Sawing wih Sandy up in Ontario, has a great setup for bucking the logs at waist height. Saves the wear and tear on your back. Trust me having finally been invalided out of the work force after four "serious " back injuries, it pays to take great care of your back. Really good videos thank you. Cheers from HB NZ
I've seen his setup. Its pretty good. I recognize I'm not getting any younger and have been gradually taking steps to be easier on my body. Thanks for watching!
Every time someone complains about my price I want, so bad, to tell them that the stuff doesn’t magically appear on my pallets. But I just keep stacking their wood and make soft grunts to acknowledge they are saying something.
The firewood grind for me is just about to start. December, i tried to get a section of the yard organized and cleaned up, and I did that not its time to split and stack as much as I can till Arpil and May.
im 38 yrs old run firewood becuase i own a tree service. the best thing to help you is a logrite hookaroon. sized from arm straight down to were the head is even with flat of your foot without hitting ground dont wait untill you you hurt your back lifting rounds. you can load your carry all table and logsplitter without bending over. both faster than by hand and eaiser on your body. its also way better than the log ox and those other "goofy" lifting tong type tools. takes a little practice but once you get youll never put down.
I have both the Bahco log tongs and the Logrite pickaroon. I use the tongs way more than the pickaroon. The tongs work way better on the smaller rounds like what was being processed here, than the pickaroon. I find that I spend more time pulling it out of the wood than just releasing it with the tongs. I use the pickaroon on the bigger, heavier rounds,…even if it’s just using it to roll the rounds to the splitter. It may take longer to roll them with it compared to using your hands,…but at least it keeps me from bending over.
@@amandadavis9726could be better for small stuff, i wouldnt know... we run any wood 15 in and under through the chipper on the job site before bringing it to woodyard so were only splitting rounds that produce at least 6 splitts.
Now if you can just get a processing table so you do not have to bend over to cut the rounds, your back will thank you very much in 20 years! I like the rest of your set up because you are getting exercise but not working your back too hard at all!. Best of luck in 2025....and keep grinding!
Yes but There's a certain scale required for a processor. If you don't hit that scale, its just an added cost and you need to deliver a lot more wood to make the same amount of money
@ yes but you do this a lot and it pays for itself after some time. You end up processing more wood if that’s the plan, hence more $. You don’t need a 100K processor.
It's a splitforce. I only recently switched from Wolfe Ridge. Here my video th-cam.com/video/qnmFRaDrF8o/w-d-xo.html I have some other vids of it running if you scroll back in my history you'll see some.

Good to see ya striving to reach your goals bud!
The grind is real!👍👍

Keeping a clean yard is an ongoing job for me. I'm determined not to get it all junked up again.
That white oak there is something i wish i could get so much more of i have customers lined up but i cant get enough to keep their smokers going!
Pretty common here. I don't really get anyone asking for it specifically
I like your splitter set up. Have a good day
@@daveyslogging thanks!
Man we got a grind X2: firewood AND TH-cam. All good times. Keep cuttin' brother!

As others say, do a little each day!! Tge Grind is real!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
Phil would it be easier to spit were you cut then bring splits to bin?❤
I don't know. Seems about the same as hauling the rounds.

I have a pickaroon, not the logrite one, but it works good and I use it sometimes.

@@AndrewAntonelli-dj4qt that explains it all. You just simply don’t have a use for the tongs.

Thanks. Building a table has been on my to do list for a while. Hope to get around to it here real soon
It is if you use a chainsaw and splitter. Way less of a grind with a processor and a fast re-splitter! Just do it.

Logox or something comparable . Save that back .
I have a couple things and use them sometimes.
You're wasting your effort.
Re-read my earlier post to you.
Work smarter, not harder.
Give him time. You did give him a good idea. 😉👍
I'm always improving. I like your farm wagon idea.
