@@DancerC2low waacking is a more stylistic/communicative dance style. Styles like popping, Krumping are the more technique oriented ones

Waackxxxy is skillful but she needs to slow down and listen to the music, this round Lip J is more steady and catches the feeling. I guess
I think so too, she is too skill oriented she needs to separate her focus to other parts of her goodness
Can you elaborate a little bit more by where you think Waackxxy lacked musicality (maybe from a waacking perspective if you're a waacker)? I thought the musicality from both dancers was extremely on point both rounds. I thought Lip J played off lyrics more effectively, performed her character more confidently, and having cleaner poses, which I feel gave her a stronger presence in controlling the stage and ultimately the edge in the battle.
Waackxxxy killed a lot of specific song parts in really creative ways going outside waacking technique. In the first round (starting at 1:42) she rides the guitar solo with waves, finishing it off with a fast waacking combo, and coming out of it with a dancehall(?) into house groove as the drum solo came in. In the second round where they both knew the song well, she mixes her wacks to the beat with waving motions to the lyrics effectively for the first part, hits all the different horns and percussion as they come in, grooves coming out of the breakdown, and hits the final breakdown going on to her elbow (again a really original move). Musicality-wise, I think Lip-J was a just a bit more articulate in hitting the vocals (also adding more facial expressions), but both were dancing equally well to the layers of the music and capturing the songs a whole.
Peter Hsieh Peter Hsieh maybe it's just me but I think lip j has better variation of moves in terms of speed and therefore manipulates music better to express herself. Waacking is a dance style that originates from the disco scene where people communicate by the very means of dance. I do appreciate waackxxyy's originality and technique, but somehow when it comes to interpreting the song her fast moves -hitting on every beat - may raise our eyebrows but don't quite express something, especially in the second round. Lip J, on the other hand, does fast and slow moves and more importantly her face to express what is in the song. Musicality isn't just about hitting beats, but how to fit your moves in the music to express what is on your mind.
Hmm that makes a lot of sense, and I agree. In my mind I was grouping those attributes under "performance" and "control/technique", but since those things relate to connecting to the music maybe they should be included in "musicality", especially considering what is important in waacking as a style.

2022 These two are my favorites,, I have watched almost every video, they both have improved so much . I love Lip J for she always makes pretty pictures, beautiful lines . I love Waackxxxy for her creativity , she will always show me something new and take the music somewhere unexpected, sometimes she is serious & other times she is being silly.
