If you have not reviewed it yet, listen to Morning Has Broken. Beautiful. Thanks for choosing Peace Train. Fantastic song!
If he didn't cry to this song, he for sure will for Morning has Broken.
He did a great reaction to “Morning has Broken”. th-cam.com/video/eP3B6Q3pfzs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=73BsXWPW1RuHtwH1. Enjoy!
@@gl15col Rick Wakeman does the piano work on "Morning...." Just phenomenal.
Fantastic choice. Back in the early seventies everybody had at least one Cat Stevens album.
Yes, this album and Teaser and the Firecat, I played them to death along with James Taylor's Sweet Baby James and Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Good times in the 70's.
I had them an still have them all.
@@jackempson3044 Me too!
Greetings Uncle Phil. Thanks for checking out the reaction. 👍👍👍
Still have them too.
He definitely one of the best singer songwriters from the 70’s, I stand corrected he’s the greatest songwriters Ever!
Cat Stevens is 1 of the greatest songwriters ever!
Absolutely!
@@seveglider8406 I agree completely, my first album I ever bought was Tea for the Tillerman
@@johnthegreek5836 I saw Cat Stevens perform in N.Y.C. at the Winter Garden Theatre. Capacity is less than 1,600 people. I was in the 4th. row center stage. Great place to see him perform.
There's a 1971 comedy film called Harold and Maude. It's soundtrack is nothing but songs by Cat Stevens. :) A real treat. Enjoy.
That was such a fantastic movie 😂
I loved the Cat Steven’s songs, too 🎉
@@iandowney4630 :) H & M came out in 1971 when I was a Junior in high school. It's a real pleasure these days to be able to see the music uploads here and enjoy the movie all over again.
@@JustMe-vk4fn To this day, Harold and Maude is one of my favorite movies 😂 Just thinking about it makes me smile.
Yours was the only post that mentioned it. I think about Cat Stevens whenever I think of the movie, and vice versa. It’s great to have a channel where we can enjoy the songs with a community of music lovers! I can picture the movie theater still…💭🙂
Where Do The Children Play? That's the next thing you should listen to by Cat Stevens. 😊
He toured up to last year as Yusuf/Cat Stevens. His Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in 2014 is really worth watching.
Classic Cat Stevens! Excellent selection and reaction -- thanks, Imadrummin and Harri!
You are welcome my friend. 👍
I very much believe that putting this positivity out into the Universe makes a difference. It can change the way individual listeners feel and that has a ripple effect.
❤😊❤
Harri--you need an update on Cat Stevens/Yusuf Islam. He came back to recording music at the urging of his eldest son. Yusuf has since recorded new music, gone on tours, and played with contemporary artists varying from Sheryl Crow to Chris Cornell. He is *out* there. His TH-cam account is very active, especially with the world's events now. I strongly recommend you check out his song, "Roadsinger", an autobiographical song from the album of the same name. Peace. ☮️
❤❤❤
Thank you for reacting to this song. One of my favorites.
Excellent choice Imadrummin, I am shocked that Harri hadn't heard this. I agree Harri, he could have done both.
My pleasure Cynthia. More Cat Stevens on the way. 👍👍👍
@@Imadrummin👍👍👍🥰🤩🙏
I've been a Cat Stevens fan for many years! All of his songs are just amazing. The live version of this song it fantastic! Thanks for reacting to the song!
Me too. He is in my top 3!
Miles From Nowhere is a great song ✌️
Thank you so much Harri and Imadrummin! I fell in love with Cat Stevens' music in Jr High School and love it still. This is certainly a favorite.
👍👍👍
He is and has been doing "both". His name Is Yusuf Islam, and has put out several albums in the last ten years and tours regularly as Yusuf/Cat Stevens.
Thanks imadrumming and Harri, just one of his many great songs.
My pleasure Clint. 👍👍👍
Bought Tea For the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat back in the 70's, still enjoying both of them as much today. Full of beautiful songs like this one, Where Do the Children Play, Longer Boats, Father and Son, Rubylove, How Can I Tell You, Morning Has Broken. His 'deep cuts' as wirh many artists are better than the better known songs.
"Peace Train" always gives me goosebumps! His music has always ministered to me and not at all surprised he became a Holy man! Thanks to his children, he did return to performing. Harri I would love for you to review "Moon Shadow" if you haven't already. Cat never wrote a bad song IMPO. Thank you Harri, as always, you are on the money. We need a new Peace Train today!
I LOVE Moon 🌙 Shadow, too
It has a gospel feeling to it.
This song brings back great memories of my teen hippie days! I absolutely wore out this album! What a great choice and reaction. Thanks Harri and Imadrummin 🌺✌️
You are welcome Debbie. Long live the "Peace Train".
You can't help but get lost in this beautiful song and Cat Stevens' soothing and hopeful message. Thanks, Harri and Imadrummin!
My pleasure Marcus. 👍
Note: A year or 2 (not sure exactly) before he left his life as a star musician he spent months in a sanatorium ( hospital ). fighting for his life fighting TB . Half the patients didn't survive .... Changed his life goals. But now for quite a few years he is back performing his wonderful music
Let's ride the Peace Train!!!
This is my 86 year-old mom's favorite album from the 70s.
That’s really wonderful! She’s got great taste in music 😉
The guitarist is Alun Davies, a long time friend and lead guitarist for Cat. He still accompanies today.
Saw him with The Walker Brothers and Hendrix in 67 at Bolton Odeon. In 72 I met him backstage theatre Royal London he was a superstar then but still spoke to me brilliant
When he gave up singing I was heartbroken, I still have a few of his albums.
He's been back into doing music again for years now
Have you reacted to his song "Moonshadow?" If not, I highly recommend it. Beautiful, thought provoking lyrics.
Cat has written and sung some mighty fine songs, but this is my favorite.
Love him still! Thank you. 💝💖💚
His catalogue of hits is enormous. And, his live concerts are so many to count. Please check out "Sad Lisa" which he performed live in Chile (VinaDelMar Feestival 2015). So emotional
Tea For The Tillerman is a fantastic album! One of my favs
He did come out of retirement and still performs.
I love Cat Steven's. I saw him in concert twice. In the second concert, he sang Peace Train before it was released. He only retired for a while. He still performs and has a TH-cam channel, too.
One of my most favorite songs of all time ❤ the mood this song puts me in is an incredible feeling
I had all of his albums and played them over and over. Those old songs still make me smile.
What a wonderful, hopeful song...much needed these days. Thanks Harri. ❤😊
Amen.
First time I heard this, I thought how awesome. Never changed my mind. lol Thanks Harri! "Ride on the Peace Train"
My favorite Cat Stevens song
One of everyone’s favorites!
Cat Stevens - never a bad song, never a bad album.
Cat Stevens! What an artist! So much respect for him and his talent!
Great tune, and yes, the more things change the more they stay the same. But he was a treasure.
Have his three big albums from the early 70’s, love the music and his cover art🎶🎶🎶 Where do the Children Play and Sad Lisa are two of my favorites as well as the more popular songs he wrote🎶🎶🎶
First Cat Stevens album l bought was Buddha and the Chocolate Box which l still enjoy today, Oh Very Young is one of my favourite Cat songs. Another track though which never gets a mention is Sun/C79 a slightly more 'edgy' song which l really love. As with many artists his later albums became a little patchy in quality and l think he began to experiment a little with albums such as Numbers and Foreigner which l still enjoy but for me Tea and Teaser were written at the peak of his career.
He does still perform his hits on occasion. Still sounds wonderful. Great reaction to a great song/artist!
Everything by Cat Stevens is perfection! I’ve been listening to him since the early 70’s.
I still have his smash hit album "Tea for the tillerman".
I think in 2011, he was inducted in the rock and roll hall of fame. He performed. His children convinced him to start singing again.
❤
Great choice imadrummin, this was on my future list. You da man. 😮
Thank you Daniel. So glad to know we have some similar taste. 😀
Hearing this once again put a soft smile on my face. It's been so long.
Simply a fantastic soul. From early to mid 70's I don't think a day went by when I wasn't playing some of his music.
I was inspired to eventually hitchhike to Nepal after hearing his rendition of "Kathmandu"
🤩🤩🤩🥰😇🙏
Thank you Agnete!!😀
Beautiful and rare rhythmic song whit the master Cat Stevens, thanks and peace
my friend :)
Hard-headed woman is a fAVOURITE AS WELL!
Brilliant. This song is one of those that seems to make me tear up... thanks for the reaction.
He is s wonderful artist..composer and artist too. Luv him
We had this album, I can remember when purchasing, I was 15 years old and it was a huge hit, t he whole album, not only in the UK, but here in Germany too. When partying, we the guys wanted listen to Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin or Santana, but the girls wanted to hear Leonard Cohen and most of all Cat Stevens !!! long ago, really.
He has actually returned in recent years performing again.
I loved this on as a child and still do today. I only wish that we all could have moved in the Peace Train direction over these last 52 years instead of the false-news internet hatred that we have to deal with. If you haven't checked out Wild World, Moonshadow, or Morning Has Broken, they are all awesome Cat Stevens' hits as well.
What a Great message so many years ago! It's coming
The AWAKENING is coming!!
Great song Thanks Harri.
Have always love Cat Steven's music. He is a great singer songwriter with a very unique sounding voice. One of my first albums I ever bought was his "Tea For The Tillerman". The whole album is great. So is the album "Teaser & The Firecat". He has a lot of great songs such as "Matthew & Son", "The First Cut Is The Deepest", "Oh Very Young", "Where Do The Children Play", "Wild World", "Moonshadow", etc. He is still recording & performing live & his voice still sounds great.
Why can’t we all jump on the Peace Train and live in Bliss? Love you always, Cat.
Thanks for sharing this, Harri. I haven’t heard it in a long time. Made me weep with memories of when I first heard this in the turmoil of the ‘70’s and the song’s passionate optimism.
Backing vocals are special too. All great songsters in their own right. Cat/Yusuf had a talent as singer/songwriter that was not fully explored, but what we we were able to enjoy left a lasting impression growing up. Morning has Broken is another "Boomer" song
IMO, this is one of the greatest songs ever produced, one that is even more relevant now than when it was released; and yet, it seems like we are farther away from Cat's vision of peace than ever before. I hope that we wake up and let love guide the way forward. Our divisions are tearing the human race apart. ❤✌
Like many others here, Teaser and the Firecat, as well as Tea for the Tillerman, are two of my favorite albums. His voice always cut right through me, and the messages were so full of hope and soulfulness. Thanks to Imadrummin, and anything more from either of these two albums would be wonderful. Cat also wrote "The First Cut is the Deepest." There were several covers done, including Rod Stewart 10 years later in 1977. I think some 1967 Cat would be spectacular.
Those two albums you mentioned are indeed wonderful and are two of my favourite albums in my collection of vinyl largely from the wonderful 70's. He also Wrote Here Comes My Baby which was a big hit for The Tremeloes which l believe reached number 4 in UK charts.
This is a beautiful song♥️♥️♥️♥️☮️✌️
Growing up in some turbulent times in the 60's and 70's, I found this man's music to be very profound for the times. His lyrics and just the sound of his voice had a soothing effect. He always seemed to be a man of high moral character. I found it surprising and a little hard to understand some of his choices in life. I try to keep an open mind and consider all points of view. Though he changed his name, I still think he's one Cool Cat!
He has many great songs, but I would like to suggest the song "Home" off his Numbers album. It is a beautiful song and the background singers sound like angels singing. I haven't seen any reactions to it and would love to hear your take on it Harri.
I’m still wanting at the train station for this one train. When I was young, I thought we be smarter by now. Still I wait….
Back when this came out in the very early 70’s things were no where near as awful as they are now. I just hope our country survives. I remember when this came out. I was 11.
Thank you Cat and thank you Harri!
Don't forget Imadrummin who requested it. ✌
@@Cynthia... Absolutely, my bad... and thank you Imadrummin!!!
@@brianhildreth9099 No problem. ✌
@@brianhildreth9099 My pleasure Brian. 👍👍👍
@@Cynthia... 😀 Thank you Cynthia.
I love the way his songs build up and seem to roll. He’s awesome! He’s still singing and writing new songs!
Cat Stevens is still out there performing. Back in the late '60s my band recorded in Criteria Studios in North Miami and he was recording in the studio next to us.
Great reaction. One of the great song writers...
Would love to hear you react to Humble Pie, "You are so good for me" off the Smokin album....
When Cat left the secular music scene in the '70s. I went into depression, and have never recovered!
He has released some material and has done some performances under his now name of Yusuf Islam
He didn't retire, still very active and uses his musical guniess on the political stage
im 68yo this is my favorite cat stevens song
One of my junior high school favorites.
You could “ get nine records for 5 cents ? back in the day and this was one of them.
Thanks for getting to this favorite of mine. Great song. Great reaction.
I loved Cat Stevens and was sick when he changed his name and gave up music, it was a sad day in music history...
He's been back into music for years now
@mandarinlearner Yeah but we lost close to 30yrs of his prime.
Fave Cat song. Fantastic.
I saw him in Mpls. when I was working there in the mid 70’s.
Great show!
Love the Cat! ! Loved your reaction, Harri. Cheers from Boston, USA.
Teaser and the Firecat was the very first album I bought with my own money (before that my dad bought me a few records). I was so proud when my father listened with me and told me that he liked it! That was 1972 when I was 16, my first part-time job, first pay cheque. I still love the album, and this is my favourite song. Great reaction, Harri! Thank you!
Great Song! Peace Train was on Tea for the Tillerman album. He is showing Teaser and the Firecat in the background.
Think You're wrong there, well Peace Train is on my copy of Teaser 😅
@@keithjones7390 Depends on where the album was released. I stand corrected. I have a boot leg version of Tea for the Tillerman.
I believe he is back ❤
Chance Stephens did write music again. He wrote a song about his son called father and son.And it's a really good song. You might want to check it out.
Fantastic ❤❤❤
My Favorite 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Love Cat Stevens, and this is such an iconic tune, the whole album is great Harri, you should take a listen sometime.
Thanks for the memories Harri.👍❤️📀
I don't get why no one makes music like this anymore. We never hear anything about brotherhood, peace, love, anti-war, etc. etc. etc. . . .
It’s really sad that we don’t. That’s the message I grew up with, too. Now it’s so much “I, Me, Mine”, to borrow from George Harrison.
A good from the 80's is The Indigo Girls "Let It Be Me " ❤😊
The Wind is my favorite song. Just over a min long but “ I let my music take me where my heart wants to go” I love it so much and it just hits me in the most beautiful way.
Great song!
Please react to Cat Stevens' "Moon Shadow"
And 10,000 Maniacs cover of "Peace Train" ❤😊
Cool reaction, as always, to such a LOVELY song.
Cat Stevens returned to performing part time a few years ago although he has no future concerts scheduled. He also has a son who went into music.
Peace Train is arguably one of the best things to come out of Islam in our generation.
Great reaction Harri! The peace train was a really an actual thing. I was stationed in San Antonio in 1974 when it came through.
peace is the answer.
