Fascinating! What really stands out to me from these systems videos is how much of the design is driven by the regulations, societal perceptions, and available technology at the time.
Very helpful - thank you! One clarification: If the recall brings up WARNINGs that have not been previously shown, these would not be considered important to the safety of the flight if I understand correctly. So is the only purpose behind doing so many recalls, to get a bigger picture of what may be happening? In other words, these warnings would likely never cause the pilots to cancel the takeoff, or return to the airport - correct?
Was always wondering why boeing wouldn't develop a new and modern crew alerting system even for MAXes, like airbus ecam showing detailed alert messages on upper display
@@A330Driver Truth seems to settle somewhere inbetween. Giving the MAX an (EI)CAS would not have saved these lifes because it would not have come up with an indication on the screen. Feeded with false data vom just a single AoA sensor MCAS did exactly what it was designed for. Keeping nose down by ELEC TRIM whatever it takes. But where I tend to agree with Christopher is that Boeing maliciously sold the MAX as an -800 with bigger engines and better fuel efficiency. Which she is not. Implementing MCAS into documentation an training would have been mandatory. Resetting Flaps to 1 puts MCAS spook to an end. But you need to know.
been "flying" on the 73 variant in the flightsim realm for awhile and these videos are insightful, thanks for putting them together.
very well explained
"Red Thingie" Definitely a valid term in the Flight Operations Manual 😉

Thanks for the video. That was something I always wondered about.
I'm glad you liked it Paul!
This was interesting and something I always wondered about. I believed wrongly it was to verify all warnings work
...a little more than just checking for burned out light bulbs in the 6 pack. Appreciate the insight!
Very good info as usual Emi. Thanks!
I saw Recalls and I thought this video was about Ford! 😂
Or Volkswagen..
Or clothes driers and washing machines
Great, never understood the recall item in my check list.
Interesting. Thanks.
Tnx Capt

hello, my colleagues are curious how you find time to record movies and work as a line pilot??? best regards, Marcin
He said he records several at a time
I hope my car could do the same so I don't have to be annoyed by washer quantity warning light everyday
Sounds like boeings take on Airbus Class 3 failures..

Hi Eugene, it would mean major training efforts for the crews, costing the industry millions of dollars. The 737s system works, so why change it?
@@A330Driver that attitude killed 300 innocent people.
@@simulacrae No. Please familiarize yourself with the entire reports and what actually happened before posting something like this.

@@glubbgluckbut the max cockpit looks so much different than the 800
Why, the 737 is the biggest piece of crap Boeing ever made.
Sales numbers certainly disagree with you.
