Hello, I thought I might just add that on Australian models the procedure is virtually the same however the light doesn't flash, you hold down the throttle for just over a minute and then let go of the throttle and the light resets itself. Must admit I would prefer the light to flash like it does in the video because at least then you know somethings happening, whereas over here you just have to keep your fingers crossed. Thanks for your videos!
@@redram52 I was wondering if you knew how to do the reset on a Mitsubishi MR Triton please? I dread posting these things on the forums, because most people don't have a clue about the oil dilution, or what the X represents on the dipstick. You have explained it perfectly and I just did this one on a 2021 D-MAX here in Australia. Its slightly different as Jack Jackson points out, but seems to work, so thanks for that... I have asked on the Triton forum over here and been told I am basically talking rubbish and then they think I am referring to the 'service' reset, which I'm not. I have a basic scan tool, which is a bluedriver, but i don't think it has the function to reset the oil level. Appreciate any help you might have and thanks for the videos so far 🙂
I have an Australian 2023 model and this don’t work. I have no idea if it’s re set or not. No light on, but I changed my oil and tried this, nothing happens.
It doesn’t tell the ecu it’s been changed so weird things start happening and you’ll end up with the oil level rising. Usually with diesel being added to thin the oil as it’s ‘not been changed’. If the level gets to a certain height on the dipstick you run the risk of an engine run away situation where it’ll feed off the oil rather than the fuel and it causes irreparable damage.
@@liamyoung8915 the ecu thinks the oils been changed but it hasn’t so you won’t get the service reminder and you will have old oil going round the engine causing increased engine wear.

You’re welcome and thanks for the update.

@@simonar1look for Mitsubishi L200, that’s what it’s called here in the UK.

Hi, what about an Isuzu D-MAX without a key and with a start button?
Thanks for the tip. I’m about to get the BT 50 which is basically an Isuzu. It has the same engine, so I’m guessing it has the same reset procedure?
If it’s got the same software…
Will this work on isuzu mux too?
Sadly this does not work for me. The icon never starts flashing
May need to plug a diagnostic device into it to see if there’s any fault codes. The light does many things
@@redram52 Will look into it. I don't have the light on during normal operation, I only tried this trick after a recent oil change
What happens if you change the oil but don’t reset this?
