Such a pity Thunder Tiger stopped. I learnt to fly helicopters on a Thunder Tiger raptor 50. Beautiful solid machine.

Very nice find. Years ago I had the Airplane version of this engine. Tons of power, turned a Master Airscrew 11x7 wood prop at 11,700 RPM. Flew the Tower Kaos 60 it was mounted on with real authority.

Beautiful engine. TT was always underestimated especially in europe the Pro series are very rare. The blue head will turn heads ;)

I might actually run this engine this weekend. I found a beautiful muffler in my engine container. The casting quality of the muffler is an exact match for the engine. You would never even know it was not original to the engine.

Greetings Joachim. I just fitted an exhaust on the engine. I will be making a video when I get around to running it. It is so pretty I sort of don't want to mess with it!

Wonder why TT went the way of the Dodo? They were such nice engines.
Off topic, but what camera are you using over your bench when you record these videos?

This particular camera in my Sony CX405.

Very simple, declining demand for glow and other I.C. model engines. I tried to tell people near 20 years gone that the future would belong to electrics and such was booed and laughed at for it. Today it is near completely so and what we have left is rapidly (and sadly) becoming a fringe market.

I wonder if they're made for higher RPMs

A TT pro .40 will turn over 17,000 rpm with a tuned pipe. I'm sure the pro .60 will have a significant increase in rpm with a good pipe.

No idle stop screw..Grrr. I wish they would still install these.

8ackbar Yes, it would be nice. Perhaps they figured with the digital radios the servo travel could be set electronically and this justify the cost savings of fewer parts and less machining steps.
