Honestly Mileena is my favourite female MK character too and I have grown quite fond of her. Whenever I play as her on klassic mode in MK11 I will always choose D’vorah for her to fight because we all hate D’vorah for what she did to her in MKX.
The MKX comics really made Mileena look pretty savage and a badass leader in it. Her wielding Shao Khan's hammer like Mjollnir and her sitting at Rain's bedside like that too. Definitely the best of her since Deception.

This is why I miss Midway’s continuity. They actually kept up with the stories. Netherrealm studios doesn’t know what direction to go in. Every new installment is another way to recon details that should’ve never changed in the first place. I just feel like using the multiverse trope is an excuse at this point.
I think Deception definitely made her sound like a badass according to this video, but since then I thought MKX's comic was the best thing out of the current continuity simply because its still darker, shows the characters as competent leaders, and it felt closer to the tone of the original continuity as it acknowledged Mileena's rulership being even more dictatorial than Shao Khan's if she was actually Khan.So I was disappointed that it though a prequel to MKX was not all canon anymore despite it imo showing Mileena, Reiko, Skarlet and Scorpion at their best. While I was not a fan of MK11's Kronika plot, MK11 is probably the first game that gave Kitana actual relevance and a real personality but, I do think they should have kept the plotline of Rain and Kitana getting an arranged marriage or something I remember in the old timeline. That would have been interesting. Not as a couple but to further his plot toward trying to get a royal title recognized. It would give some issues for Liu Kang to deal with.

It would’ve served them best to mesh the continuities by taking the stories that best progressed respective characters like Mileena’s disdain for the truth behind her creation, her overlying competence as a leader, constantly spying on and being made to emulate Kitana since her conception, using deceit as her tool to corrupt Outworld, and her own self hatred driving her to madness and obsession with replacing Kitana and overthrowing Shao Kahn eventually. I do admit I love Kitana’s coming into her own in MK11. I would’ve loved Liu Kang’s continuity to have been kept up in the new timeline. Jade seems to be getting a little bit more attention since the new timeline, but we need more background and fleshing out on her. Rain’s original continuity was more my personal taste, as it really drove attention to his bastardized status In Edenia, and him doing whatever it takes to reach a status to where he’s able to turn his nose up at the same ones who threw him away and expended his mother. But bigger parts of the continuity are needed back in the timeline. Onaga, the Deadly Alliance, Sindel being corrupted instead of turning in Jerrod during Shao Kahn’s invasion of Edenia, Shujinko damning the realms by being so easily manipulated by Onaga, Liu Kang rising from the grave to gain vengeance on Shang Tsung… these were so critical to what made MK so good.

What really hammers the nail in the coffin is that Jetstream Sam fights Senator Armstrong in the Jetstream DLC, so there's that Man VS Nature theming again.

Very good video!! just a couple of nitpicks In mk 2 it was never said or mention what happened in kitana and mileena’s situation until mk 3 There is a misconception that mileena attacked first and kitana used self defense.( wiki ) This is not true because in mileena’s bio it says that she was murdered. ( in kitana’s bio all it said was that she killed her.) There is a huge difference between murder and self defense. Murder is the unjustified, unmoral and predetermined taking of a persons life. Even though kitana had a reason to do it. she needed to plan and attack first in order for it to be murder. Also fun fact : did you know mileena was the first character to be shown crying.
