- This would probably be a fun video to post. Apparently, I found a nice tape that has what seems like an unheard Gameshark thingy for the PS1. And of course, I managed to fuck stuff up and got it not only on a very low quality (stupid capture card), but also got a really rare fearful harmony. So... enjoy the capture, I guess.

Yep, it is because a fearful harnokny occurs during bios corruption due to loadijng an invalid disc, and due to the logo being stored on the disc itself, it should ever appear during a fearful harmony
The PS logo slowly rotating with nothing else on the screen... feels like something nobody is supposed to see or know about, like an infohazard, chills
i like how the PS1 logo slowly moves while the fearful harmony starts playing, it adds in the creepy vibes, expecially with the vhs effect

This is actually very creepy. Although, the PS logo actually is 3D in the real console. It can move when the bios is corrupted, but impossible for it to move smoothly. That is actually very interesting.

Due to creation history, it would be impossible for a PS logo to rotate just like that in 1994, after all some programming had to be studied like the moving cubes on PS2 and other programming skills.

It is weird for the PlayStation logo to turn like that people have recently found out that the PlayStation logo in the console start up is actually a 3D model and there’s actually another video out there that shows the PlayStation logo facing forward

Even some pirate discs from Paradox and at least a Hong Kong compilation of Gameshark/Action Replay disc use different PS logos - even those were obvious they were 3D - Paradox has a "PDX" logo, and the HK compilation disc I have uses a "shock hazard" diamond shaped logo.
Oh, and certain pirate russian masters of some games (one of them being a late PAL beta of Abe's Exoddus) use a SRU logo instead of the standard PS logo.

Yoo, this is some legit stuff right here. It has the makings of a Petscop or SM64 beta archive kind of mystery. I know doing a full fledged multi-part ARG type thing takes a ton of time and work, but if you ever decide to get real ambitious I bet you'd be able to pull off something crazy. Btw the way the game just starts up after the creepy logo sequence is the icing on the cake.

@@oh_no_no_no I think you got the point. What makes it creepy is the eerie chimes that play when the logo turns. Usually, when Fearful Harmony occurs, the screen turns black, there's a giant diamond with the "Playstation" word appear and disappear. I also watched that there's another rare type of Fearful Harmony, the screen turns total glitchy when the chimes play. To be honest, this is the creepiest sound I ever heard in my whole life, aside from Personified Fear. (I used to fear the PS2 RSOD, but because I'm getting used to it, I'm not scared anymore.)
The creepiest sounds (and things) I heard and saw in my life are:

The game over screen and the anti piracy song from Sonic CD (US version by the way)
The vib-ribbon game over music (I used to be kinda scared of it due to vibri jumpscare in one of the game overs)
the nick jr logo from 1999 (I used to the be scared of the music)
the music in the aardman Animations logo from 1990(?) (That thing, its scares me)
The screen that appears when you insert a dmaaged disc into the Wii (I played the wii at my grandparents house and when that screen appeared I got scared and sometimes theres a loud noise)

while it is not intentional, i can fairly say that it gives the "wrong" vibe much better than when i downloaded a normal version. sounds so familiar yet so wrong

3D model is too big in size to implement that into BIOS. BIOS is 512kb. They even used 3 sounds, but played on different speed and pitch to get startup sound.

No, it’s in the BIOS. It only shows the PlayStation logo and information once a disc is loaded.
And also, 3D models can be more efficient than bitmaps, and Sony chose the former, so yeah.
