From an Westerner perspective, I can be emphatic and comprehend why the athletes want to improve their families economical predicaments. However- the Caban national basketball players have more humanity values with family, friends, community, and nationalism than American professional athletes. It is so sad that some say that they play for the people not for money. To me, this is wasted talent. They will regret this when they get very old. They will look back and shed tears. They would have nothing of value to show for their talents in their youth not valuable assets to leave behind for their offspring.
America has completely turned sports into businesses. Teams are literally owned by individuals. Losing touch with reality one day at a time. Love this reporter
Paying people to play games is stupid But what Cuba should have done to be practical is allow players to play abroad and charge big fees for them to re enter or send money back to the country. Everyone wins in that situation and Cuba national teams won't suffer so much. Hell even the Cuban baseball team ain't doing great anymore
That’s royalty for you bless their hearts. I truly don’t think they’re missing out on much. Yes we may have money and luxury in the western world. But we’ve lost a lot of deep values to humanity which they still have. Also the more we have the more we want. I’d love to go back to simplicity of life where no one is glued to a smartphone. We can’t even talk ten minutes in a gathering without most going on them and forget we’re around each other. The one thing I don’t agree with is freedom of religion and speech there. But I love Cuban people they always seem so happy and share their little wealth with each other. That’s very beautiful but they do have to work hard for little in return. Can’t win
And I also don’t think anyone in cuba is happy with their situation there’s no freedom I could go on and on this subject because I’m from Cuba and I’m baseball player who just graduated high school a year ago and I’m playing college baseball now I have future in the Us and there’s no one telling me what to do when to do it and how to do things. And let me also give you a reality check money isn’t everything but it is very important if you have money you can provide for your family and yourself and have security and be financially stable. Also if you think that cuban people that live in cuba aren’t missing out on much and that’s a good life that they are living I dare you to go there and live for a whole year with no money at all like they are and no food to see if you come back thinking the same way. Khazfad communism is the worst. Let me give you an example Usain Bolt didn’t have the best facilities or the best resources eventually he worked his way up and look where he is now. In cuba no matter the work you put in there is no hope no future unless you defect.
