    Your explanation is spot on. I was on that shoes at one time. There were times in the past when I felt like I made a wrong choice coming to America but I persevered. I convinced myself that things might get better in the years to come and it's just a matter of time. I live in San Francisco area and the cost of living here is very high compared to where you live. You might be surprised how I came across your channel - every now and then, I surf youtube channels looking for new vloggers that provides interesting concepts and insights. Watching your video and listening to your "story", I said to myself - this person makes sense. I hope you will continue vlogging as a head start to new comers "Filipino people" cope and adapt the challenges of life in America.

      Living in San Francisco must be tough with the high cost of living, but it’s amazing that you’ve pushed through. And I’m so glad you found my channel! It means a lot that my video resonates with you. I’ll definitely keep sharing my experiences, hoping they can help fellow Filipinos navigate life here. Thanks for watching! 😊

    You are still lucky to be in North Carolina during winter, it’s a little bit harsh here in Midwest. 😊

      Yeah, I can imagine! The Midwest winters are no joke-freezing temperatures, heavy snow, and those crazy wind chills. 😅 North Carolina gets cold, but at least it’s not as extreme. Stay warm over there! ❄️😊

    Oh my God, I suddenly become scared with healthcare cost. Expats in the Philippines usually tackle this issue. Health insurance is very helpful, but still a bit scary lolz 😂 Winter will give you a headache. I too never liked winter cold, even in Baguio City just a feeling of super cold weather just let me go to a warmer temp rural barangays, but what can we do, no choice work brought us here. America is very good in promoting Anerica to the world, but when you are in the US, the American people alone when they look at you, they will make you feel like my God, am I an ex-convict? They look like they wanna strangle you and sometimes when you go outside you will only see cars, no people like a ghost town and to buy goods you have to ride a car. When I compare Anericans to Russians, my God totally different. Russians are the best "white" people on earth. Just like Filipinos their human values are so high up in the sky. Americans leave their parents when they reach the age of 18, while Russians bring their parents and family wherever they go, to places that they considered home like in Sanal island. And they are willing to sacrifice their lives to save the world, like during World War 2 when Russians beat the Nazis and Japanese and liberated the Jewish people and world. Best Russians ever, family oriented and full of humanity.
    My gosh the Philippines is still the best, the people, the nature, the malls, the walkable conveniences, unparalelled. Of course, the American salary to Filipinos are very high and that's a huge plus, you will be a millionnaire immediately when you go to the Philippines. The best thing in the US is, get your pension, go back to the Philippines and live like a royal king and queen. I saw lots of Filipino pensioner expats do this already and never went back. What's your take?

    • @PinayGraceAdventures
      @PinayGraceAdventures  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      You made some really interesting points! The healthcare costs in the U.S. are definitely a big concern, especially for expats who aren't used to how expensive it can be. Health insurance helps, but the fear of unexpected bills is real!
      As for winter-yes! It’s brutal, especially if you’re used to warm tropical weather. I totally get why you'd rather be in the Philippines' rural barangays than deal with the freezing cold. And you’re right, America does a great job of marketing itself, but living here is a whole different experience. The car dependency and sometimes the social atmosphere can feel isolating.
      I can see where you’re coming from with cultural comparisons, too. Different societies have their own values, and family culture plays a big role in how people interact. Filipinos and Russians do have that strong sense of family and community, which is something I really admire too.
      And yes-the Philippines has a charm that’s hard to beat! The convenience, the people, the nature, and of course, the malls! 😂 A lot of Filipinos here in the U.S. work hard just so they can retire back home and enjoy that comfortable life with their pension. It’s definitely a smart move if you want the best of both worlds!
      For now, I’m just making the most out of where I am-working, traveling, and seeing what life has to offer. But who knows? Maybe one day, I’ll also retire in the Philippines and enjoy the good life! 😊
