  • Part of our agenda as people of any age is to find some way of being with the idea of death. Whether confronting our own passing` or grieving the death of someone we love, we're trapped in our pain - until we look beyond the form. Then we see that everyone we've ever loved is part of the very fabric of our being. Ram Dass tells of the transformations experienced by individuals as they open through their dying process. He assures us, "grief gets transformed into a living love space, a spiritual transcendence of the pain. Please click the following link for additional teachings on Death:

"I'm one of the strange people that absolutely delights and enjoys being with people as they're dying ... because I know I'm going to have an opportunity to be in the presence of truth." So beautifully stated.

Thank you. This came at just the right time as we prepare to lose a very close friend. She's in her mid-thirties with a young son and was only diagnosed with very aggressive cancer a couple of weeks ago. She does not have long. I found the part about losing sight of the person as you fixate on the 'tragedy' their situation particularly poignant. A really eye-opening talk, thank you.

So long, Ram Dass. You gave this world, and me, so much. My life is filled with more peace and love than I thought possible because of you.

Found out my grandfather has pancreatic cancer today. I’m so angry at god and wish I could understand the point of all this pain… I know in my heart we all one but I don’t want to live in a life without him. Thank you Ram Dass for all your love and wisdom.

Life and Death were talking one day and Life says to Death "Why is it that everyone loves and appreciates me but abhors and fears you?" Death replied "Because you are a beautiful lie, and I am the ugly truth."

to see the death of a child as also a teaching---
    'facing death'
reminds me of what he said about unconditional love
    its 'unconditional'.

Society as become so greedy and vain they try to hold on to which has already left. As a person leaves this plane of existence, they should try to find peace in the process, but greedy society won't let that happen. They get so wrapped up in the pain of their loss, they forget about the journey the dying has embarked upon.
