I'm going to get this beer again to review. I did it once but it was in a Bad setting. I couldn't really stay focused because music and a lot of things were happening but I definitely love the Optimator. Fun challenge guys 👍🏾😁
I drink PBR and vodka shots when I watch your reviews. Thanks for showing the many varieties of beer that I should avail myself of. Premium beers are so spendy these days. Great review gentlemen!
Solid stuff for sure. As to the bottle size, of course prefer 12 then 11.2 oz. But to other euro brewers defense while sure they could do it, expect most don’t want to have to alter their production setup (& take on extra associated cost) just to accommodate USA market. I won’t kill then for that and keep grabbing 16.9’’s when possible & 11.2’s when not.
First time I found some 6 packs today and bought one. Seems more Eurolagerish than a Munich Helles, despite being the first pale lager from Munich. I can't really place a comparable beer off the top of my head but I feel it kinda reminds me of Becks and Moosehead, not exactly glowing praise given the $11/6 pack price bracket. To me it has a fair bit of sweetness without enough bitterness or malt to offset to be very enjoyable for me. Bitburger is world class but sometimes it's not the sort of thing I would want to drink a whole lot of or super often due to the bitterness. Paulaner Munich Helles I would say is best beer I've ever had in terms of not being tiring at all, whether it's the first or the last, it isn't fatiguing at all while being world class, if that's the only beer I could drink I really wouldn't be too distressed. I haven't had a whole lot of Munich Helle's, just the Paulaner and the Benediktiner (a long time ago mind you), those two definitely seem distinct from this despite being all in the same style. The third I had I poured into a glass and I noticed as well as in the video that it did not have any real head when poured despite being quite fresh.
I have never seen Spaten in a green bottle, there is "rule"(it's more some sort of joke like) for German beer drinkers from the middle to the south "if a beer comes in a green bottle it's just not good" beers from the north regions of Germany comes in green bottles thats why brands like Beck's and Jever f.e., Holsten or this bad Veltines all 1 out of 10 for me, just yikes, they sell the Spaten in brown bottles in Germany, for me Spaten is one of the better south Bavarian beers, rating 7 out of 10. I have seen your reviews about the Hofbräu Hell and Dunkel, both arround 6 out of 10, i like the Dunkel a bit more. Do you have a PO Box? I'd like to hear your opinion about some of my favorite brewerie beers from Thuringia.
@@BermanRecords I appreciate the offer, and I will give honest reviews for it, but I just hate to see people going to the trouble to do it. If you really do want to do it, though, you can send it to Matherne's Market; 1424 W. Airline Highway; Laplace, Louisiana; care of Ronald. Thanks, again.
@@ronaldtheriot If Everything goes well i'll send you a package next week, it's really not a big deal the only thing i worry about is that the beer don't run out through shipping because they all have a swing top cap wich is normal for private breweries in my region, anyway we will see i'm looking forward! greets
@@ronaldtheriot well it is a helles as it is light or bright in color but in Munich it's called a Munich lager or Keller beer which they don't export to the US. The Spaten in the US is a Dortmunder which is similar to becks. Green bottle isn't the Munich lager is what I'm trying to say if you try Paulaner original Munich that is the Munich lager.
@@ronaldtheriot I find the Munich hells is way better than the premium lagers but overall I think spaten is an ok beer as far as exports. My Munich brewers are Paulaner, Hacker Pschorr, and Augustiner the best. Hofbräu makes the best export but if you can get it from a keg would be best as it tastes fresher.
Cool bottle for sure. Would love to try it. 🍻
Definitely try it!
I've always enjoyed this beer. I think I'll grab it today matter of fact!
Excellent, Bart!
Yin and yang aligned. Many thanks for making my day. As always . . . "Drink Better Beers". From Cape Town, Cheers!
Thanks, and cheers, back to you!

World Class! This is a very good beer, and you said it best Jay. I could drink this every day and never get tired of it. 👍🏼
Thanks, powerbottom. I appreciate you watching.
I love this beer. Cheers
Same. Cheers, back to you, Rick Kramer. I appreciate you watching. Thanks!
I just lost my dad today and my favorite to watch is you
Thanks, Richard, and I want to offer my condolences on your loss.
Pub near my house in New Jersey has Spaten all year round. Few months on pull. Other months in bottle. Like it a lot.
I love draft Spaten!
What pub is that? I live in VA now but am from and visit NJ multiple times a year, thanks
Good one. I had this a few weeks ago 👍👍
It really is a good one, Don.
Spaten, one of my favorite German Beers, but I prefer it on tap, so lovely if you can find it on tap...prost Jay!
Oh! The draft version is superb! Cheers, back to you, Dave!
It’s a brilliant beer.
I love it! Thanks for watching, Mark Young. I appreciate it!

Canebrake is the best. Seriously try it.
I enjoyed Canebreak. Thanks for watching, Jesper. I appreciate it.
I like green bottles ....that's why I'm here ....but Spit on ......I'm not sure about that !
Good ole green bottles.
There’s a beer you don’t see much. I remember it being good, but haven’t had one in years.
Yeah, I wish it was more common, but I CAN still get it, in my town.

That's actually not what they serve in Germany. That's called a Dortmunder or export beer.
