I'm sorry I've not ridden the 605 recently but that family of Whyte's have always handled really well. Have a look at the Calibre, Vitus and Ragley bikes around that price too though.
Top review Guy......I've got to say it's not my cup of tea, that Marin just looks damn ugly period.I too, thought this must be an E-Bike,as you say the BB is really low, frightingly low,and the weight, did I hear you correctly 15.4 KG ?...that's nearly 34 Ib s!I can also see a lot of areas around the rear suspension where you could pick up a lot of crud, have you witnessed this,or has it been ok ?BTW Loved the 2020 Orange Five RS you reviewed, that looked and performed like a true thouroughbred, much more my type of bike, horses for courses I guess, anyway, keep up the good work Mr K.
Thanks fella, yeah the weight is correct. Not light for the cash or all that carbon but then there is a LOT going on and it really does hide it well when pedalling. Orange is a long way away aesthetically for sure, but actually probably one of the closest bikes in terms of suspension action. Not as much as the older, higher pivot Oranges though. Glad you're enjoying the reviews anyway.
Thanks Guy,I've been following your bike reviews since you did one back in 1997-98 on my first full suss,a Marin Mount Vision Pro,which you did on the North York Moors, can't remember the magazine now,but you sold it to me,sure enough.
lostboy8814 haha MBR 1997, Paul Lazenby’s national champs winning bike and a Moots EBB softail. Shot up above Osmotherly. We even had a Nissan 4x4 on loan for that - them were the days 🤣
Great job Guy! Matt

@@GuyKesTV lol lets hope not im betting both will be pretty special, also i think UK designed bikes are in a great place right now :)
A best of British would be good. Cotic, Hope, Pace and Orange.
Hi Guy, a bit unrelated to the video but I was wondering what your thoughts were on the Whyte 605 hardtail, I cant find any reviews anywhere. Thanks
