Okmalumkoolkat was the first person to introduce us to ShoMajozi, we wouldnt know her today
Do you know the story?
She was calling herself Majozi at the time. After a character from was it Muvhango or Generations. Her friends gave her that nickname because of her dress code aliking to Majozi who used to wear traditional Venda attire 💯
And when she met Malume it was at a studio just before launching her career.
She bumped into Malume and introduced herself and told him that she's a songwriter and would love to ghost write for him too. (She was already writing for various artists at the time)
The Malume said No and asked her if she does vocals and thelat she's beatiful.
After a bit of a chat he told her that he has a song he's about to drop and asked her if she would be able to ad lib for him and appear on the video.
The 'Sho' part was Mulume's influence because he told her that there was already an artist who goes by that name (White Male South African) who does folk music.
So just like Malume has the prefix OK, Madjozi wanted the same effect and they put the '.' Sho'
And that's how ShoMadjozi was born.
