18:20 That is so wrong. Here in Sweden we work and have at least 1 or 2 part time jobs during our student years. People don't understand that having working experience is worth a lot. I packed meat, drove DHL truck, worked at Scania Factory. After the studies (IT) i got a job quite fast not only because of my school but for my working experience. It doesn't matter what you work with its all about showing that you want to work.
yes of course, that is a problem. But one alone can only do so much. I worked as much as I could to get experience. One advantage of that is that I had more money. And the result was easier student life. Only win win. Remember when I was on vacation in the Balkans and I told my relatives that I picked strawberries for summer work, they all laughed at me. But that picking straw berry jobs got me 5000 Euros that summer.
@@abc-eq9so I highly doubt that. Its really common here to work similar jobs, strawbarries, corn, apples etc, but you earn little below 10 euros per day for that, so you will earn 5k euros in 100 summers :D
@@JanjashDS89 it is possible. I worked in Norway a whole summer (2 months) and earned about 4500 euros. Depends on where you work and how much you are willing to work. Norwegian/Sweden salaries are quite similar.
Remember that this is also about culture. They usually grow up hearing their parents say: "Your school is your job". It is not as normal to have a part time job as a student in the Balkans as it is in Scandinavia.
A packet of cigarettes in Australia costs upward of $20 now. So nobody here can really afford it anymore. Our govt wanted to reduce the number of people dying from smoking related illness. As much as I love Serbia that was one thing that did bother me. Every restaurant had the pervasive smell of stale smoke. It can't be helped because it gets into everything.
Well I dated a Serbian for 8 years and got to know his family here and in Europe pretty well. Just lovely people. The hospitality of the people, the beauty of the landscape, it's long history.
