I love your authenticity its such a joy to watch. I am also of a certain age and trying to learn French. My French classes in Australia are lots of fun but yours seem more so in many in hilarious and educational ways!! I think you are both doing extremely well - your beer orders positively rolled off the tongue like locals! 😀🦘À semaine prochaine!
Toothpaste - so embarrassing...was tempted to cut sequence... but I guess it could have been worse! 😂 Thanks so much for watching from across the big pond! Richard
Brilliant as usual complete with Richard and his toothpaste 😂. It has turned really cold now. Maybe Malaga is calling you 🤔. I’ve started learning Spanish and it’s soooo much easier. Helps having the French knowledge though as some things are similar. Maria, I am with you on the Oysters and the Olives. Can’t get away with Olives no matter how many times I try and as for Oysters 🙄 apart from tasting like you’ve had a mouthful of the sea I don’t understand the point of buying something that you’re supposed to just let slide down your throat 😂 what a waste. Anyhoo hope you got all nice and toasty afterwards with the fire 😊
Great vlog as usual. We went to the Christmas market in Sarlat last week. Lovely market but my goodness, the traffic!! First time in Sarlat and probably the last - parking was a nightmare 😱
Your weekly adventures never disappoint.😄 After many years, my husband finally got me to slurp raw oysters from the shell. I actually LIKED them with a squeeze of lemon and a dash of Tobasco.... That was until I learned that the little buggers are still live when we eat them! Sorry, Maria.😳
yes there were! Amazing, they seem to be sold a lot in this region, one of my friends is a michelin star chef, his Coquille Saint Jacques dish is to die for - but he doesn't share his recipes otherwise would share!
Those French lessons look like fun! In your last video Maria was wearing a tshirt…..a but different for you this week! A bit jealous actually, it’s going to be 40 degrees Celsius here in south western Sydney tomorrow. 🥵🔥🥵How cold does it get for you in mid winter?
It’s just gone from lovely to frosty. Still warm in the sun though. 40 degrees is unbearable. We had a week of high 30’s here in the summer. Thank goodness for air con and the pool 😅
I’m well jell.. love the heat! Is the ice bar still in Sydney? It can be as warm as 20 degrees in the sun during the daytime but it plummets below zero overnight if it’s clear! On cloudy and rainy days it’s between 8 and 12 during the day. Rich
In truth, we are getting there albeit slowly, your brain must work in a very different way to mine though! I had to retake a professional level drone exam recently, and found that harder than learning french despite having an extensive knowledge of aviation! So I guess it's just me with an allergy to lessons! Richard
I love you guys and enjoy your channel very much. I just wish the music wasn't going all the time and so loud. It makes it hard to hear your lovely banter and the natural background sounds which conflict with the music always going. You're doing so well with your content. Happy holidays
Thank you. We have mixed comments on music, with many loving the feel good factor we put in place. But we do love good creative criticism. The music is held down, but as you say can conflict with the natural sound effects. Will take note and be a little more careful :)
Another wonderful vlog.
Thank you so much!

Merci, oui, au revoir! 😂 thank you... we are trying honestly!
Our beer orders are well practiced 😂. French is so hard and the accent here is very difficult 🤓 but we keep trying x
I love all your videos but this one was especially funny, the toothpaste lol! From a kiwi in the USA Francophile

I should have noticed really. 😂Not sure I would have told him though 😂😂

I couldn’t eat them with the sea water. Yuk. I love olives though. R doesn’t 😂. Well done on the Spanish. Maybe that’s next for us 😂❤

Never been. We are so used to not having traffic jams these days when we used to just except them before. Gotta love France 🇫🇷 😂

slippery little suckers! They were actually very tasty though! I just need to get Maria to slurp them! Loving the tobasco idea! Richard
I think I’ve eaten my last oyster now I know that. 😬. Just wish I knew that on Saturday 🤦♀️🤣
Coquille Saint Jacques! One of my favorites. Were those oysters from Marenne Oleron?
yes there were! Amazing, they seem to be sold a lot in this region, one of my friends is a michelin star chef, his Coquille Saint Jacques dish is to die for - but he doesn't share his recipes otherwise would share!
I’m a bit embarrassed at my piping of the mash potatoes. I gave away my piping bags and had to improvise 😂. First attempt so can only get better. 🙏🏼

How people can't at any age learn or a language is beyond me. I am relearning German & starting Italian. Its a state of immersing.

Never discard the oyster liquor (the liquid in the shell). It has all the flavour and mixed with lemon or a drop of Tabasco, it is divine😋
Oooh thank you, as mentioned us Hall’s are very much oyster novices so all tips gratefully received! :)
