But looking on the Bright Side, the Methane gas extracted there is used to produce electricity. We do a lot of swimming there, boat riding and many other fun things though there's a limit we can't cross as that side is the deadly one, where the lake can literally swallow you because of the Methane gas. About 87,000 people live in that city where its located and it has a pretty decent number of tourists going there too. Y'all should definitely try it if you are looking for an amazing adventure.

And occasionally the lava underground every know and then emits loads of gas, CO2 or methan, I forget. It's heavier than air and suffocates land born creatures or those not fast enough to fly away.

A gallon is a defined volume, and gases can occupy defined volumes but have varying densities for that volume, that's why they are measured in ppt or ppm (or a similar unit) for dissolved gases, and with pressure units when in their gaseous state. I've seen air measured in gallons, and that kinda works, on average, but even air density changes a ton around the planet. A gallon of air where I live is less dense than a gallon in florida, there for the unit doesnt really mean much.
