I received mine at the same time as you. I set the frequency to 700 for a week and then went to 750. It's been stable and hashing over 16k sol/s. Happy mining!
Great video as usual! After watching your fan video, I mounted a 2.7amp fan on the front of my Z9 mini with zip ties and it significantly improves cooling. Can run under 69c in 95f ambient room. The bad news is it sounds like an S9 or a jet taking off! My profits went up last week with the BTC spike but long term I know I'll get my money back out of the mini. It's a great little miner.

Great video. Thank you so much. I have one question that I cant seem to find an answer to - I currently have a GPU mining rig that uses two Corsair RM 1000W PSUs and the 13 GPU mobo from AsRock. I've sold some of the cards and only 10xGTX 1060s remain at 85W. The idea was to keep the setup cool and at max eficiency of the PSUs, thats why the overkill. Glad that I did so because I have some z9 minis on the way without the PSU from bitmain. My question is - Is is a problem to hook ASICs and GPUs to the same ATX PSU? It shouldnt be, but I've been dealing with PC problems for a long time, and I know that there things run on magic, pixi-dust and unicorn tears - so logic sometimes is out the door :D

Great update... just curious, I've been running at 750M for over a month now with no problems at all avg 16.4 sols. Are you pushing yours? Has anyone had a problem with long term overclocking?
That's the thing, there are no long term experiences with the z9mini. In my opinion it all depends on your temps. I decided not to go further OC wise until I can install a better fan mod, because I was going over 70 ° C, but that's just personal preference, some people have no problems with pushing temps higher. Regarding Antminer OCing in general, my L3+ was overclocked on arrival and is still running well, that's all I can say for long term overclocking experiences. Cheers Lee!
Are you getting the Z9? Also, BTG has so much potential, especially with price, and it's stated goal from the start to integrate the lightning network, it's on a LOT of exchanges. Only issue it has is adopting vendors to use the coin, if it can't do this soon, it will go down hard, if it does, it's going to the moon. Amazing Crypto, lots of potential and passion, has some struggles.

Yes, with every Antminer/Bitmain video I always try to also mention all the critical points, also in this one there is an outlook to the future where I mention exactly what I told you (Batch 2, Innosil., Z9 etc.). - and I totally agree with you, Bitmain have really destroyed the Scrypt field now too with their L3+/L3++ flooding... that's a pity and I also agree what you say about the Z9mini's energycosts. For me it will be a long time before it can become unprofitable for me, that's why I went for the machine =)

Hey man! No I am not buying this machine. I saw that the connection and set up is very centralised. So you HAVE to log in through THEIR homepage, and can't access the miner directly. I think this is very dangerous (they can overtake your miner anytime they want). Also, if wanted a big Equihash machine I'd go for the Innosilicon A9 right now, not the Zeon thing to be honest. I hope my opinion could help you

That's not how it works, I don't look at $ per day, I look at maximising coins and hodl - that's how I made good profits in the past. Everybody looks at calculators so as soon as a hype is there, it is already too late. But you can check asicminervalue.com for dollar numbers if you are set on this. My tip is to smart small, diversify etc. Mining is no rich-quick scheme. Hope I could help
I'm still pissed I couldn't get a Z9 mini two weeks ago. I could have got one fore $800. The stupid Bitmain site wasn't working for me for some reason and the customer service was horrible, they didn't even try to figure out what was wrong. BTC is impossible to mine now, you would have to have an insanely massive rig that uses up thousands of watts just to get anywhere.
I was mining on zhash pro and understood very late they are no honestly giving you all your coins... did deep review, and many ppl claim that they are lower for 10-20%, so i tried many pools and stopped on f2pool, which is still giving me more than 1 zen while zhash is 0.77...

I'd say yes, but it always depends on your philosophy and for how long you have been mining. I try not to look at $perDay too much and try to pay my electricity from other crypto jobs / endeavours. What I mine is only touched to expand the farm, rest I see as my long term portfolio. I'd also state that one of my biggest mistakes was to sell the miners in 2014/15 with which I've been mining in 2013... =D I don't care for bear markets, cheers =)
I understand Mike! Do you already have something like a Gaming PC, or unutilised CPUs? That's a good way to start, I also started with the stuff I already had, so CPU / GPU (because I always did video). Then I expanded into USB Miners because they were small and affordable. That's how I learned the basics and then started to expand in phases. Now for example GPU prices are falling again, but still harder to reach ROI than say one year ago, still, sometimes I am snatching up deals here and there to expand or to test out new things, or algos I haven't touched. I hope I could help a bit, not easy to say everything in a comment one would like to say =D I also have videos on CPU mining on the channel if you are interested as a start, cheers =)

Hey there! Nope not anymore! They changed their algo like two weeks after the first batch of Z9mini was released. It is still called Equihash, but another variant which can only be mined with GPU (if there are not secret ASICs / FPGA on it already). Hope I could help

In regard to my last answer I can't tell you, not because I don't want to, but because I am mining at least 7 - 8 different projects at the same time. Also at the moment is still bear market. The same numbers can change every day. Always try to maximize coins :)
There's always the "just-buy-the-coin" option and often it is the better choice, but I only expand the "farm" with mining earnings, so the Z9mini gamble was OK =) still get where you are coming from mate, thanks for tuning in =)
Better sell while you can...when coin went to ASIC in couple months all profit will go to just one place...Bitmain...people were paying with customs 2000 $ for L3+ for litecoin last summer ..it earned 20$ a day..now is 10 cents a day ..and you cant sell it for 100$

If it's not overheating because of a stuffed warm room there is nothing to worry about, these things are meant for 24/7 usage. Also powering down is no danger at all - cheers
I don't think over clocking these is bad because by the time you burn them up they have pretty much outlive d there productive life because they are being replaced by newer better models every year to 18 months

I just answered your other comment. BTG is not on classic Equihash anymore so this numbers are not real. BTG changed algo with complete new numbers, only minable with GPU.
What do you want to mine? BTG? mind that it is not as profitable as it seems with those calculators. Or if you still want Z9mini it is: ZCash, Zen, Komodo etc. - GPUs have more variety but less specialised etc - endless possibilities. Happy to help but need to know more

Hey man - you are very welcome. The thing with mining is, the questions you asked are impossible to answer. So this video was only about the first month and already in this time-frame, it dropped from like 1.4 ZenCash a day to 0.8 ZenCash a day. It will get much lower when batch 2 (End of August / Sept) and other machines (Z9 without mini) hit the market. So that were some hard facts I know, but that's what makes these questions impossible to answer. With an ASIC (not GPU where you can change Algo) there is also this risk attached that earnings drop tremendously as soon as too many machines hit the market. Coin-wise, my favourites for mining with it were shown in the video, except for BTG which I mentioned I don't know much about. I hope I could help at least a bit, sorry that there are no definite answers, cheers mate and welcome to the channel!
Difficult for me to answer but here are some questions which can help you: What do you already have (CPU / GPU) ? Where would you be mining? (apartment / own room etc.) Do you have disposable income / earnings from crypto you want to put into mining etc.? I started small and built up my small farm only slowly, I think this is the safest way to do it. I hope I could help, cheers

This guy is talking GPU mining rigs - so they are more costly to set up than "just" to buy an Antminer, but you can change your algos whenever your like and have many more options. So maybe, if you already own a PC, it could be a good way to start your mining career. I also have videos on GPU mining rigs on the channel for different styles, for example AMD Rig in Open Air frame or nVidia Rig in Octominer Board & case. Maybe checking the vids out can help you decide

Nope. They're still in stock on Bitmain's website! Been watching the difficulty curves (ZEC) for a couple of weeks and so far things aren't too bad. We saw a bit swing downwards in ZEC difficulty, probably after batch 2 was taken off of pre-mine for shipping.
I'm a new miner I'm not against ASIC I think they are cool machines but I support more GPU miners since I have read many bad news from ASIC making difficult higher, and you get stuck on a single algorithm, so I'm happy with graphics cards being able to switch to forks coins or new coins where ASIC isnt present.

Hey mate! Impossible to tell, as I said in the video, earnings are dropping daily because more and more equihash ASICs are coming online. So in 15 days it will be worse than now, when it is not profitable anymore for you... I can't answer that I am sorry! Regarding pools: If you simply want to have and forget BTC then NiceHash is OK, but I'd rather decide for a project you believe in, download the core wallet and go for it long term, mine it and hold, but that's only how I do it. I haven't started mining yet, I'm interested in getting into it but I don't want to pour my money into a miner, you know?
I understand Mike! Do you already have something like a Gaming PC, or unutilised CPUs? That's a good way to start, I also started with the stuff I already had, so CPU / GPU (because I always did video). Then I expanded into USB Miners because they were small and affordable. That's how I learned the basics and then started to expand in phases. Now for example GPU prices are falling again, but still harder to reach ROI than say one year ago, still, sometimes I am snatching up deals here and there to expand or to test out new things, or algos I haven't touched. I hope I could help a bit, not easy to say everything in a comment one would like to say =D I also have videos on CPU mining on the channel if you are interested as a start, cheers =)

Hello! First of all: I always reply to the comments on my channel =) Where you set your pools in the miner interface, there is an advanced tab, there you can set the frequency for overclock. You can check my "Unboxing and Setup" Video, there I show my first overclock

Hey there! Nope not anymore! They changed their algo like two weeks after the first batch of Z9mini was released. It is still called Equihash, but another variant which can only be mined with GPU (if there are not secret ASICs / FPGA on it already). Hope I could help

BTG have already forked unfortunately, so now it is on tweaked Equihash and can't be mined anymore with Z9. Greetings

I don't think Zcash or Zen will fork away mate =) for BTG nVidia cards are now very good, especially around the fork it was profitable =)

In regard to my last answer I can't tell you, not because I don't want to, but because I am mining at least 7 - 8 different projects at the same time. Also at the moment is still bear market. The same numbers can change every day. Always try to maximize coins :)

for $2k you could've just bought 0.34722 BTC at 5760, or waited till it hit the bottom sometime this year and buy even more. Home mining is finished.
There's always the "just-buy-the-coin" option and often it is the better choice, but I only expand the "farm" with mining earnings, so the Z9mini gamble was OK =) still get where you are coming from mate, thanks for tuning in =)

Better sell while you can...when coin went to ASIC in couple months all profit will go to just one place...Bitmain...people were paying with customs 2000 $ for L3+ for litecoin last summer ..it earned 20$ a day..now is 10 cents a day ..and you cant sell it for 100$

I was about to buy an Antminer Z9 mini, even with a discount coupon, however reviewing the difficulty has gone up 81.55% last 3 months and 44.57% the last month in ZCash, if I ask now and it will come in a month surely the gains They will be at less than 10 USD per day and I think it's not worth it

If it's not overheating because of a stuffed warm room there is nothing to worry about, these things are meant for 24/7 usage. Also powering down is no danger at all - cheers

I don't think over clocking these is bad because by the time you burn them up they have pretty much outlive d there productive life because they are being replaced by newer better models every year to 18 months

I think ROI for batch 2 might be difficult, for batch 1 profits have already dropped more than double since I got batch 1 and I guess it will get worse when batch 2 hits... still impossible to answer though, might very well return its investement perfectly, hard to tell, Equihash is being flooded with machines. I just answered your other comment. BTG is not on classic Equihash anymore so this numbers are not real. BTG changed algo with complete new numbers, only minable with GPU.

What do you want to mine? BTG? mind that it is not as profitable as it seems with those calculators. Or if you still want Z9mini it is: ZCash, Zen, Komodo etc. - GPUs have more variety but less specialised etc - endless possibilities. Happy to help but need to know more

Hey man - you are very welcome. The thing with mining is, the questions you asked are impossible to answer. So this video was only about the first month and already in this time-frame, it dropped from like 1.4 ZenCash a day to 0.8 ZenCash a day. It will get much lower when batch 2 (End of August / Sept) and other machines (Z9 without mini) hit the market. So that were some hard facts I know, but that's what makes these questions impossible to answer. With an ASIC (not GPU where you can change Algo) there is also this risk attached that earnings drop tremendously as soon as too many machines hit the market. Coin-wise, my favourites for mining with it were shown in the video, except for BTG which I mentioned I don't know much about. I hope I could help at least a bit, sorry that there are no definite answers, cheers mate and welcome to the channel!

Difficult for me to answer but here are some questions which can help you: What do you already have (CPU / GPU) ? Where would you be mining? (apartment / own room etc.) Do you have disposable income / earnings from crypto you want to put into mining etc.? I started small and built up my small farm only slowly, I think this is the safest way to do it. I hope I could help, cheers

This guy is talking GPU mining rigs - so they are more costly to set up than "just" to buy an Antminer, but you can change your algos whenever your like and have many more options. So maybe, if you already own a PC, it could be a good way to start your mining career. I also have videos on GPU mining rigs on the channel for different styles, for example AMD Rig in Open Air frame or nVidia Rig in Octominer Board & case. Maybe checking the vids out can help you decide

Nope. They're still in stock on Bitmain's website! Been watching the difficulty curves (ZEC) for a couple of weeks and so far things aren't too bad. We saw a bit swing downwards in ZEC difficulty, probably after batch 2 was taken off of pre-mine for shipping.
I'm a new miner I'm not against ASIC I think they are cool machines but I support more GPU miners since I have read many bad news from ASIC making difficult higher, and you get stuck on a single algorithm, so I'm happy with graphics cards being able to switch to forks coins or new coins where ASIC isnt present.

Hey mate! Impossible to tell, as I said in the video, earnings are dropping daily because more and more equihash ASICs are coming online. So in 15 days it will be worse than now, when it is not profitable anymore for you... I can't answer that I am sorry! Regarding pools: If you simply want to have and forget BTC then NiceHash is OK, but I'd rather decide for a project you believe in, download the core wallet and go for it long term, mine it and hold, but that's only how I do it. I hope I could help you with this info cheers
