You meant the difference between the readings of lengths tabulated in my table? Please bear in mind that it does not matter whether the difference between the lengths are 20cm (constant) or changes. Most important is that , you need to perform 6 readings if the questions asked for 6 readings. Hope that helps yea....Do comment if you are still confuse.

Yes absolutely you can and usually that’s how it is done (if it’s not mentioned in the question that requires you to start the scale with 0)
yes you can start with any values you like,but...avoid using odd scales like 3, 7, 11😀
