During this interview, Jari was composing. He was there, he was present, but he was also spiriting between worlds unbeknownst to mere mortals, sipping from the Milky Way whenever thirsty.
This interview seriously changed my look on Jari. I got into Wintersun due to the controversy over the crowd funding and I thought Jari was a sort of a Diva with a hint of narcissism. I listened to the music though and I loved it but I sort of had that opinion on him even though I had respect for him as a musician because he is an amazing musician. That opinion completely changed I saw them live and he had so much energy and he was so cool with the fans and after watching this interview he seems so chill and so cool. Jari is now one of my favorite musicians ever and I I'm certain it will stay that way.
People tend to misunderstand Jari. They just hear the buzzwords of "genius," "master" and even "god" thrown around in relation to him, and then proceed to think that's his opinion on himself too. I've pretty much watched all his interviews by now, and it looks to me like he's actually kinda sheepish and almost embarrassed by the hype around him. He's definitely a respectful and pleasant guy. Wish people would investigate more before jumping to conclusions!
What is really worth mentioning is that you're asking interesting non-standard questions. Not the usual "What about Time II" stuff that Jari has been asked a quadrillion times before. Well done! Now go on with Teemu und Jukka :D
These interviews are very unique and done with good sense of humor which also lightens the atmosphere for the musicians and creates interesting discussions. Keep it up A&P! Greetings from Finland \m/
What you said in the interview about listening to time when your father passed i had the same feeling when i visited my grandmother grave on her 3rd death anniversary the song time started playing in my head
It's pretty rare that I watch interviews that are longer than 10 minutes, because most of them are pretty predictable. You more or less know the questions before they've even been asked and you kind of get bored hearing the same stuff from artist all over again. But here I am, just having watched AN HOUR long interview that I didn't stop for a second. I really like your style of doing interviews and how your interviews have this personal touch in them. You manage to bring out whole new things from the people you interview and for me it looks like artists are positively surprised as well and really open with you. Keep up the good work!
Listening to this interview brought such happiness and excitement within me, I barely stopped smiling like an awed dork for the whole hour. It's the longest I've smiled in a long time, as I've been going through a rough time in life for a while now. But listening to Wintersun brings life back into my soul, it touches me in a way that.. makes me feel alive. Like someone is putting energy back into my spirit, even if it's only for a brief moment. And listening to this interview, I was completely captured and blown away with interest and wonder. I love hearing what Jari has to talk about and say, and getting to know not only himself better, but getting to know you as the interviewer as well since this is the first video of yours I'm seeing, I feel more connected. Even though neither of you know who I am, just the feeling of connecting to someone, especially since the area I moved to is rather isolated and very lonely, it makes me feel human again. Thank you for doing this interview, it brought me such joy to sit down for a while and just be taken away for a while.
That was most excellent! Would be nice to get to talk to Jari. He seems down to earth type of guy. I have same kind of tale about the Wintersun song as you. Jari released the new mix of Land Of Snow And Sorrow, few hours after I got information of my mother passing. That song got a new meaning for me and I still have difficulties to listen it without tears... Beautiful song and now an anthem to me, about my mother.
I’m sitting here watching this and grinning like an idiot 😄 What a great interview! Relaxed and not predictable/typical. And Jari has a lovely smile 🙂. I hope I can see Wintersun on stage once.
I feel like I've said this before, but your interviews are great. You always get more interesting answers to the non standard questions that regular interviewers always seem to ask and that gets boring. Keep this up for sure, Jari is the man
Dang I kinda got emotional at the end too. This was a really fun and insightful interview. I remember discovering your channel through Sons of winter and stars and waiting for every single Wintersunday...and now here we are you interviewed the man himself. It's truly a magical feeling seeing this channel grow and me growing along with it ^-^! Keep it up guys From a loyal fan
This Interview is incredible good. Jari is such a calm and nice person. He is so talebted and hard working & he and the band deserves way more support. AP React, thank you for doing this!
I’m fairly new to Wintersun and this interview has given me greater insight into the band and the music. This along with continuing to watch the rest of your Wintersun reactions will be a great journey. Thank you again!🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This is one of the most respectful and interesting interviews I've seen someone has done with Jari, also pretty fun to watch. I hope you get to know the wintersun guys on that bbq you talked about at the end :D. Saludos desde España amigo, me encanta el trabajo que estás haciendo, tanto entrevistas como reacciones, seguid así!!
Holy Fk, I saw that video pop up when i was at work. The last hours felt so long, but now I'm finally home and can watch the whole interview. Thank you for your content! :D
This is the proof that your channel has grown to such a big thing. Incredible that you got to interview THE man behind all this! I also met Jari last summer, not only is he a genius but also a humble person. Thank you so much for this!
I wish I'd seen this a bit earlier. So cool. I've never seen an interview of Jari before. Ironically enough, I only discovered them recently, even though I'm a metalhead from Finland :D And yeah, sauna is definitely an inherently Finnish thing. More saunas than cars here.
So good video, no boring questions and you can see there is true interest to the subject. Yeah, I have watched this many times but after searching something similar I can really respect this
As soon as I started to watch this interview I couldn't stop watching it, because you talked and asked Jari so much in depth questions, about things I myself had been wondering of. This was a great interview, and keep up the great work with your channel and looking forward to more from you and your son. Metal forever. Greetings from Sweden Gothenburg.
When my aunt die I was listening alot Swallow the Sun: Songs from North II. Still this day that album brings tear in my eye. One of the song is my morning alarm on phone.
very nice interview. you will freaking love them live, saw them live 2 months ago when they warmed up for arch enemy and i felt bad for arch enemy, i've seen legends like metallica, slayer and manowar live but hearing time and sons of winter and stars live was something else..
Hey Pedro, longtime viewer here :P I still can't believe you got Jari on the channel. I remember when you guys were just starting off... listening to Wintersun @ Sonic Pump Studios for the first time and falling in love. You've come so far! And this is a great interview! I'm really enjoying it. I await the day when Wintersun tour the US again and I can see Genius Jari in person myself.
Spoiler: he's a tall and friendly person :D Calm, but not shy. Good listener but also great at talking about himself, as you can see here. So, use the chance and ask him anything you ever wondered about. I got some interesting info I never knew of. They will probably be in the US soon - I'm just not sure if before or after festival season. Have fun then!
Yes!!!! This was awesome and I'm really happy for you guys, definitely well deserved since your channel is great, Wintersun is just fantastic all around. Also, his accent is lovely. 🤘🍻
Jari likes it or not, I want a Wintersun vinyl. :D Forest seasons sounds so organic and kind of raw and I think that Forest Seasons would work great on vinyl. I can understand why Jari would be reluctant to release Time on vinyl.
I think you would be amazed that sometimes I have no questions written down and I just go with the vibe of the person being interviewed...case and point Jinjer.
Não sabia que eras português!boa!! Grande entrevista, vi-os ao vivo o ano passado em vagos e toda a gente ficou de boca aberta com o concerto, ninguém estava a espera desta banda ser tão boa! Continua com o bom trabalho, abraço
Such a nice interview....and finally -Death and the healing-my always favourite song and it really gives the same feelings to me like its said in the interview!Keep the spirit!
Death and the healing is my fav song of Wintersun, very inspiring and as Jari said, maybe it has that healing power... Great interview!!! Congrats! , Jari is a great artist and Wintersun an incredible band. Please do an interview with Teemu, Jukka and Kai, we need it!!
An interesting interview. Way better than the typical short interviews consisting of pretty much just same old tour and album questions. Nice that it was a long one, more can get covered. Thanks for that to both parties. I’m like that with finding flaws. I tear films to shreds for example >.< If I voice it and depending on how I word it (although the wording doesn’t seem to make much difference for a lot of people), it gives people the impression I don’t appreciate things because I’m critical, but I merely analyse things a lot and see what personally I would have done differently, or just mull things over. That doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate things. Being analytical is a good trait when applied productively and generally speaking in my opinion because it can lead to improvement, a better understanding of things, and just keeps the mind active among other reasons. It’s a fitting trait for a musician. I think it’d be good if people put more thought into things, although I possibly over analyse myself and my experiences which arguably isn’t so good :) I'm sure it helps Jari make subjectively better music though. “Those hit songs in the radio” get boring fast to me if they even hold any interest in the first place as they’re generally lacking in depth, complexity, and are overly repetitive (in my opinion of course), so I personally hope Jari isn’t moving towards engineering songs with that in mind. The popularity is generally short lived as they’re not noteworthy enough to live on. Does anyone catch what word Jari says at 16:38? It’s probably something obvious but now I’ve heard it wrong once it’s just going to sound forever like a garbled nonsensical word. Thanks in advance. 18 months for a booklet? -_^ wouldn’t it be more time and cost effective to hire someone to make it? I know money was tight but surely money was comparatively more tight after 18 months making the booklet himself, but then again I guess when you get started you don’t really know how long it’s going to take to get something like that done yourself when you’re a perfectionist with little or no pre-existing skill in that area. From what I’ve seen, to me, Jari comes across as perhaps being overly prideful of doing things himself which has perhaps become counter-constructive. Maybe that played a part in why he went for that option. Then again, he’s learning new skills in the process which is no bad thing, so it’s constructive in a sense :) there’s no necessity for him to do anything differently anyway and the results are good, so ehh.
Loved the interview! Your question were not "run of the mill" and it felt all natural. Wow... Wintersun's last time at Wacken was indeed in 2006? I was there and it was amazing. I saw them a second time that same year at a small indoor festival in rural Franconia. I remember there was a total blackout in huge parts of Germany because one of the main electric power lines was cut off. When Wintersun performed their second song (Winter Madness?), the venue went completely dark for some minutes and they corteously repeated it afterwards. Now I've just realised that I haven't seen them in 12 years... it's high time I went again!
Fuck, what an achievement. I've been thinking about starting this kind of channel for a month or so (but only in italian). This video right here brings me a lot of motivation.
"Sauna" is a Finnish word, it's actually the only Finnish word that is used in the English language. Sauna is a Finnish invention dating back thousands of years
The main reason I know Wintersun is because I brought their first album by accident instead of another one that i forgot. Since then that was when I got introduced to the band
The nervous I have ever been before the interview. We talked for 5 minutes before going live and that made me more at ease. After we finished the live feed, we stayed on for 10 minutes and my son got to talk to him and we chat which was so cool. This has been a crazy week for me. Asim, Jinjer and now Jari.
You certainly handled it well as it didn't seem like you were nervous at all. Really good interview too. It's interesting to see how fast your channel has gone from doing "mere" reaction videos to doing both album reviews and interviews with some of the greatest musicians in metal.
MOONSORROW - Suden Tunti th-cam.com/video/btI0AiJAC70/w-d-xo.html Moonsorrow julkaisi uransa ensimmäisen musiikkivideon kappaleelle ”Suden tunti”, joka löytyy albumilta “Jumalten Aika”. ’Suden Tunti’ on folk metalin pimeä puoli - Fenrisin ja Odinin eeppinen taistelu uudenlaisesta perspektiivistä" Ville Sorvali kertoo. ”On bändin puolesta yllättävää olla tilanteessa, jossa meillä on vihdoin virallinen musiikkivideo. Musiikin tekeminen ilman kompromisseja juuri niinkuin bändi haluaa, on jo riittävän vaikeaa.
I think vinyl is the only true way to own music now, because even a CD is a physical thing but the files are still digital. Not that I buy vinyl lol. But having said that I agree with Jari about 'how it should sound' as the music is all mixed on a PC so converting it back to vinyl doesn't make much sense. Obviously this doesn't apply to older music or depending how its recorded/mixed.
I don’t think I’ve clicked on a notification so fast in my entire life.
Enjoy!!!!
Ha ha, same here!
wow the man from a small reaction channel is now walking with the gods!! fantastic interview
During this interview, Jari was composing. He was there, he was present, but he was also spiriting between worlds unbeknownst to mere mortals, sipping from the Milky Way whenever thirsty.
if you say so

Jari seems like a chill guy with zero ego. That's awesome!
When I see a great band, I always buy the hard copy cds/dvds/etc, and Wintersun is one of those bands. Thanks for sharing this interview!
We Love Wintersun 😎
looks like a nice guy and fun... his band is just awesome! Congrats...
This was awesome, well done, guys!
Thanks, that was a quick one hour gone when the interview was so interesting, could have listen to an other hour...thanks for giving this to us.
This was great! Your interviews allways have very easy feeling to them and there's no hurry. Thank you!
wow! this must be pretty surreal for you, thanks for the great interview
Indeed it was....this whole week has been nuts...first Jinjer now Jari.
I wish I'd seen this a bit earlier. So cool. I've never seen an interview of Jari before. Ironically enough, I only discovered them recently, even though I'm a metalhead from Finland :D
And yeah, sauna is definitely an inherently Finnish thing. More saunas than cars here.
Thanks for this interview. I'm going to one of the request shows and it's going to be the first metal concert I've ever been in!
You're goint have an amazing time
What a great interview, thanks Pedro!
So cool...One hour interview with the Artist ...thank you Pedro (and Jari of course)! Your channel really deserves a Lot more subscribers.
We do appropriate the ones we have, give us a reason to continue to do these cool interviews.
What a great interview! Really enjoyed it! Much respect to you and Wintersun! :)
So good video, no boring questions and you can see there is true interest to the subject. Yeah, I have watched this many times but after searching something similar I can really respect this

My favorite interviewer and my favorite musician! So amazing!!
This was super fun. Thanks for asking him funny and personal stuff too. If this interview had been a whole day long i'd still have watched it.
When my aunt die I was listening alot Swallow the Sun: Songs from North II. Still this day that album brings tear in my eye. One of the song is my morning alarm on phone.
Thank you so much for the interview. It's really interesting.
Jari is so kind person. He is the sun for the world.
very nice interview. you will freaking love them live, saw them live 2 months ago when they warmed up for arch enemy and i felt bad for arch enemy, i've seen legends like metallica, slayer and manowar live but hearing time and sons of winter and stars live was something else..
Thank you so much for this! Really enjoyed this interview with the legend. :)
Aaaah man thanx so much for this. Jari is one of my superheroes! I wish I could interview him one day as well
Awesome interview! I saw them perform in Glasgow Scotland 2 months ago, best band ever :)
It will be sooner than you think.
Outstanding interview Pedro and Jari. This channel introduced me to Wintersun - fantastic !
Yes!!!! This was awesome and I'm really happy for you guys, definitely well deserved since your channel is great, Wintersun is just fantastic all around. Also, his accent is lovely. 🤘🍻
Great! Jari behave like a calm person but very alert about the moment right now deep inside. Cool, usually such people have very strong personality.
Best hour I've spent this year.
What a great interview! was a great watch even 3 years after release
Fascinating interview of my idol and the modern day Mozart!
Wow! Best guitarist in finland
Jari likes it or not, I want a Wintersun vinyl. :D Forest seasons sounds so organic and kind of raw and I think that Forest Seasons would work great on vinyl. I can understand why Jari would be reluctant to release Time on vinyl.
Congrats Pedro, great interview!
This is awesome!
That was a really good interview! You're a natural at this, so well prepared
Obrigado

That was an amazing interview, congrats!
That is the plan!!!

Really good questions!
Wow, good interview! I don't know why I haven't stumbled upon this before! Um abraço de um compatriota!
Obrigado
First time I ever heard Wintersun was on the Arch Enemy tour, I became an instant fan, a great fusion of power/death metal.

Chris Impellitteri!! Killer Guitar Player!! Good Interview!!
He's amazing. and beautiful.
jari seems like a nice enough dude. Hell of a musician!
best metal channel ever
Loved the interview! Your question were not "run of the mill" and it felt all natural.

I've been thinking about starting this kind of channel for a month or so (but only in italian).
This video right here brings me a lot of motivation.
We started our channel in July, anything is possible as long as you want it bad enough.
Greetings from Finland 😎
"Sauna" is a Finnish word, it's actually the only Finnish word that is used in the English language. Sauna is a Finnish invention dating back thousands of years
Not finnish invention but mostly used
gotta love Jari
The main reason I know Wintersun is because I brought their first album by accident instead of another one that i forgot. Since then that was when I got introduced to the band
What a cool mistake
I am going to make some popcorn to enjoy this!
Jari is glowing. Looks super happy.
So great that u did this seriously!
This is great!
Can't imagine Jari wandering around his house in pajama pants? Of course you can't! He doesn't wear pants
I still buy cd's and listen those at the home, but also ripping the cd to mp3's at 1st day to listen in the car and at the work.
Don´t rip them as mp3 files, rip them as WAV files.
nice interview m3n, saw this in my youtube and i did a flick shot like in counter strike to enter this video
caught me off guard
Great interview! Many interviewers like their own voice too much and constantly speak over the guest. No such problems here.
I fucking love him!!!!! he's the best!
Go Jari! Go!
the master himself :OO
Most awesome! I'm curious how you felt during and after the interview?
The nervous I have ever been before the interview. We talked for 5 minutes before going live and that made me more at ease. After we finished the live feed, we stayed on for 10 minutes and my son got to talk to him and we chat which was so cool. This has been a crazy week for me. Asim, Jinjer and now Jari.
A&P-REACTS that's great! I'm happy for you :)
You certainly handled it well as it didn't seem like you were nervous at all. Really good interview too. It's interesting to see how fast your channel has gone from doing "mere" reaction videos to doing both album reviews and interviews with some of the greatest musicians in metal.

Moonsorrow julkaisi uransa ensimmäisen musiikkivideon kappaleelle ”Suden tunti”, joka löytyy albumilta “Jumalten Aika”.
