Your comment made our whole teams day! Sorry I couldn't reply sooner, I was having device issues for a couple days. But, yes, Tado makes watching racing very immersive with his flying skills.
They both did very well. I thought there would be a bigger gap in performance between them. But not much difference at all in terms of results. We were hoping to decide on a clear winner, but there wasn't one, and it was a blast finding that out.
Wow! I don't know what to say other than thank you so much! We were hoping to do both trucks justice while legitimately going head to head and trying to win. They are so close it's basically a draw. They can both beat each other at any given time.
They really are. We wanted to be able to have a clear winner, but after the dust settled they were both still standing ready for more with neither getting very far ahead of the other in any area.
I knew someone's feelings would get hurt during this video, and cars don't have feelings (I hope not). Let's give both drivers a participation medal and then we'll go get some ice cream, okay ? Ice cream for everyone. That's the thing when testing trucks\cars: no two people drive the same and no one person drives the same on different days. I blame the fact that we are not all robots. Unless you are a robot, and you're not telling us. If you're a robot, you don't get to choose sides when the robot wars happen.
@Boogie_the_cat hurting feelings isn't my intention here, I perfer to call it constructive criticism. Most of my life I've gotten about 3 corners to adapt to whatever mood my car was in for that particular session. After that it's hit your marks or end up in the wall. I know it's harder to do consistently with RC vehicles but the Key (which is easier said than done) is just to not over drive it.
I heard the Maxx slash is really hard to control with TSM off would've been a cool comparison to see. Or also give the Mojave a gyro too, and its larger supplied pinion. I personally think the mojaves body and ride height looks better. I'm a little biased though since i own one 😂 probably my favorite rc car it's hell on wheels. Great video, keep em coming !
Funny you'd mention that, we're doing a part 2 with both on a gyro, and both running their stock tires, then swapping tires, then both running each other's stock tires at the same time.
I was surprised they ended up as similar as they did. Both trucks do hold a small advantage over the other in certain areas, but overall they are more similar in performance than they are different from each other.
That drone pilot has some great skills. I would have had another drone, perhaps 15-20 feet high, also giving the viewers that “eye in the sky” view. Keep up the AWESOME reviews.
That would be Tado, and he makes watching RC races fun and puts you right in the action with the cars. A second higher up drone is a good idea, we'll give that a try sometime soon. I appreciate the tip on that btw.
@ …just imagine the view… the cars racing on the ball field… the fpv drone following…and the “eye in the sky” drone capturing it all. Additional footage to incorporate for editing for sure.
I actually really liked your comparison, I watched it a few times. We just figured it could be fun to take a crew out and put these trucks directly head to head. Turns out it's so close there isn't really a clear winner. They can both beat each other pretty evenly.
Thank you Chris! Both trucks are so good, we couldn't really pick a clear winner. We actually wanted to do so, to see if we could get the fanboys of either truck fired up, but the trucks are so close and both have advantages over the other. It's a matter of preference at this point it seems.
Big thanks to Tato for the awesome drone footage 🔥🤘🏻 That was some nice racing guys… I’d say y’all’s driving skills are pretty dang even… Throttle control and breaking is key to winning races especially when you have two evenly matched trucks… With a little tuning you could make these trucks perform even better like getting more forward bite so the truck rotates on the sharp turns a little better… I noticed both trucks were pushing a bit but I’m sure that’s due to the hoons not being the greatest off road tires… Definitely a great comparison idea running the exact same tires though… I would like to see them with the same off road tires… Both run the Max tires then both run the Mojave tires… That would be cool to see, Just a thought hehe… Keep up the great RC content… Definitely one of my favorites and I watch A LOT of RC channels lol but nobody does it quite like you guys!!! 🔥🤘🏻
Tado makes the races worth watching! You're right, both trucks were pushing, especially on the cone course. I had to recklessly mash the throttle on the Maxx slash to make it turn in hard and kick the rear around the few times it did so. I saw Adam doing the same a few times with the Mojave as well. Those hoons have crazy grip on the road, and no grip off road, so it's pushing either way. We're planning a follow up video with both trucks running stock tires, and both trucks running each other's stock tires.
It sure was a close match up, these trucks are very capable, we were surprised it was as close as it was. Maxx slash has an edge in speed out of the box, Mojave has an edge over rough terrain, just two good trucks.
Yep we have it now. I was due to start filming today for it, but I'm sick as a dog and the weather was awful. I'm very excited for it though. Just looking at it makes me want to drive it.
Those trucks were so close in performance, it made the racing very intense and there really was never a clear winner. Either truck could beat the other, it all just comes down to the driving. In Adams defense, I've had the Maxx slash much longer than he's had his Mojave. He's only driven his Mojave maybe 4 times, and that was his first time racing another 6s powered truck with it. He'll get better and better. He evolves quickly.
I have had the mohave for a few years. Love how soft the suspension is. I personally love the UDR but I can’t commit to the wrench time on those. Maxx is probably faster just based on weight and suspension tuning. Mojave has MUCH more active suspension which I love!
Thank you so much, and you just gave me an idea, we'll try to make a point of telling what batteries we're running in the cars for you guys, we'll start linking where we get them as well, In case you would like to check them out.
Love the video but I don't understand that same tire situation. I like the idea to compare them same time in races but I like to see how they compare with their stock out of the box wheels on any terrain. Maybe we could see a round 2 on stock wheels? :)
Awesome man! Would like too see both on stock tiers. Great video again. I have the mojave and it handels great. Just orderd the fireteam on a blackfriday deal.

Funny thing is, we we're actually hoping to decide on a clear winner to get the fanboys of both fired up. But, it was so close, I think both sides would be happy.
Agreed! They are both great and the Maxx slash does get a bad rap for no reason, it absolutely rips, and at high speeds it's planted and steady as a rock. It takes an incredible beating as well.
Did this Mojave have the newer gray updated esc? Apparently now you can update those to the higher output of the v6 Kraton and Notorious. I know they put the updated electronics in all the 6s vehicles now.
I was going to answer, but I see Adam beat me to it. Check out his channel btw, FIX RC. It's brand new so we're still working on getting his content made. But check him out.
In terms of speed, it's not quite as fast as either of these out of the box. But off road the super Baja rey is massive and glides along smoothly. That would be a good match up actually!
We try to be informative without dwelling too long on a given subject. You viewers know RC cars very well (often better than us), so you don't really need us explaining every detail. You want the ACTION and we want it too! Actually I learn a lot from viewers comments when it comes to RC cars, you guys know your stuff.
I think either truck can beat the other depending on the race, and the driver. We hoped for a clear winner, but it was all so close we couldn't really pick one.
You can see on the turns the Max Slash had big issues from body roll, not having sway bars. However, the Hoons tires negated that big handicap from lowering the center of gravity a lot. From all the other videos I see, even Traxxas fanboys are angry about how poorly the Slash runs on off-road tires. Full stop. Because you know something has to be BAD when a Traxxas diehard fanboys will actually call Traxxas out for making a mistake. Just look at all the fanboys gaslighting each other over how the Mini Maxx is "the best mini truck" 😮🤣 Look, people can like whatever brand they want, but diehard Traxxas fanboys make me uncomfortable. It's like a cult, and they can never admit how Traxxas cut every corner on the Mini Maxx, charged $100 more than the competition, goes 20mph slower than a $150 Chinese car, AND shreds diffs on 3s, even though Traxxas.com says the diffs are 3s ready and bombproof. It feels like the Jim Jones Heavens Gate cult, they're all drinking the Kool Aid, waiting for the alien spaceship to pick them up. I'm not an Arrma fanboy, I own Arrma and Team Corally. I suggest against being a fanboy for any company. These companies aren't your friend, and fanboyism makes people blind. If Traxxas had their way, we'd only drive Traxxas RCs, use Traxxas batteries, buy Traxxas parts, the aftermarket would not exist, and the hobby would be twice as expensive. But diehard fanboys want to live in that shitty world apparently. It's sad. Traxxas designs nice sturdy chassis's. I'd never buy their products because they don't offer rollers and I don't want their trash ESC or their plastic geared servos. I also don't want the money I pay for a truck to be used to sue smaller companies for infringement on a patent that really shouldn't have been granted. Imagine if 1:1 car manufacturers were allowed to put a patent on a waterproof box: every other car would have rusty electronics. That patent was too general to be conscientiously granted to Traxxas, the lawsuit was BS. I'm not giving that company any money, their souls are filled with feces.
Looks like arrma has more travel. For this kind off running conditions i would say slash was doing better. Think might be opposite when terrain gets ruffer. But hey, both looked good...
I agree, the rougher terrain would suit the Mojave better, the Maxx slash is very fast, durable and handles well, but it has very little shock travel for its size and weight. It really handles so differently from what you'd expect from an SCT. It's not bad, it just takes a bit of getting used to.
I love both aarma and traxxas, but in this video the slash won like everything, but you kept saying your not quite ready to give it the lead, at one point in the race accross the field , the aarma wipes out and you claim redo, and the slash wipes out and you give it to the aarma, I think we all see the traxxas won , not by a lot, but it did indeed win overall. Im not just making this up either, we have the video as proof, the slash won like every event lol. Once again I love aarma and traxxas the same, just calling it how it is.
The difference between calling a redo for the Arrma but not the Traxxas in the field race was because our rule on that race is that when it only involves two cars, if there is a crash out before completion of the first lap, we do a redo. If the first lap has been completed, the race stands. The Traxxas crashed just after crossing our designated line marking the end of lap one. I wasn't showing bias, I own the Traxxas, but I also recognize that any driver could have won any of those races with either truck depending on how a given race goes. I agree the Maxx slash did edge more wins, but neither truck was really ever dominant over the other. Basically speaking, in terms of performance, they are basically the same overall, each with a slight advantage in specific areas of performance.
@@Rek_Rc I also feel like your the better driver out of the two, so that could have something to do with why the traxxas won every event. Either way they are both awesome trucks and i would happily own either, I own the maxx slash, but my buddies have the aarma and we have some fun racing out on the track.
On dirt I'm a good driver, Adam tends to out perform me in the field race, but that day he was a bit off. Actually with the tire change we both kind of were. We should have swapped trucks a few times for the video, that would have shown a bit of difference as well. But we are planning a follow up video where both trucks run stock tires. In that case the Maxx slash will win on the road, I think the Mojave may deal with the rougher terrain a bit better, but the Maxx slash speed may keep it competitive off road. We'll see pretty soon!
@@Rek_Rc Ill be sure to check back! Was a cool video especially with the drone footage. Yeah my buddies Mojave seems to absorb the rough terrain better than the slash does. Keep up the entertaining videos and it was nice chatting with you!

Hopefully we can crank out content more frequently after the holidays, but we have 4 videos planned for December. BTW, your comment made my day, thank you!
It's a bit faster, but in terms of racing, either one could beat the other. I just have a lot more experience with the Maxx slash than Adam does the Mojave at this point, but in the part 2 video, that will no longer be the case. It's going to be intense.

@mikehaugen4177 thank you! I really appreciate your comments, and I appreciate a little constructive criticism as well. You made some good points and I'm glad you took the time to share your thoughts.
i've been going through Rek RC withdrawal
Hopefully we can crank out content more frequently after the holidays, but we have 4 videos planned for December. BTW, your comment made my day, thank you!
I’m not a fan boy of either company, but I’m gonna say max slash wins by far
It's a bit faster, but in terms of racing, either one could beat the other. I just have a lot more experience with the Maxx slash than Adam does the Mojave at this point, but in the part 2 video, that will no longer be the case. It's going to be intense.
