Mini worm composting/vermicomposting bin

  • The idea behind this mini worm bin is to show that you don’t need a large tote, or manufactured worm bin in order to have a worm composting bin. If you have a small balcony garden or something similar in size, you don’t need many worm castings. A mini bin could be just the solution.
    Red wiggler worms are “self regulating”. In other words: they will grow and multiply until they’ve reached a certain point. A point 'that is affected by several factors including physical space, and available food. They will slow or stop breeding at that point. I do not know how many worms will ultimately be able to live in this mini bin, but we’re going find out!
    The bin is 16”L x 12”W x 7”H
    Stay tuned for some long term updates since this will take some time.

      @1curiousgardener I got a Geobin mini for Christmas and made a video putting it into the Garden. If you're interested you can see the Composter and what a sunny 🌞 70° F day looks like on January 1st 👍
