His entire career from college until the day he retired not only was he the best shooter in the world, but he was the best there had ever been. Hands down. And everyone knew it. You guys have done too much talking, too much reading and writing and not enough playing and paying attention

Danny Ainge supposedly tried to convince KC Jones to incorporate more three pointers into their game plan. He correctly argued that between Larry, Scott Wedman and himself shooting above 35% for three’s would be more efficient than shooting at 50% for two pointers. Both KC & Larry were concerned that it would detract from their overall teamwork concept, and not be as successful.
How cool would it be to have been standing on the sidelines witnessing Larry play from college all the way through his nba career. Bob had the best job of all time 🍀

No three-point shot... period. Yes, it's extreme, but the state of the game calls for it. Turn on any regular season game and see for yourself. It's like watching two virgins drinking bottled water inside a padded room, while discussing which type of drape is best for windows.
Bob Ryan describes Bird's three point shooting perfectly when he says he used it strategically, I've seen Bird on many occasions do it this way in regular season games, playoff games, championship game's and the all-star game's, wish there was a stat back then that broke down game winning three point shot's, Bird would have led the league for year's in that category
I agree with him about the AS game. I don't see why they can't agree as players to actually try to compete. The current AS games are so bad! As for the nba game in general I'm hoping the post game makes more of a comeback. Just way too many guys that aren't natural shooters shooting 3s at a high volume. It's not entertaining basketball. People who actually appreciate basketball want to see different facets and more strategy. Of course if pros are shooting 3s at such a high volume a decent amount will go in, but is that good basketball to watch? No! It's not rare in today's game to see a team take a 3 get an offensive rebound swing the ball around and take another 3!
They should turn the ASG into a Division vs Division format. The division who wins the ASG will give that team who finishes as Champion of said division, home court advantage in the Playoffs. That is if they're the 1, 2, or 3 seed in each conference.
Tanguay stopped watching basketball in 1998... lol, last 4 NBA greats... He named 3 players from the 80s/90s. I can think of one recent... Steph Curry.
MJ and Bird would have been incredible 3 point shooters if the emphasis was in that direction but it was a different game. They also played hard defense for 4 quarters. The rules changes tailored to pad stat LeBron's career numbers, should be denoted on his Hall Of Fame plaque with an asterisk. Bird and MJ didn't have that either.
The very first Celtics game when the 3-point line was first instituted....the Celtics were 1-for-3. Teams are now 1-for-3 in the first 30 seconds of a game. The NBA is so much less-watchable than it was in the 80s.

And instead of in season playoffs try moving some games outside to some of the urban playgrounds. And more shimmying and showing out for every shot, pass and rebound would be great!
It is a joke, mediocre defense, the flopping bullshit, they're allowed to travel on a lot of plays and that three point shot with how many attempts are taking during a game is ridiculous and what really ticks me off is when you see a player hit a three pointer and he starts pounding his chest or raises his arms like they're so badass and the game is out of reach by then, talk about being a ME player, 🤦
Only a former NBA player could possibly care enough about something as frivolous and irrelevant as the all-star game to be "disgusted" by it, lol! Nobody cares. This popped up on my feed and I couldn't resist. The honor is being selected, the game is totally meaningless now and always has been.
One of the reasons why the three-point shot was a bad shot back in the day was because if you get fouled on a missed 3-pointer you only get two free throws unlike today. If you're going to keep the 3-point shot in the game either take it away for two quarters. Say the first and the third quarter a shot from 23-9 is only worth two. Bring it back for the end of the half and the end of the game. Another thing you could do is an NBA JAM type rule where if you hit three shots or get three defensive stops consecutively the three pointer is now activated you can take advantage of it. If you missed three in a row it gets deactivated. I have other ideas as well.
