Everyone at Usuli, thank you so much for all the work you do. I think I speak for many when I say this institute has radically changed my life and deepened my Iman more than any other Islamic organization. Thank you
For anyone who is itching for the Sheikhs work on the Sirah, the Skeikh has recommended this book and I cannot recommend it enough: “Mohammad: Prophet of Peace Amid the Clash of Empires” by Dr. Juan Cole.
Although there are clashes with Islamic orthodox, those clashes are very reconcilable and the perspective Dr. Cole brings is incredibly beautiful and completely changed my relationship with the Prophet SAW.

I also read the book after the Sheikh recommended it. He brings in a quite unique perspective in my opinion. Thank you for reminding me, have to re-read this one.

I value and respect the Scholar but being disappointed with his interpretation. He starts out with Allah admonishing the Prophet for his behavior to the blind man (his interpretation) and then quotes the Quran of the Prophet’s character being exemplary are opposing to one another. The Prophet sets the example of moral and ethical behavior for mankind-this was his ultimate mission. So I highly doubt he ever frowned to the blind man. And I highly doubt he would be indifferent to the elite or rudely disrespect the blind man-this is not his nature. The Quran is riddled with his exemplary character so I could never believe he ever behaved badly to any being or thing. You can’t be the role model for mankind and be disrespectful to the disabled. Makes no sense.
