold air intake" (an oxymoron of a name if there ever was one) just leaves the air intake element open under the hood to where it is now drawing in really hot air from behind the radiator which = expanded gas which = less power.
      The common ricer intake tube + filter kits negate all the gains by heating the air once it gets hot under the hood.
      The only net gain is more noise.

  • @killabee623
