    I work at such a plant. If the slightest thing is mislabeled we can be shut down and they will take indefinite amounts of time to check everything we've been doing. Health codes are far stricter then any food industry and the state can absolutely check our cameras at any moment. If you wipe your nose(even if it's your sleeve at your shoulder) at the wrong time and don't immediately go to wash your hands then they will definitely call and most likely get you fired. Then the shops would just trade places with each other and reopen with a new location. You're aware that america has already tried the reparations thing before right? Of course you're not because you believe whatever media bs they throw at you, instead of looking into things yourself, and the media isn't going to mention the details that don't fit their narrative. Are you going to give reparations to all the people who were slaves because it wasn't just black people, but when people are talking about it nowadays they only mention reparations for black people. There were chinese slaves in the west, and I'm sure there were native slaves and mexican slaves, among others... • @joymanifestor4561
      @joymanifestor4561 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And also, reparations are to help heal the injuries that had legally but wrongly happened to groups of people, and that is not limited to slavery at all, though you are right that Blacks have probably been more disproportionately affected than any other race. Yes, it’s true that settlers stole all the land in North America. And we are still undoing that damage. The reservations were a lousy substitute but fortunately there has been some more equitable economic remedies in the creation of casino businesses on land controlled by native Americans. Similarly, the marijuana industry is a big opportunity and could be a much needed boost to those groups who had been disproportionately harmed by previous enforcement of “drug” related offenses, particularly black Americans.

    In the UK, it’s much more straightforward to sell weed as a business. No regulation at all, in fact you don’t even have to pay any tax and the police can’t afford the resources to care, usually. In fact, you’re less likely to be busted than in the US where if you even slightly break one rule by accident and risk jail time. They don’t knock on your door to snoop around twice a year here.

      The American dream died a long time ago. In the 1900s it America truly was a dream, you could come here from another country, work manual labor for a few months, buy a decent house, receive an education and become a successful entrepreneur. Now there’s no manual labor to work so making money is much harder and wages are lower than ever before and now you can’t afford rent with minimum wage in any state, the education system is ineffective with more than 70% of people graduating college and high school getting a successful job within the first 10 years, and almost all young adults still live with their parents. Then we have the poverty cycle which makes sure poor people’s children stay poor keeping entire generations in poverty. No more dreams, only nightmares.

      Well the expensive 'legal' part, or, making it legal part, basically ensures that there's not a bubble that gets popped too soon as far as net gains and capital goes, from what it sounds like. Thus the people who can afford to be in business right now and argue with their local and state governments are getting a larger pay day and 'hashing' out all the bugs in the system, (sorry I thought it was funny) than if they wait awhile and then try to apply when it's less risky in their minds as far as investment goes, of even the most conservative venture capitalists, by then though the people who spent the money for the business license and stuff already have their whole production distribution and cultivation processes down to a smoothness even the federal enforcement agencies appreciate cause they think the regulations or their enforcement are crap too, sometimes. Anyway, by then, their name brands have gained a steady following and known by the industry and the enforcement agents know them as legit and their consumers and clientele list has been built up, and so as far as all that goes it's not really unlike any other business with it's issues. I mean social media monetization and marketing and information and revenue crap is still being fought over and regulations are pretty much the same as far as that goes. Anyway, by then though, it will be just like many other business owners who actually appreciate the regulations which ultimately make it easier for them to make money because of the limits placed on not just anyone being able to gain access to the industry.
      Problem becomes when local and state officials realize they can make more money off taxes and attract more businesses and even people like these with an increase in the number of licscenses they issue, which would bring the cost and startup costs and wait times down for these businesses, so while these newly licensed business owners may be griping about them, right now, they are definitely not having to wonder about where their next meal is coming from when they get the munchies.
      Plus, when your name as a politician goes into the books as boosting your economy thru streamlining a legalized process and using the revenue to basically make sure there are no I'll effects to the communities socially as far as crime goes then your chances of getting reelected go up. Plus, the people interviewed here, moved States for their privatized businesses and work opportunities and with their obvious visits to speak on regulations, in a matter that convinces people to change certain laws you aren't attracting obviously the average idiot that is gonna be like, "Nah, main this is B%llsh@t." Instead you get the people who are specific and have a growing head which I can assume they take care of as well with their own products, so you get something more like, "While I respect the industry and its regulations that allow me to remain in business in your lovely city, state, nation, universe, ect. I do find the inequalities expressed in the legislation put forth in paragraph _____, section _____, rather inhibitory to the daily workings of my: delivery routes, capitalization of funds based on increased expenditures in this area, which could be prempted by allowing for ______. Which falls in line with the original situational concerns which created the legislation, meanwhile still allowing for all these businesses, not just mine, slightly more room to operate within those constraints. It would also have the added benefit of ________." So yeah, there's that.
      It's like women and being strippers or not. You can be beautiful, you can dance, but when it comes to the world's, or men, in general's, perception of you there are men out there that would only marry ivy league graduates with portfolios and established vocations in 'normal' fields, that's if you are beautiful or not, fat or thin, marriage is the thing they do from the head and not the heart, even though men are visual so they won't even look into your portfolio unless there is some centerfold quality or magnetic attraction that you have to both the little boy and the man there, but that's a different topic, and then the strippers and everyother woman or female they wouldn't marry, fall under entertainment, as long as the men get past their respective bouncers, which they will have in one form or another, be it moving to a secured residence where their rights and abilities to do themselves (whatever that happens to be) aren't inhibited too much with either regulations, public scrutiny that makes living outside your home an impossibility, enforcement, or violence. It's stupid but if money basically drives everything then everything becomes a business with regulations and legal obligations, along with societal pressure, placed on them. Then the higher the annoyances with having to deal with those become a disbursement between business management specialists political interests and lawyers. Social aspects can be mitigated with enough low rent districts and security personnel that keep the citizen that wants to spend the excess from their base rent and living expenses on certain 'lifestyle augmentations.' That might seem like a really crappy thing to say but eventually people move out of those areas BECAUSE of that issue too. Which you can see it in even some of the oldest literatures, and that's across every race, class and ability range too so please don't say I'm being a jerk when I point that one out.
      It's pretty common:
      "I want to have a place to live, just not there, because of:
      Crime
      Violence
      Schools
      Neighbors Suck
      Available work
      Impossible laws
      Lack of entertaining venues
      Ect.
      I want to live where: ___________ (There's a place for that, if the money or personal capabilities are right.)

    As with other industries , they clearly are trying to make the regulations favor large corporations over small business owners, now the industry is still young but I predict small business will start to get cannibalized by larger ones fairly soon until the industry is in the hands of a handful of mega corporations

    • @nickmoyer9112
      @nickmoyer9112 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Your prediction is gunna be correct.I’ve been in the industry for 10 years as one of the small guys trying to make it, learned from OG’s who’ve been doing for 20-30 years and it’s clear that this whole industry will cannibalize itself but it might take some time. If your a small business that knows what it’s doing it can sustain itself which is what I’ve done/seen so far in both Oregon and now Oklahoma. Unfortunately as the industry grows two things occur almost at the same time. 1) supply goes way over demand so prices race to the bottom. Only people growing high quality products or have huge pockets can survive this. 2) Regulations continue to tack on more and more requiring more fees and labor costs for growers and processors. Once these two things occur you see a rush of businesses go out or look to sell. Honestly this industry is fools gold for most people. If you don’t have the combination of grow skills/branding& business skills you will not survive and that’s what happens to most small businesses. Now the added pressure of corporate/pharmaceutical money will make it an even bigger game changer here soon and that’s what will close the doors for most people( myself included realistically). I’ve got money saved up and I hope I can make some good money for a couple more years and just maybe hopefully be one of the lucky ones that gets bought out by a bigger fish but who knows. 🤷‍♂️

Today I employ four other employees, have 5 company vehicles, over 15 different cleaning devices, and for the last few years, i have been making over 100k a year in my own pocket.
