Great playing and excellent tone proves so much is in the playing not just the gear. Thinking of taking a chance on one of these myself. This video helped convince me.
Hey dude thank you for doing a review on this guitar, I have been contemplating buying one for about a year from them now I just never had the balls to just do it
Thank you for the awesome review. I actually ordered one the end of last Friday and I cannot wait for it to get here. I was also planning on stripping everything, expecting the quality of the electronics and hardware to be.... Well... Chinese haha. Good luck with everything, can't wait to see your other videos! Cheers from NY
I've never ordered a guitar from China, but I have ordered a sword from there. You gotta love Chinese packaging. Foam, bubble wrap, and about 2 miles of yellow tape wrapping it up like a mummy from hell!
Finally got mine 3 months later. Mines polka dotted. All the hardware is coming off as well at the all the electronics as I expected. Will be getting a bone nut as well. Finish is ok. I’m sure it will be a lot better when I get it back from getting set up.
im going to change the hardware, im going to change the pickups, im going to change the tuners, nut fretboard, paint it cut it up sand it down and make it into a completely different guitar.
I've had my eyes on the KV1 on that site. I've been scared to death to order it, but it seems like every guitar review I've seen from that website shows that they're actually pretty good.
Jay Dallas Not yet. I'm currently too poor. lol I plan on it though. Even if it just turns out to be a wall ornament... it'll be a pretty wall ornament. :) lmao
It's not a replica, it's a fake.. But that's ok. I've got four of them! I got mine for the same reason you got yours; I couldn't afford the real deal for the models I wanted. I have a Slash Appetite, Jimmy Page #2, an Iced Tea Standard, & an Alpine White LP Custom. I too changed out just about all of the hardware & electronics. Still, MUCH cheaper than the real ones, & now they are awesome guitars. Your playing is fantastic by the way. Can't wait to see the upgrade vid
Spaulding still lives in his van I would say AFTER the mod & setup compared to a Gibson it's a 7-8 out of 10. It's better than a mid level Epiphone & almost as good as a Custom shop signature Epi
Usually the pickups suck. Usually replace the nut, the bridge, sometimes the tuners. I'm a nut so I replace everything including the wiring, switch, pots, caps & jack, but usually just replacing the pups & nut & a good setup is all they need
TaylorBellemare I have the same question. rareelectricguitar.com offers much more info about the guitar i´m interested in than rareelectricguitarS.com I was wondering if they are really the same company. Are you sure about this? Thank you!
I was wondering exactly same. Both sites looks similiar and they even seem to have same luthiers, even the products are same. My guess is that there's two sites incase if the other side will get down. Another guess is that the other one was to operate at America and the other one on Europe/Asia. But in the end I'm not even sure if these sites are related to each other.
Nice replica, you know what I never understood is the Jackson RR body shape Randy never played the RR (Randy Rhoads) in my opinion they should have modeled the Concorde shape and call it Jackson RR. I like the RR shape also but Jackson should have named it something different. I guess it's all about marketing.
The Concorde was actually just a prototype which he spoke with Jackson Guitars on changing. He wanted something sleeker and more distinctive. So Jackson made the RR. Here is a pic of him playing it with his Concorde in the background. i1153.photobucket.com/albums/p506/blackcat9996/cus/RandyRhoadsClub4.jpg
I have actually mine took 6 months, the neck pickup cavity is up to far and I have to route a bigger tremendous cavity to fit my charvel Nos brass bridge
good thing i work at a Tom Lee Music when this puppy arrives in the mail I can just take it o my repair guy and get him to do everything from a new set up to changing all the electronics
I'm thinking about saving up $400 or so and getting a Tom Delonge Strat from them. Ideally I'd eventually change out the pickup to a legit SD Invader anyway so all I'm really concerned about is the build quality. Thanks for doing this video.
I bought one. not a Delonge, bit a similar. I got some custom changes made. Inlays, 60's headstock and different color. Went quite well and the guitar is okay for the price. Changed the pickup and all the electronic... A good player. Miss a little Bass in the Sound.. But thats okay for the price. I am very happy with it!!
I want to get one of the MX-250 explorers but I'm soooooo scared about it. I'm not picky about tone. U can make a shit guitar sound great with a good pedal or amp. I used a epiphone les Paul special 2 with the crap stock pickups thru an MXR M78 badass distortion into a small fender frontman 15 and it sounded like a marshal JCM. I kno the hardware will be crap. I'm planning on doing a hardware upgrade on all of my guitars anyway. I don't even care if its just a wall hanger. It will be pretty badass still. All I'm worried about is if I will even get it! I looked up reviews online and from what I saw, the people who ordered one got it. And a lot of em said they were decent copies. Ill probably get one. YOLO right? Lol
I would keep it like it is. I wouldnt dump all that money into a chinese copy. Would be a waste of money. It's playable. That's all I would expect out of a $300 guitar.
I've been searching for an Ibanez Jem777 and can't find an affordable one, they are all too expensive and not in good conditions. This site has a really nice looking replica and can't find any other replica sites either. Can someone tell me if this is actually worth it? I'm not into chinese guitars, but this specific Jem is very hard to find and c'mon, who would spend $3,500 dls in a beat up japanese guitar. You can buy a much better one for that same price, like a Gibson LP Custom. So, that been said, should I go for it and get the DiMarzio pickups to make the replica sound good, or should I keep looking?
Ted Camire I would keep looking, the quality is really low on the guitars & would require a ton of work to make them decent. I did this as a project & most likely will not do another. Buy from a reputable manufacturer.
rclegg Thanks! I guess I will follow your advise. I saw some pictures that they sended to my gmail and I don't like how the guitar looks, so I will just keep looking. I was thinking on getting an Ibanez RG550 and customized it to make it look like the Jem 777, that sounds like a better idea to me. Any ways, thanks for the help!
So basically he should have just ordered the neck un-fretted and the body so he could have saved a lot of messing about, saved a lot on the price and got exactly what he wanted. What all the Squawkers are posting about fakesand criminals buying them is BS, we have free will and can buy what we like with our own money, The guys selling $120, 50's fenders for $250,000 at auctions are bigger crooks as these were cheap disposable guitars according to Leo'
Don't give these online Chinese guitar wholesalers another dime, because you're only getting ripped off and flushing your money down the toilet. They stole Jackson's intellectual property, Jackson doesn't see a dime from you buying this guitar, and what you got is a cheap piece of garbage that's only good for firewood.
6672rock 1)fender owns Jackson ,you fucking pinhead. 2)most of the the Jackson's were made in china to begin with. are you somehow concerned they lost a sale?
6672rock your typing on a keyboard made in china, looking at a Chinese monitor and eating your heated up food from your Chinese microwave ,checking messages on your Chinese cell phone and bitching about this. are you just a wee bit naive,if you are grow the fuck up.
+trillriff-axegrinder Ummm...yeah...but no. Jackson is owned by Fender now, true enough...but the vast majority of Charvel / Jackson production took place first in the US, then in Japan.....which is a completely different story. The Japanese staff most of their guitar factories with trained luthiers and the quality rivaled US production. Jackson has since become a low end brand and production for the last few years has been mostly out of Indonesia. The guitars suck, comparatively speaking. 6672rock is correct. Not only is "rareelectricguitars" building fake Jacksons, but buying one could get you in trouble, as by doing business with this company you are knowingly acquiring fraudulent goods. At best, you'll wind up with a shitty guitar that is nothing like the one it's meant to"tribute". At the worst, you'll up paying stiff fines. The complaint here isn't about Chinese manufacturing quality. It's about FRAUD, you nitwit. Rareelectricguitars and the poster of this video are both engaging in a criminal act, punishable by 10's of thousands of dollars. Perhaps you think there is nothing wrong with that....but I promise you that Fender, the US State Dept, and all of their attorneys won't find it humorous in the slightest.
So what...it's good for ppl that can't afford the real one. It's a nice sounding and good looking guitar. The Chinese make good good products. Ifyou feel that way...then that's on you.
Ok to those shitting on the chinese made axes. There are enough comments here to show you that you touch something made in China everday, so that argument does not hold up for a second. And Two: Not everyone can afford a Ferrari, but most of us can afford a car made in Mexico.
Whoa whoa whoa whoa... Rare Electric Guitars is legit?? I go to their site all the time for laughs but they're real?... My whole life is a lie now... Shit...
"Why do people shit on china made guitars. Rare electric guitars are better than some expensive gibsons" said a fucking asshat named hawk6111who sells guitars for rarefakeelectricguitars.com
+trillriff-axegrinder I wish. I got kids I wish I was makeing that kind of cash. I'm a player. I've paled some really bad high end gibsons and some really good china fakes. The good fakes are on par with the bad high end gibsons. As long as the neck is thru neck and it's not twisted you can upgrade and work on a fake while you would be scared to do that to a guitar you paied $3000+ for. Or would you risk a refret on a high end guitar out of the box.
WHY oh WHY do you people always demonstrate guitars using far too much distortion? I don't want to hear your amp and effects, I want to hear the guitar. It could have the most appalling buzzing all over the neck after all. Just play it clean, and by the way, I don't want you to show me that you're the next Hendrix, just show me how the guitar plays.
Great playing and excellent tone proves so much is in the playing not just the gear. Thinking of taking a chance on one of these myself. This video helped convince me.
Hey dude thank you for doing a review on this guitar, I have been contemplating buying one for about a year from them now I just never had the balls to just do it
Though that is a fake Jackson, it sounds really good.
Thanks again to rclegg.....after watching his video.....it convinced me to order mine.....it all worked out in the end.......
Just an example of a great guitarist being able to play anything...in my hands this would sound like a $400 POS. Enjoyed the video.
Thank you for the awesome review. I actually ordered one the end of last Friday and I cannot wait for it to get here.
I was also planning on stripping everything, expecting the quality of the electronics and hardware to be.... Well... Chinese haha.

Revelations Mother Earth lol
shame on me lol. thanks dude
im going to change the hardware, im going to change the pickups, im going to change the tuners, nut fretboard, paint it cut it up sand it down and make it into a completely different guitar.
+Dustin Largin Other than that it's perfect...;-)
Same I'm painting an eddie van halen black, white and red striped paint job and give it a killswitch and a 24 fret ebony fretboard
is the import fees high from them to canada
Does the neck have a truss rod? I've read a lot of reviews saying they dont come with a truss rod. Cheers
What's the song you play at 4:20?
I've had my eyes on the KV1 on that site.
I've been scared to death to order it, but it seems like every guitar review I've seen from that website shows that they're actually pretty good.

Kelsie... the old adage "You get what you pay for" applies here. There's lots of info on the web about these guitars.
H Jimm Really? I haven't been able to find many bad things. Mostly good things, and there aren't many about the sight in general.
nice guitar,man.
Actually sounds pretty good but then again you can play. With a good setup no doubt it'll a great player.
okay so its like $500 after you pay shipping and then you still have to do all the things you are going to do to it?
Nice to meet you, I want to buy the same! How can I buy it? Please tell me the name of the store! Thank you.
It’s in the title if they are still around.
Thank you! I couldn't get to the store
man, you made this video before or after change the guitar hardware? thanks
How was it delivered ? Import Tax
how is the neck on this one? are they thin like of jacksons?

quality review, 'bird', fm Michigan.
Do recommend me this guitar I want one but I cant get the real one im on a budget
I'd say no, too far from a decent guitar. Unless you want to put work into it.
@@rclegg ok thanks

Just ordered mine
Nick Greiser Have you got it yet?
I have actually mine took 6 months, the neck pickup cavity is up to far and I have to route a bigger tremendous cavity to fit my charvel Nos brass bridge
Other wise it's a decent guitar, but to be a close to perfect guitar you will have to be prepared to put some money into
good thing i work at a Tom Lee Music when this puppy arrives in the mail I can just take it o my repair guy and get him to do everything from a new set up to changing all the electronics

this is a cheap plank
sorry buy jackson guitars usa only save your money and go for it and never say never anything is possible..

Not necessarily. I bought a USA Jackson and it was garbage.
