    People know that Lyles had COVID. It’s just easier to criticize him because he has a larger than life personality. But at the end of the day, Noah Lyles is the reigning Olympic 100m Champion, and with that came millions more followers and bonuses from his sponsors. Enjoy your 9-5

    How does he deal with all that pressure specifically when it comes to sleep? My sleep is always terrible the night before a race. It's like I know I need to get good sleep so that causes me not to get good sleep and then my mind won't shut off. It kind of ruins it for me trying to run off of barely any sleep and of course I always end up running really slow.

    Became a 100m champion with COVID?? Ayt, why couldn't he do the same for the 200? Let's stop acting like this man would've won the 200 even if he was fully healthy. Letsile ran very fast. Noah would've had to run one of his top 4 best times to beat him, which is not easy to do. Noah has won World Champs running 19.8 before. So, it's not always a given that he'll run insanely fast in a final. Just take the L like a man and get better, bro. It's that simple! You going on a campaign to indirectly discredit what Letsile did when he beat you is not exemplary behaviour. Many people on that field also had their own issues going into the race, as was the case in the 100m. None of them are making as much noise as you are about why they lost. If you're that guy, show it in the next Olympics. Don't lose to the "kids" again, especially on an event that you call your wife

    • @kobina9175
      @kobina9175 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      @@lesegogaborone2439 did I miss where Noah said he should have won the 200m? I only hear him saying how grateful and happy he is for winning the bronze…unless he says this somewhere else and I missed it…as for winning the 100m “with COVID” he says according to what “we know” about Covid it was in his body but the symptoms hadn’t manifested yet which i agree obviously then doesn’t mean much and is really just a technicality that doesn’t hold much value, but a fact is a fact.

    • @lesegogaborone2439
      @lesegogaborone2439 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kobina9175 He does not directly say that he should've won the 200m, but I believe that it's very clear that he's trying to imply that the incredibly short bout he had with COVID is the only reason he didn't pull off the double, and potentially the triple, like he's been so confidently and arrogantly proclaiming that he's going to do. Almost every single interview he's had leading up to the Olympics, he's left no reservation that he was going to win the 200m. On top of that, he's been remarkably condescending towards other athletes with regards to their ability to challenge him-- especially in the 200m. He may have contracted COVID, but it was clearly mild at best, if not a false positive. So, in my opinion, he didn't lose that race because of COVID, he lost to a person that was just much faster than him on that day. I also believe that him suddenly needing medical attention at the end was either him trying to act like COVID affected him more than it really did, or it was a real physiological manifestation of his shock that he lost the race, again, his embarrassment for having lost despite having sworn and promised that he would win and, lastly, his anxiety that he now had to swallow his words and pride after the flatulent arrogance he displayed towards Kenny and Tebogo, and the other athletes, in his campaign leading up to the Olympics. He may say he's grateful all he wants, but there's absolutely no way that guy is not burning with fury inside for having failed to rise to the olympic occasion, yet again, in an event which he claimed nobody could beat him in. Also, what other choice does he have but to say he's grateful? Coz if he says he despises that medal like he did the last one and swears that next time he'll leave with gold, people will remind him that that's what he said the last time and he didn't deliver...

    • @kobina9175
      @kobina9175 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ I hear you but I don’t see that. He is clearly playing a role to bring more attention to the sport and HIMSELF which is very risky because when you lose as he has done and will continue to because it is a competitive sport you get ridiculed. During the 200m rounds everyone was asking what is wrong with Noah Lyles?! He looked totally different from how he did in any other races. So when the Covid news came out it made complete sense to me at least and I don’t see anywhere he has slighted Tebogo. I see Noah putting on a lot of bravado to bring attention but in defeat I guess I don’t see what you see. Tebogo is actually my favourite sprinter out of the 2 but I don’t get the Noah slander. Furthermore I see the bravado that Noah has been putting on as a response to his Bronze in the 200m in Tokyo where he felt his mentality cost him and he needed to be more confident in his abilities which we can clearly see he has responded in that manner behaviour-wise. I’ve heard him shoutout Tebogo and for me I’ll harp on that. It’s sad to see the majority of track fans reading between the lines only to Noah’s detriment and never the other way around.

    • @lesegogaborone2439
      @lesegogaborone2439 23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@kobina9175 I respect that there are differences in our opinions. My assessment of Noah comes from the greater context of what his behavior has been in the last few years. That's why I have come to the conclusions I have come to about his shenanigans at the Olympics. People keep saying that he's doing what he's doing to boost his self-confidence and to bring more eyes to the sport. But, for me, there's a difference between confidence and arrogance and Noah's behavior, undoubtedly, bespeaks the latter. Usain Bolt was confident, but he was always sure to be very respectful towards his competitors-- even Gatlin, his greatest opponent towards the later part of his career. And we both know how many eyes Bolt brought to the sport. So, arrogance is clearly not a prerequisite for increasing the popularity of the sport. The consequences of Noah's arrogance have clearly been good for the sport in terms of viewership, but that does not necessarily mean that his behavior is good and exempt from critique, especially since there are potentially millions of children that look up to him. In my opinion, his behavior is not exemplary of the sort of sports ethos that kids should aspire to. But, that's just me and my values, obviously, which, at the end of the day, are a subjective imposition on him of my own beliefs about how a good sportsman should behave. I'm just not buying his antics and I firmly believe that his manners and esteem of other athletes are superlatively deplorable.That's it! Noah has done well for himself and for the sport. Literally all his races are exciting and he's been given his due respect for what he has done. But, it's also not realistic to expect people, especially those who love the sport, to not be critical of his conduct when it's poor in character. He acts like that a lot and so people criticize him a lot for it

    • @lesegogaborone2439
      @lesegogaborone2439 23 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@kobina9175 Additionally, I agree with you that Noah never directly said anything that detracts from Tebogo. That's why I say his attempts to do so have been "indirect". And yes, he did shout him out. But, for me, I just feel like he did that because he had no other choice. That's literally the only thing that could've made him look better after all the display of arrogance and pride, and being condescending towards the other athletes, before that race. His alternative was to just keep quiet and have people ridicule him for having lost despite having claimed that there's absolutely no way that was going to happen. Now, at least, some people can cut him some slack for having given Tebogo a shout out. For ME, though, it was an absolutely fake display of humility that came from his desperation to salvage something from his wounded ego
