- Much like his long-time friend and law school contemporary, Rodrigo Duterte, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade is a tough-talking guy who doesn’t mince words. His is an honesty and toughness, honed by a life of hard knocks. At 72, this multi-awarded executive and businessman, turned public servant, is ever the workaholic - on a mission to fulfill the President’s mandate to take the country’s transport infrastructure into the future.
The friendly environment at the new Department of Transportation central headquarters in Clark, Pampanga is a welcome change from our usual impression of a government office. The first thing visitors notice on the grounds is Sec. Tugade’s pet project -- a flourishing vegetable garden tended by Pampanga’s indigenous community. By introducing new ways of doing things, he’s on a mission to usher in a new and even stronger culture within the department - with the kind of mindset needed to get his plans off the ground.
Kudos to you Secretary Tugade for being such a visionary. Matagal na sanang umasenso ang Pilipinas kung nagkaroon tayo nang mga workers in government na katulad ninyo at nang administration ni President Duterte. Most Filipinos are impatient and reluctant to change. If you were to listen to politicians like Senator Grace Poe, the Philippines will remain stagnant and always be left behind by other Asian countries. Keep up the good work.

I will never get tired watching and listening to SEC ART TUGADE’s idealism. When I came here in the US, I am a graduate from the PHILIPPINES FAR EASTERN UNIVERSITY, immigrated and went to school from scratch, I successfully passed the boards while working at a very prestigious hospital in LOS ANGELES, moved on and landed in CSR- CMF. Due to time constraints, even if I wanted to continue and go back to school, I stopped until I retired. Still the desire is still there but was never fulfilled due to unavoidable circumstances. I turned to reading from educational to some political enrichments so as not to be idle, work my brains somehow and will continue to do so, I am not rich but live happily, contented comfortably with GOD’s blessings...😇😇😇🇺🇸🇵🇭
