Thank you so very much for your informative review of this product. I wish I would’ve seen this prior to me purchasing it, so I could’ve made a truly informed decision rather than jumping in blindly. Again, thank you so very much.
I've had it for merely 2 weeks, haven't tested it fully either, but i had the same thought about the "deep color" thing, thought maybe I'm not using it correctly. Handheld mode, mostly worse than auto from what I've tested it on. Hopefully some updates can make some difference. Would love to see your full review of it though. Nice job , cheers.
purchased arsenal 2 because the promo vids were so convincing…came and watched and read the reviews and was shocked. asked for refund immediately after receiving arsenal 2. glad i missed a bullet there 😅
So planning a trip to Switzerland. First real trip there. The photographer in me has so many plans, but in husband mode, I have reduced expectations. This seems like it will just get in the way. I shoot with a pair of 5DM3s, using both card slots. RAW on one and jpg on the other. One of the joys of travel is returning home with a stack of RAW images and post processing. I think frigging around with this will take the joy out of travel photography. I’m now even thinking again about leaving the tripod at home. Thanks for the honest review.
That was great, I have about the same impressions, but I don't have such a beautiful beach around here. The exposure stacking is what helps me for real estate photography and the great thing is I have the different exposures on the camera SD so if it doesn't work I can do manual at post. Cheers matte.
Hi! I'm a real estate photographer as well and this piqued my interest. Is the resulting HDR picture a raw, as when you do it with Lightroom, or is it a jpeg?
I've had it for about a month now and generally it is OK. I agree with many of your comments and kind of disappointed that the results are not better. I tried the night assist setting and it took quite awhile to establish an exposure. I also tried the star focus assist many times and could not get it to finish the focus - even after it ran for over 5 minutes. Long exposure was OK, nothing spectacular, but the Deep Color is not an improvement over just normal settings for my Nikon d5600 IMO. The handheld mode is useless in my opinion and I doubt if I will take the time to use it in the future. I do like how the timelapse portion is set up and it seems to work fairly well. Tried some holy grail timelapse's and exposure was good, but end result show quite bad flicker at times. Hopefully, future firmware can improve the Arsenal 2. BTW, do you have a panorama mode in your app? I could not find it on mine.
Curious for the day to night TL results. Ordered one as well. Have already the series 1 but never tested it deeply regarding day to night TL. Can you tell the difference with series 2 regarding TL. Thank you.
Andy, you look very smart & definitely a prof. You don't have to use something ... "intelligent" to assist. I watched many clips on Arsenal, most are professional and experienced. So I might have posted mine to ensure. The idea is that if Arsenal is claimed 2b intelligent device, then the users should be very newbie, even looking like a silly guy, like me :-) for sure. In case of myselt, if I can take perfect pictures like prof, ie. taking real-estate pictures to resolve width, lights in the houses, wedding pictures to show happy moments from everyone,... then Arsenal is worth the $. @ this time being, the device is so... "intelligent" but I'm... not so smart. Absolutely, it is not for me.

Waste of money. The Arsenal 2 app recognizes both the Arsenal 2 and my camera but refuses to connect via wifi or Bluetooth. This is on both Android and iPhone. Arsenal Support Team has been working for the past three weeks to resolve the connectivity issue without success. I have therefore requested a refund.
2mins into the video and reading the comments... I think you saved me a couple of 100 bucks!
lol - no worries - wise decision
@@Andyhutchinson thanks!
Thank you, this is the first honest review of a Arsenal I've watched now.
Thanks Keagyn - appreciate it :)

No worries - you could always return it :)
I really appreciate the honesty
No worries - glad it helped :)
Love your reviews.
Thank-you :)

You definitely dodged a bullet!
And then you find out that it's actually amazing if you actually use it correctly. Especially now that they've had... 46? updates.
Does it work when doing video?
Nope.
I saw an ad for this on IG and had to look up reviews lmao. My first thought was "you're paying $300 for auto mode" and turns out I wasn't wrong.
Yep. Spend your money on somethat that works! :)
Lol I got here the same way

It will totally get in the way - best of luck with the trip! :)

Yea it has a sort of auto mode - but it's useless and you're betting off using the one on your camera.

I couldn't locate pano either. Their website is substandard for how to vids
Pano's not in in the current firmware. Apparently in beta testing at the moment.
@@Andyhutchinson hmm. I like how they advertise something that doesn't exist yet in the product
@@CB-nd9ki totally agree - it was one of the main reasons I bought it.

Haven't had a chance to test the day to night yet. Was going to give it a go tonight but didn't get a chance.
Agreed with what you said about the device. I think they hurriedly shipped the devices knowing the software is not even around 50% complete.
Yep - unfortunately I think that's the case.
Same was with Arsenal 1 which never fully worked as advertised
Love the CSI parody 😃 well done 👍

Cheers Scott. Believe me when I tell you that my bluntness has got me into trouble on more than one occasion!
wish I watched this before buying it. for the price you would expect it to be as good as there advertising
Agreed.
Nice pano of Hanauma Bay and KoKo Head

haha your intro song was made from garage band. I can remember that from about 12 years ago
Thanks Lewis - I spent so long looking for a clip I liked for the intro and found that one in the Final Cut Pro X royalty-free library :)
Thank you for a no bullshit review. This was refreshing and informative
Appreciate it :)
hey definitely stole Peter McKinnons bucket shot for their deep color promo too hahahaha
lol - figures!
Does it support raw?
Yes and no. The photos taken with Arsenal get stored on your camera's SD card as usual.
its called ARSE for a reason…
THe reduction of noise you are using is terrible
Yea I'll take that one on the chin. My audio generally varies between awful and sub-standard.
@@Andyhutchinson THe most dusturbing is not the noise himself, but the noise gate that cut the sound when you stop talking
