The stage hands are just being professional and yes she doesn’t need it :-) As soon she starts singing the whole crowd goes silent. With her soft delicate tone she just sucks everybody in not letting room for anything else but 100% attention. The jury is too close for comfort and is left staring in awe and slack jawed by the gentle tsunami of emotion poured over them. A few peeps come out the jury and audience during the performance as a much needed relief of pressure but nothing compared to the explosion and uproar at the end when she finally releases her hold on their attention.

Sometimes we hear Angelina and we are just staggered. She steps up to the microphone and almost before she starts (or certainly right after) her command of the situation is obvious. Angelina has this unique way of singing both to the audience while at the same time seemingly ignoring all that is going on around her. Her confidence and fearlessness (who does this to Bohemian Rhapsody!) makes us know that we can trust her. Extraordinary in every way! She rerecorded this right after AGT and it is is available for purchase at the usual places.

T, Angelina not only impressed the audience and the judges, but they were so completely mesmerized by her rendition that you could hear a pin drop during the performance.
You had me laughing out loud at the 9:12 mark after that belting high note with her arms outstretched and you just said "ooh" because I had the same reaction the first time. I still get chills every time. I've had this song as my favorite song for years and Angelina just made this song relevant again with her arrangement and that soulful delivery at 13, barefoot, on the worlds biggest stage, opening a cappella in a whisper to a dead silent audience singing in front of her idol, Simon, her arrangement of one of the greatest songs of all time by maybe the greatest rock singer of all time and then absolutely slays it. Of course, Angelina is the G.O.A.T.

So many people like myself were shocked, surprised, got goose bumps and chills, and had tears in our eyes when this performance was first seen on TV and then blew up on TH-cam in 2020. Ever since this performance, I have been listening to her music since. I can't get enough of this young prodigy. In my 52 years of life, she is the most incredible artist I have ever experienced. She said during her online Christmas Concert that she is working on new music for the album she is planning to put out this year. We Angels are waiting very patiently and eagerly for this to happen! This was my first exposure to Angelina. During Covid Lockdown I had way too much free time so I was browsing TH-cam and stumbled across this video...and "that was all she wrote!" BTW, while YOU may not have known it at the Time, WE knew you were an "Angel" from the moment you did the I'd Rather Be Blind" reaction! Yes! I’ve watched a lot - I mean a LOT - of reactions to this and other AJ performances, and this is the one i’d recommend to anyone new to AJ’s BR at AGT. Most others try to explain the inexplicable Angelina Jordan. Almost all don’t go back to listen to a segment where everyone is thinking “What the heck did I just hear? That couldn’t possibly have just happened! I want to hear that again!” and you oblige. Great job!

I knew this was going to be fun and you didn't disappoint. True, so many of us have seen this over 1,000 times and we still get emotional every time. When your hormones started jumping all over the place we were just as excited as you as if we were watching this for the first time. That's what she does.
True, on a technical side of things, understand Angelina had to "fit" everything into approximately two minutes because that was the time limit given to her to sing the song. She did it masterfully and to say she stunned everyone is an understatement.

The combination of chills arising from Angelina's tone, honesty and control in this performance (even though I've seen it many times) and the enjoyment I get from watching you trying to cope with it is just the best. Great reaction as always TDS. Hearing you say "I'm ready, or at least I think I am" made me wonder. If it was me I'd have to say "Ya'll ready, I KNOW I'm not ready"! :)

At least I'm not out on the street listening where I could fall back into traffic or off a tight-rope... I never will listen to an AJ performance while tarring a roof or checking barn-top weather vanes. ha ha

T, Angelina not only impressed the audience and the judges, but they were so completely mesmerized by her rendition that you could hear a pin drop during the performance.
You had me laughing out loud at the 9:12 mark after that belting high note with her arms outstretched and you just said "ooh" because I had the same reaction the first time. I still get chills every time. I've had this song as my favorite song for years and Angelina just made this song relevant again with her arrangement and that soulful delivery at 13, barefoot, on the worlds biggest stage, opening a cappella in a whisper to a dead silent audience singing in front of her idol, Simon, her arrangement of one of the greatest songs of all time by maybe the greatest rock singer of all time and then absolutely slays it. Of course, Angelina is the G.O.A.T.
FACTS!!!!!! Frank, I was saying the same thing!!!!!! that was the most brilliant thing starting the song like that and just her and a guitar, Outstanding!!!
Great and yet not so surprising reaction! So many people like myself were shocked, surprised, got goose bumps and chills, and had tears in our eyes when this performance was first seen on TV and then blew up on TH-cam in 2020. Ever since this performance, I have been listening to her music since. I can't get enough of this young prodigy. In my 52 years of life, she is the most incredible artist I have ever experienced. She said during her online Christmas Concert that she is working on new music for the album she is planning to put out this year. We Angels are waiting very patiently and eagerly for this to happen! The remaining members of Queen saw this performance and were so impressed with Angelina’s arrangement and performance that they gave her permission to market her version of Freddy’s song.
This was my first exposure to Angelina. During Covid Lockdown I had way too much free time so I was browsing TH-cam and stumbled across this video...and "that was all she wrote!" BTW, while YOU may not have known it at the Time, WE knew you were an "Angel" from the moment you did the I'd Rather Be Blind" reaction! As for Being "Ready"...it's kind like the Monty Python bit: "Nobody Expects the Spanish Inquisition!" because even when you DO expect greatness, the Reality is so, so much more than you expect!

Yes! I’ve watched a lot - I mean a LOT - of reactions to this and other AJ performances, and this is the one i’d recommend to anyone new to AJ’s BR at AGT. Most others try to explain the inexplicable Angelina Jordan. Almost all don’t go back to listen to a segment where everyone is thinking “What the heck did I just hear? That couldn’t possibly have just happened! I want to hear that again!” and you oblige. Great job!
